After a little more talking Howie finally says "duty calls" and leaves the bullpen to go back to his block. Sue on the other hand gets a great idea.

Sue: Hey you guys! I have an idea for what we can do for the 4th, since Myles won't let us use his house, I thought this idea of mine might be fun. If you don't mind flying that is.
Bobby: Lets hear it Sheila!
Sue: Well I have an old friend who lives in Springfield, IL and every year her church puts on this huge amazing show for the 4th. They have games for kids, food, concerts, fireworks, the whole bit. She has always told me about how much she'd like for me to come and see it sometime. So I was thinking, why don't we all go? We can get a real good deal on roundtrip tickets right now, if you can all come up with around $150.
Lucy: That sounds like it would be a lot of fun. I think we should go! What do you guys think?
Jack: Definately. It will be fun.
Tara: I'm up for it!
Bobby: Lets go.
Myles: Well, I guess we could. I can possibly come up with the extra cash.
D: Sorry guys. I'm out for this one. I want to stay here and just enjoy the weekend with my wife and kids.
Tara: I'll get our tickets and hotel arrangements made.
Sue: Actually, I'm sure Kendra, my friend, wouldn't mind us staying at her house. Her little sister is usally there for this, but other than that she has a fairly large house that I'm sure she won't mind us staying in. I'll call and check with her right now.
Sue went to her desk and dialed Kendra's number
Kendra: Hello, this is Kendra.
Sue: Hi Kendra, it's Sue.
Kendra: Sue! Good to hear from you how have you been?
Sue: Great. Say I was wondering, you know how you've been trying to get me to come down for freedom fest sometime?
Kendra: Yeah.
Sue: Well I was curious if I could come down maybe tonight, with some of my co-workers?
Kendra: Sure. You can even stay at my house as long as you don't mind teenagers because my sister is here too.
Sue: Thats no problem, are you sure you don't mind us staying there? There is going to be 6 of us?
Kendra: Of course I don't mind. I've been wanting you to come down for a long time. The only thing is, you might want to bring some sleeping bags along. I only have enough beds for 3 or 4 people.
Sue: Okay. Great! We'll see you tonight then?
Kendra: Okay. Do you remember how to get to my house from the airport, cuz you'll probably have to rent a car since mine only fits 4 people.
Sue: Yes I do. I will see you tonight then!
Kendra: Okay. Bye!

Sue hung up with Kendra and everyone was very excited about there trip. Tara got on the computer and booked their flight and rental car. Noone got any work done for the rest of the day because they were to excited about the fun weekend ahead of them.

Springfield... I know there are countless Springfield in the States, but each and every time I hear or read that I think of the Simpsons... I bet it will be an interesting trip though!

Wow, what a neat - and different - idea. Can't wait for the trip!

They all went home at 5:00 to pack really quick for their 4 day trip in Illinois. They were all so excited to meet Sue's friend and have a relaxing weekend, just hanging out and having fun.

The flight they were to take was at 8:00pm. They were to arrive at Chicago Ohare at 9:45 and their connecting flight to Springfield was to be at 10:15. They would then arrive in Springfield at approximately 11:00. There they would be renting a 7 passenger Buick Rendezvous to drive the 5 miles to Kendra's house.

The flight went well. Sue tried to sleep most of the way so she could be awake enough to catch up with Kendra. She and Jack both fell asleep and she was on Jack's shoulder as they were sitting next to each other. He woke up a while later and he really didn't want to wake the georgeous blonde leaning on his shoulder but they were about 5 minutes away and she needed to get ready to get off. He nudged her slightly and she looked up at him, when she realized what she was doing, and smiled at him. He smiled back at her with his famous "Jack Hudson" smile. Just then Jack heard the pilot come over the speaker and told them to fasten their seatbelts. Jack signed what he just heard to Sue as it was too dark on the plane for her to read him.

When they landed they all unbuckeled and grabbed their overhead luggage and headed toward the door. They grabbed the 2 pieces of checked luggage and went to the rental desk. Jack grabbed the keys to the car. They walked out and loaded their car and hopped in to head on the quick trip to Kendra's house. Jack decided he should drive, as he slept unlike everyone else who chatted the whole flight. Sue claimed shotgun since she had to pay attention to where they were going since she was the one who knew how to get there.

