Please tell me that it's one of those quick rinse out dyes that you use when you're not sure of the colour you really want ....or can Dewberry wiggle her nose or something. I think it would be very hard to confess your undying love to a woman with blue hair...no offence to anyone with blue hair...but Jack is surely doomed at this point!

sorry sue ... but having once died my hair bright purple (i ignored the instructions and put purple based black hair dye on my blond locks!!!) you have my sympathies!!! dont worry - i have the number of a very good hairdresser - i will dig it out ....

I'm here, I'm here!! I'm just really annoyed...you see, I was about to post and then the power went off. I was so hoping for rain and now that it's finally here we keep on having power failures (twice in three hours...)

Bobby whistled to himself as he passed the conference room and was highly surprised when the door burst open and someone flew into his arms, knocking him to the floor. He fell ungracefully and cursed under his breathe, his hands trying to hold into the person who knocked him down. He stared with wide eyes at Tara’s disheveled appearance; her hair was a mess and the top button of her blouse was open, revealing the creamy skin that was underneath it.

He had to put some effort into it but he did manage to raise his head and look in her eyes, frowning when he saw her startled look. “Tara, luv, are you alright?”

She gaped at him for a moment. “I think I’m going crazy.” She whispered.

“Okay.” He creased his brow. “What happened?”

“I saw something in the conference room. It was crying.” She whispered, looking behind her shoulder.

He pulled her up with him and gazed at her. “It?”

“It…she…he…I don’t know.” She sounded frustrated. “Will you please have a look? Maybe I just need to sleep more.” She mumbled.

They crept inside the conference room and Bobby felt his eyes growing wide at the sight before him. Behind the plastic tree sat the weirdest thing he ever seen. He heard the sound of crying and was surprised to see shining tears glistering across the cheeks of the…whatever that was.

Tara held into his hand and he heard her holding her breathe. “You’re not going crazy.” He whispered.

The creature startled and looked at them with bright purple eyes. Tara and Bobby looked at each other and then back down. Bobby narrowed his eyes. “It’s gone.” He said quietly.

“But it was here just a second ago.” Tara exclaimed. “I wasn’t mental; you saw it too, right?”

Dewberry was still there but was now hidden by her own charms. She gaped at the two humans with astonishment. They searched for her around the room. Her eyes were wide with excitement, they saw her. It was very rare, most older humans didn’t see her and here in this room were two humans who could do that. She smiled when they both sat down on the chairs and the tall man reached out to hold the woman’s hand.

“Maybe we shared a dream together.” He said quietly.

“You’re often in my dreams, Bobby.” She blurted and then gasped loudly, covering her mouth with her hand. “I can’t believe I just said that.” She mumbled.

Bobby’s wide grin threatened to split his face and moved his chair closer, cupping her cheek with his hand, caressing softly.

Dewberry smiled. There was nothing like a good truth charm to break the ice. But that was all she could do. She couldn’t make people in love or do anything they didn’t want to do at the first place. She rose from her position on the floor. No more crying over blue hair and previous mistakes, she decided. Working on Sue proved to be challenging, she needed a different approach.

He wondered if he should go on with his plan. Seeing her fleeing from the bullpen hurt him and he felt helpless. He needed to do something about it, he felt like it was his fault. Of course it’s your fault! He frowned at the sudden remark his mind seemed to throw at him. You know very well that this woman is not your sister…

He had a wonderful idea and if only he could find the courage to do it. Jack Hudson, you are a coward… he flinched and looked around him to see if anyone noticed. You were in love with this woman for years and yet never found the courage to tell her your feelings. Now be an elf…

Jack frowned.

Now be a man and go after her!

He pursed his lips and sighed. Could he really do that?

For Santa’s sake…his mind continued his assault; please do something or I will loose my job. You must be the hardest headed couple I have ever seen…children solve problems better then you two! Go over there and sweep her off her feet!

“Alright!” He shouted and then flushed under the surprised looks of his team mates. Clearing his throat, he reached for his coat. “I’m gonna take the rest of the day off.” He announced before leaving the bullpen

Dewberry wondered if Jack would take much longer and she took a peek at the small table with delicious steamy food. Jack sure did make an effort, she grinned; the table was set for two and Jack lit two scented candles. On the living room table stood a large bouquet of roses and lilies and Jack was standing next to it, opening a bottle of red wine. He put the bottle on the table and slowly crept towards Sue’s bedroom.

Sue was still asleep and Jack frowned; he knew she was asleep for a long time and was worried that she didn’t wake up. He sat beside her on the bed, taking in her delicate features as she slept. His hand moved to caress her hair and she moaned in her sleep, leaning into his touch. The room was dark and he smiled when he thought that he could get used to see her like that, her calm features, her closed eyes, her soft breathe, her blue hair. He would love to wake her with his kiss till the end of eternity.

Dewberry held her breath as he slowly lowered his head and kissed her gently, his lips just barely touching hers. Sue’s eyes fluttered open and Jack smiled at her. She grinned back and closed her eyes again, her hands moving to his hair, caressing before pulling him down to another kiss.

