QUOTE
You just couldn't resist, could you? Don't be getting any evil ideas from the other stories...I'll be forced to send my owl to watch you! (sly grin)
Well, it is true. I just couldn't resist it. But however, I'm in Singapore and owls aren't really native here. So if I hear about one, I'll know its from you.
Here's another post. But be warned that it isn't going to make you feel any better.
St.Michaels Hospital, 3rd of July, night
“How’s the sheila doing, mate?” asked Bobby, walking back into the waiting area. Together with Myles, they carried cups of steaming coffee and handed them out to their worn-out colleagues. “We don’t know. It’s been an hour since Jack went in and she’s been keeping quiet ever since, we don’t know what’s going through her mind,” said D quietly, clearly worried about Sue. All eyes shifted towards the blonde, sitting alone and patting Levi’s head, which was on her lap.
Sue’s mind was in a whirl. So many things just flashed past her. Her late night visit to Jack’s place. Her lunch with Jack. Her life with Jack. And now, Jack getting shot. Now, she really wished she had come clean with Jack.
“Hey, sheila,” whispered Bobby, placing a hand on Sue’s shoulder. She turned around and he handed her a cup. “THANK-YOU,” she signed.
“You holding up, all right?” he asked.
“I’ve been better”.
“Don’t worry. Jack’ll be fine. I’m sure of it”.
“But what if you’re wrong?” she whispered. Sue was having a full-on panic attack. “What if Jack doesn’t make it? What if something bad happens? And I can’t tell him what’s on my mind?”
“That you love him?” Bobby ventured.
“How did…How did you know?”
“Jack mentioned some things to me,” smiled Bobby. “He told me you wanted to pursue a personal relationship?”
“He told you that, huh?” said Sue, a small smile creeping onto her face.
“Yeah, he did. And I’m pretty darn sure he wouldn’t just up and leave when the both of you have unfinished business.”
Sue nodded, hoping with all her heart, that Bobby was going to be right. She felt a little better after Levi barked in response.
Five minutes later, the team saw a doctor coming out of the operating theater. All of them immediately rushed towards him. “Is Jack okay?” asked Sue, desperately wanting an answer. “I’m afraid I have some bad news,” said the doctor, shaking his head.
No sooner had the words left the doctor’s mouth, Sue fell into a dead faint, leaving her colleagues scrabbling to catch her in time.