About five minutes later they pulled off West Jefferson and into Kendra's driveway. She was sitting on the lawn with her sister waiting for them to arrive. They got up and went to greet them all. Sue jumped out and gave Kendra a big hug. "How are you?" she asked her.
"Great, you?" Kendra signed in reply.
"Really good thanks."
Kendra's sister walked up and signed "Hello Sue"
"Jill? How are you? You are so big. The last time I saw you you were like 10."
"I'm really good thanks. Yeah it has been a long time. I am 18 now and I just graduated."
"Wow. Oh you guys," Sue said to her friends that now gathered behind her, "This is my friend Kendra and her sister Jill. This is my team and friends Tara, Lucy, Jack, Bobby, and Myles."
They all exchanged hello's and grabbed their stuff to bring into Kendra's house.
"Guys are upstairs with sleeping bags and girls down here with Jill and I. I have 2 twin beds in the guest room and an air matress we can put in the living room."

They all went to their respective floors and put their stuff in the rooms. Tara said she would take the airmatress in the living room because she could sleep anywhere. Lucy and Sue then put their stuff on each of the twin beds. As soon as the guys came down from their rooms they went into the living room.
After a bit of chatting around 11:30 Jill said, "Kendra, why don't we take them to Ice Deli?"
"Good idea. What do you guys want to do?"
"Whats Ice Deli?" they all asked.
"The best shaved ice in the whole world. You know how normal snowcones you get ice on top and all of the flavor drains to the bottom? Well this stuff rocks because the flavor actually stays in the ice. There is like a hundred different flavors that you can get," Jill said.
"Sounds good to me," Tara said.
"I think I'm just going to stay here because I have to get my sleep or you'll see a side of Myles Leland III you never wanted to. Goodnight all," Myles said as he turned and left the room.
"I'll stay with him. I don't want him to stay here by himself and I'm pretty tired too," Lucy said.
"Alright. We'll be back in a half hour or so," Kendra told her.

They all jumped into the Rendezvous and headed to Ice Deli. When they got there they all looked at the menu at the diffeerent flavors that they had. Jill and Kendra ordered their usuals. Jill always got half cherry and half lemon lime and Kendra always got chocolate cream with snow cap, which is just sweet and condensed milk poured on top. Bobby decided he wanted to have the Mickey mouse which was cherry and vanilla with snow cap. Tara got the barbie which was pick lemonade and lemonade. Sue decided on chocolate and Jack got dreamsicle. They sat around on the picnic tables and talked some more. Around Midnight they finally decided they should head back home so they could get up early and do sight seeing that day.

Hey you have me wanting one of those shaved ice things. lol

That morning they all got up really early and decided to go and see all of the Abraham Lincoln stuff they have there. They drove to Lincoln's New Salem which is the little village Lincoln lived in and built his own cabin in. They walked around there for a while just looking at all of the cool restored buildings. The next place they went to was Lincolns house he lived in with his wife Mary and their kids. They also got to see all of his neighbors houses and learn about everyday life for them. After that they decided to grab some lunch and went to an Irish pub style restaurant. It was called D'Arcy's. Kendra and Jill suggested for all of them to try a horse shoe.
"What is a horse shoe?" Lucy asked.
"It's a hamburger with french fries piled on top and smothered in a cheese sauce. You can actually get any kind of meat you'd like on it. If you do decide to get it though I suggest the PONYshoe for the girls because they are very huge if its a horse." Jill stated.
"Well it sounds great. I'll definately try it."
Everyone ordered horse and ponyshoes. They really liked them because it was kind of fun to try something different.

After eating everyone was stuffed and decided they needed to walk it off. They drove to Lincoln's museum and then out to his memorial.

It was 2:30 by the time they saw all of that. Kendra needed to get back home becasue she had a Saturday night church service that she had to be back for. They went back home for her to get ready and they decided that they would go to church that night too. Kendra was the children's pastor so she would be with the kids but they all decided to go to the actual service. They got ready too and headed over with her at 3:30. Church didn't start untill 5:00 but they wanted to meet some of her friends and the pastor. The also went up to the room called Sonpower room which is where the kids service was held. Kendra and Jill showed them around the whole building. They were able to meet all of the different pastors they had.

Around 4:30 Kendra had to go back to the Sonpower room to have it unlocked for the kids when they would get there. Jill took them into the sanctuary so they could find a seat before the service started. They wanted to be in the very front so Sue was able to lip read as best as she could. Anything she missed Lucy would fill her in on as they went.

At five oclock the pastor got up and said the welcomes.
"We would like to say a special greeting tonight for some friends of Pastor Kendra's who are visiting. They are from Washington D.C. and are FBI agents there. Would you stand up please."
They all stood up and recieved a big round of applause from all of the congregation thanking them for doing the job they do.

After that was worship. They sang a few songs and then it was time for the message. The message wasn't very long but they really enjoyed it. After the sevice they talked to alot of people and then they went up to the Sonpower room to meet the kids. The kids were totally impressed that there was FBI agents there and we're talking to them and thought it was even cooler that they were friends with Pastor Kendra.