Sue was in a wonderful state of dream. She knew she slept for a long time and she had all sorts of happy Christmas dreams. But now, finally, he was in her dream again and she had every intention of taking advantage of the situation. Her hands moved from his hair down to his back and crept under his sweater. She was surprised when her hand encountered hot skin and moaned when he deepened the kiss, his tongue caressing hers and his hand cupping her face softly.

He was surprised, at first, by her bold actions but decided he will enjoy the moment and explain later. He shifted his body and was now almost completely on top of her, oblivious to everything but her taste and her touch. It was everything he ever dreamed of. He wondered how he could feel so whole with just a kiss. He could stay here all night, in the dark, kissing her till his last breathe. He lowered his head and trailed kisses along her neck, smiling when she gave him excess and moaned his name.

Sue’s hands moved restlessly and she smiled when they encountered the buttons on his shirt. She never did unbutton them in her dreams and was delighted at the opportunity. Her hands caressed softly and he arched into her, moaning her name to the hollow of her neck.

Sue’s eyes opened when his groan vibrated through her body and she swallowed hard, suddenly realizing she wasn’t dreaming anymore. She pushed hard, surprised when he tumbled down, almost pulling her with him to the floor.

Dewberry ran from the room, afraid that her loud laughter will be heard.

Bad Sue! Not the reaction you should have when you wake up from dreaming about Jack only to find out you weren't dreaming! Instead you should be .

“Jack!” Sue exclaimed, covering herself with the blanket.

“Sue.” He said. “Err…it’s nice of you to wake up.” He mumbled.

The sudden realization that it was her dream coming true made her consider joining him on the floor and continue kissing him but a rational, and very annoying, part of her mind registered the fact that he was not supposed to be in her bedroom. “What are you doing here?” She asked, her hands moving to her blue hair.

Jack shifted in his position on the floor. He breathed hard and then everything just spilled from his mouth. “Sue, I made a mistake a few days ago.” He started and then hesitated. “Do you remember when I told you that I care for you like a sister?” Sue nodded her head. “I didn’t mean to say that.”

“You don’t care about me?”

Dewberry hit her head with her hand.

“I do, I do.” He assured her. “But not like a sister. Much, much more then a sister.” Sue stared at him and he decided that the best way to explain was to demonstrate. He rose from his position on the floor and pulled her after him, leading her towards the living room. Sue gasped when she saw the table and smelled the delicious food that rested on their plates.

“You made dinner?”

He nodded his head and then shook it. “No, I got it from your favorite Italian restaurant.” He saw the flash of disappointment in her eyes and pulled her after him towards the kitchen. “But I tried, Sue, I really did try.” She gasped at the messy kitchen and the few broken bowls. “I’m sorry about that; I promise that I will clean everything. You just sit back and enjoy the food.”

They had a quiet dinner and afterwards they sat together on the sofa. Jack held her hand in his and breathed deeply before talking again. “I don’t want to scare you.” He said and then smiled, signing some of the words he knew while he spoke. “I told you that I care for you like a sister because I was afraid. The truth is that I want you in my life not as my sister or my partner…much more.”

Sue smiled. “Maybe we can talk about it over dinner tomorrow?”

Jack grinned at her and his hand moved to caress her blue hair. He raised his glass of wine. “For tomorrow.” He said.

She smiled and raised her own glass, chuckling when his fingers twirled a lock of blue hair around them. “For a different light.” She smiled. “It was my Christmas wish.”

“A different light?” Jack wondered and then smiled. “It wasn’t your light that needed to be different. Your light shines from the inside. I was the one who needed a different light, and good dose courage, to show me the way to your heart.”

Dewberry grinned and clicked her fingers. She wasn’t sure if it will work but she still tried. She laughed at Jack’s startled cry when the hair around his fingers turned blond with red highlights. “You’re beautiful no matter what.” He whispered and they both leaned for a soft, gentle kiss.

Dewberry drank her hot chocolate and smiled at the sight before her. Jack and Sue danced closely together at the Christmas ball. Behind her Santa chuckled and took another sip from his own cup. “So, Dewberry, what have you learned from your last assignment?” his rich voice echoed around the room.

Dewberry grinned, eyeing the bright Christmas tree and the toys that filled every corner of the room. “That I have no future as a hair dresser.” Santa laughed and she continued. “I learned that adult humans are most complicated and need therapy.” She took another sip and whistled when Jack twirled Sue around and then held her tightly. “I learned that wishes are never what they seem to be.”

Santa raised his glass in the air. “And you learned that the true light comes from the inside, my dear.”

“And also that men are often attracted to women with blue hair…” She quipped.

“Dewberry!!”

Very far away from the North Pole, Jack and Sue danced to their own music. Jack didn’t notice that the band stopped playing and Sue just followed his lead, her head leaning on his shoulder. He leaned to kiss her hair and inhaled soft scent. His hand moved on its own, signing as they danced. I love you. He smiled when she raised her head and gazed at him. Her eyes shined and she smiled at him. She raised her head a little and kissed his lips softly. “I love you too, Jack.”

that was so sweet! Great ending loved how every thing worked out. Sue with blue hair funny scene but i felt so bad for her, how some one can mistake red highlights for blue i don't know but it added a great twist to the story.