Here's a bit more!BTW don't mind the flight times I used earlier. They're a little off cuz I wasn't paying attention and used the flight hours from MN to Chicago not Washington D.C. to Chicago. It's probably a bit of a difference from there.


After church they headed to Applebee's for dinner with some of Kendra's friends.
They walked in and saw that everyone was there waiting for them.

"Hey guys! This is Sue, Jack, Tara, Lucy, Bobby, and Myles. Guys these are my friends from church Amanda aka. Barber, Sonya, Jeni, Jeff, Tom, Brittany, and Harold." Kendra said as she introduced her 2 groups of friends.

They all exchanged greetings and sat down to eat dinner. They had fun talking about they're jobs and funny stories about Kendra.

"So how long are you here for?" Barber asked them.
"We got in late last night and we leave real early Tuesday," Jack stated.
"You guys are coming to Freedom Fest tomorrow though right?"
"Most definately. That's why we came down because Kendra has wanted me to come and see it sometime so we thought we would this year," Sue said.
"Great. You'll enjoy it we do a lot of cool stuff and you'll even get to here Jeni sing. She's really good!"
"Barber. Stop it. I don't need you to brag me up." Jeni replied.
"She teaches choir so the kids will be performing tomorrow night during the music service. There are a lot of performances and they are all so fun and cute," Jill said.
"Well, we can't wait to see it all. It will be such a cool experience," Lucy said.

They all ate and went back to Kendra's but not without stopping back at ice deli. They really liked them last night when they were there and Lucy and Myles wanted to try one now too. They all got different flavors to try and shared them with each other just to see what the diffeerent flavors were.

That morning they all got up early and got ready because they wanted to go to the kids service that Kendra did and see how everything happened in the Sonpower room. They enjoyed spending time up there with the kids. The had kids worship, a game and a short sermon type lesson. They thought it was cool, all of the stuff that Kendra did.

Sorry this is so short. I leave for NY early in the morning and I have to finish packing. I will post more either Thursday when I get home or for sure Friday. Thanks for all of your encouraging replies.

Yes there are definately fuzzies in the works! What story is complete without J/S moments! I know what will happen but I haven't figured out how to work it in.

BTW I am at a total dead end for this moment so I will try and write more tomorrow. I really want to get the story going.

Oh and thank you lilsmoochiegirl. I had a blast on my vacation. It was absolutely great. Oh and if anyone who reads this is going to NY don't see the broadway show the producers. It totally sucked. It was totally against my principles with bad sic humor and nasty stuff if you catch my drift. Everyone in my group all 23 of them loved it except for me.

After Church they all went back to Kendra's to change out of their church clothes and put on grubs to help her with the setup of the inflatable games and everything. There was a lot that Kendra had to do in a very short time from 12:00 when church was done untill 3:00 when freedom fest actually started.

After setup they were all excited for all of the events to start. People started piling in at 5 to 3 and so they were even more excited. They all started off with walking around and looking at the finish product and seeing all of the stuff they had going on.

Bobby grabbed Tara and asked her if she wanted to go grab something to eat. She said sure cuz she was hungry too. Bobby held out his arm for her and she grabbed it and they headed off together. Myles and Lucy then decided to head to the concert area and wait for the music to begin. That meant it was just Jack and Sue.

"You hungry?" Jack signed.
"A little bit," Sue replied.
"Lets go grab something to eat." He said as he mocked Bobby and held out his arm for her.

They walked to the food stand and grabbed some hotdogs. They talked for a while and then walked around some more. After a while Jack noticed that Sue's face was really red. He took her over to where Kendra was working. She gave them the keys to her house which was right next door to the church and he took Sue over there.

"Your face is really red are you feeling okay?" He asked her with concern evident in his voice.
"Yeah I'm fine. It's probably just sunburn. I'm gonna go into the bathroom and see if I can find some sunscreen." she replied.
"I'll help you." Jack said as he followed her in there.

The two of them began looking on shelves to find it. Jack found it in the back of the top shelf. He reached up grabbing the edge of it to reach the bottle. As he did that, Sue moved bumping into his knee. When she did that he jumped causing the shelf to fall on top of them.

"I'm so sorry are you okay?" He asked her.
"Yeah I'm fine," Sue said with a laugh, "Sorry I bumbed you."

The two of them sat there for a minute laughing when they finally decided they should probably get up and head back. Jack moved the stuff off of them and stood up. He reached for Sue's hand to help her up and she gladly accepted. As he pulled her up he must have yanked a little hard because she fell into him.

She looked up and said "Sorry." As she looked up though she realized they were standing awfully close, and she saw an odd look on Jack's face.
"Hello? Earth to Jack. What are you staring at?" She asked him as she started to step back only to be stobbed by the wall.
"The most beautiful thing I've ever laid eyes on," was his quiet reply.
Sue blushed as Jack started to close the distance between them. He stopped suddenly and signed for her "we better clean this up because some one's coming"

The two of them both bent down to clean up and bumped heads. They both shot up and said sorry simultaneously. They laughed and then attempted to clean up more. Sue watched Jack hoist the shelf back up and saw him mouth "we're in the bathroom". What is he talking about? Sue wondered. Just then she saw Jill walk in.

"What are you guys doing in the bathroom may I ask?" She said as she saw the predicament.
"I was trying to find some sunscreen for Sue and she bumbed into me and I knocked the shelf off on top of us." Jack said with a "oops" kinda smile.
"Oh, Okay. Anyways I was trying to find you guys because I wanted Sue to Sumo with me and Kendra said you came over here. So you wanna sumo with me Sue?" Jill asked.

Sue had a puzzled look on her face and looked at Jack. He finger spelled Sumo Wrestling for her.

"Oh, my bad. I forgot I should've finger spelled that one." Jill said to her when Sue turned back to her.
"That's okay. Yeah I'd like to try that."
"Alright. I'll go get in line and leave you two to whatever you were really doing in here."

With that Jill left and Sue blushed and looked at Jack who was smiling at her. They finished cleaning up the mess and headed back to the church. When they got there Jill was just about to get into her sumo suit.

"There you are. Go ahead and grab the other one. It's our turn."

Sue and Jill finished getting in their suits and were given instructions. Jack had to sign for Sue because the guy wasn't looking at her, and Jill's arms couldn't exactly move that easily.

The two of them had fun trying to knock each other over. They played 3 rounds. Jill won the first but Sue won the other two after she got the hang of it.
"Jack it's your turn. One of us has to be able to stop her." Jill said smiling as she started undoing her suit.

Jack got all suited up as Sue sat there and laughed at him while he did. He asked her "What are you laughing at?"

"Just how funny you look fat!" she replied with a laugh.

"Gee thanks what if I end up looking like this when we're old?"

"I didn't say it was bad cuz you still look cute." After realizing what she just said she started to blush.

"Thanks. I was gonna say the same to you miss Thomas. You don't look half bad in that suit."

"Alright love birds can we get on with the wrestling?" Jill said to them.

This time they both blushed. They started wrestling and Jack won the first 2 rounds. "Alright Agent Hudson! You are so going down this time!" Sue said to him.

"Oh really by who?"

"By me."

"You and what army my dear?" Jack said jokingly.

"Oh is that how it is," Sue said as she ran toward the other side of the mat where Jack was. She jumped and pushed him smack down on his back coming down right on top of him. "I didn't think thats how it would be." Sue said triuphantly.

"Okay you win but since I didn't you owe me for letting you."

"You didn't let me win."

"Oh but I did my dear."

"Fine well what do I owe you then?"

"This." Jack said as he rolled her off of him and laid right on top of her squishing her.

"Okay I give. You can get off now!" Sue squealed.

"Not before collecting my prize."

"I'm the one who won so I should get a prize."

"Okay I'll give you a prize then." Jack said as he lowered his head and kissed her. He heard cheers and looked up. He saw Bobby and Tara standing there smiling at them.

"Hey now! Other people wanna play this game too ya know." A person from the back of the line yelled.

They broke apart and were then pulled up and helped out of their suits. They were both kind of shocked and didn't really know what to say to each other. After they were done getting out of their suits Jack walked to the side with a sad looking Sue watching him. She started walking back toward the house passing Jack on her way.

"I was leaving because I thought that-"

"You thought that what, I regretted it? It was an accident? I don't think so ms. Thomas! You know why it wasn't an accident or a regret? Because it was on purpose my dear."

"Jack we can't. What about the no-dating policy?"

"The heck with it. If it comes down to one of us having to transfer, I will do it. If it means being able to be with you I will. I promise you that my dear."

By now Sue had tears running down her cheeks.

"Are you really really sure you're willing to make that sacrifice just for us to have the chance to date?"

"Yes. Would you like to know why? I'll tell you. Because you didn't leave like you were supposed to and I realized how much I would miss not having what I never had in the first place. Because I don't wanna say what if anymore. Because I think...no, I know... we have a future together if you'll let us try it."

Sue just stared at him completely stunned that special agent Jackson Hudson could be this emotional about something.

Jack then pulled her tighter to him and kissed her even harder than the first time.

The next thing he knew was Sue was no longer in his arms and she was running towards the house as fast as she could.

AHHH! Is she crazy! Jack Hudson just basically declared his love for her and she runs away! Jill, you need to fix this soon!

Jack took off after her. He wasn't gonna risk anything by letting her run. As soon as she got to the house she went inside because luckily the door was open. Jack got in there right after her and when he did he saw her leaning over the trash can coughing. He went over and rubbed her back.

"Sue are you okay? I mean am I really that bad of a kisser?" He said as soon as she looked up.

"Yes, I'm fine. I'm sure it was just the heat and all of the emotions. Ans no you're not that bad of a kisser." She said with a smile.

"You're sure thats all it was?"

"Yeah. I'm sure. I'm just fine."

"Okay. I think we should go and sit down for a while."

She agreed with him and they went into the living room.

Sue curled up on the end of the couch and Jack sat down right beside her and put his arm around her shoulders while she relaxed.

They sat there for a while and Sue drank some water so she wouldn't get dehydrated. He was glad that she didn't run away because of him. He was also relieved that she was okay and he wasn't "that bad of a kisser".

Here's a bit more, sorry it's very short. I think it's almost finished. I hope you've enjoyed it so far and thanks for stickin with me. There will be for sure one more post after this one.


It was now 7:30 by the time they had cooled off. They decided to head out because the evening service type thing was about to start. They got out there and found Tara, Bobby, Myles, Lucy, and Jill all sitting together. They had saved them some chairs for when they got there.

"I'm glad you're feeling better Sue. I was hoping you guys would make it in time for the service. The kids will be on first in about 10 minutes."

They all talked for a few minutes and then the kids headed out on stage. The first thing they were going to do was sing "America the Beautiful". It was super cute and then a kid dressed as Thomas Jefferson came out. Jill was really excited and told them all "It's Tanner! Look how cute he is in that wig!" Jill said with a laugh. He stood in the front of a mic with a piece of paper in his hand. He started reading the Declaration of Independence.

He said "...We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness..."

Jack signed everything as best as he could with the girls all filling in in the spots he missed.

After the kids finished up there was a performance by the Temptations. As it started getting dark the adult choir sang a couple of songs and the Pastor got up and they recognized all of the Men and Women that served in the military or were currently serving the country. The fireworks started soon after that with a few guys from the church singing "God Bless the USA". After they finished that song the fireworks were still going and a woman got on stage to sing "The Star Spangled Banner". By that time everyone was standing and singing along. Jack had his arm around Sue and Bobby was holding Tara's hand. They were looking into eachothers eyes with sparkles in them. It was as if the love in their hearts was flying right out with the fireworks.

Oh my gosh! So sweet!

After the whole thing was over they helped with clean up. There was a lot to be done still that night even though it was already 11 oclock. They cleaned up the chairs and garbage and everything they could to help. Finally around 1 they were pretty much finished so they decided to go as a huge group out to Denny's to relax before getting home and going to bed. They all had fun eating at Denny's and then decided around 2:30 that they needed to shower and get some sleep.

After everyone took turns showering they went straight to bed. As soon as their heads hit the pillow they were out like lightbulbs. Tomorrow was going to be an early day for all of them. They had a flight back to DC at 12 oclock. They all said their goodbyes, sad to leave their new friends but excited to get home. The two new couples were not as excited however as first thing the next morning they would have to go talk to D.

On the plane ride home they discussed it. If the rules were not flexible in the least bit, Jack would state the fact that Sue was not an agent therefore they could date because the rule just said no Agents on the same team may date. (AN: I just made that up cuz I don't know what else to do) Bobby and Tara however was another story. One of them would indefinately have to be transfered. Tara figured out that she could become lead "computer person" in their office and still work with the team but just not be an agent if she had too.

That morning they walked in to D's office. "D we have something we'd like to discuss with you." Jack said.

"I know. I could sense it a mile away." D replied.

"You could?" They all asked.

"Yes and they found one. It specifically said that two agents in the same field office could not date. Now Sue is an analyst not an agent so that works for Jack and Sue. If I'm not mistaken Bobby is a field agent bomb squad consultant and Tara is in charge of electronics and communications and a field agent. Therefore, you are not agents in the same field and office. Just the same office."

"Thanks so much D. You'll never know how much we truly appreciate this." Tara said.

"Oh, I have a pretty good hunch. One final condition though. I don't want to see any kissing in the office untill you all are married, agreed?"

With that they all blushed and said "yes sir"
