There's a short conversation in sign language, I'm not sure of the grammatcal structure of ASL so I've based it on the grammatical structure of BSL, I hope you don't mind.
Sairs~*~*~*~
Jack walked with Sue, Lucy had taken home Levi and his new friend earlier and they had promised they would help with the new addition to their family after stopping by to check on Bobby and Tara.
As they walked Jack’s mind kept returning to Bobby and that afternoon, he realised that he would have felt just like Bobby if it had been Sue in the house instead of Tara. He also realised that he’d wasted far too much time, tomorrow was never a certainty. As they entered Tara’s apartment Jack decided he couldn’t wait another moment, he reached out and gently touched Sue’s shoulder, she turned to look at him, a questioning look on her face.
“Is there something wrong, Jack?” she asked, noticing the strange look that had taken over his face.
He nervously rubbed his hands together and then inhaled deeply before beginning to speak, “Sue, we’ve known each other a long time, haven’t we?”
She nodded, confused as to why he needed to travel down memory lane now.
“Today made me think,” he paused, his mind desperately trying to find the words he so desperately needed to speak.
“Think about what?” Sue prompted gently.
“Us.”
“Us?”
“Yes, Sue us,” he closed the distance between them and gently grasped one of her hands in his own. He pulled her hand towards his chest and placed it over the place where he thought his heart was. “When you walked into my life nearly four years ago, you captured a small part of my heart, as I’ve grown to know you more and more of my heart has stopped belonging to me,” he smiled. “In fact, Sue all of my heart now belongs to you. I’ve realised that I’ve wasted far too much time circling my feelings for you, hiding away from you, but today made me realise that you can never be sure that you’ll see tomorrow, you have to live today. I don’t want to spend another day without you, Sue, you’re the reason I wake up in the morning, your smile brightens my day and your heart is beautiful.” He noticed a tear escaping Sue’s eye, he gently released her hand and wiped the tear away from her cheek before beginning to sign as he spoke, “Sue Thomas, you are the light of my world. I love you.”
She was lost for words, Jack’s speech had been filled with passion and love, the last part signed as well as spoken, the signs whirring in her head, he had said he loved her, was she dreaming? “You love me?” she asked nervously, scared that she had misread everything and maybe she had been confused.
He grinned, “Yes Sue Thomas, I Jack Hudson love you.”
She smiled, her heart soaring with his confession, she’d spent years dreaming of this moment, never sure if she would ever get the chance to read those words tumbling from his lips. At that moment words failed her so she decided to sign, “I love you,” she signed, her face lit with one of the most beautiful smiles Jack had ever seen.
Jack closed the distance between them further and gently placed his hands on her cheeks, pulling her head towards him, slowly he moved his lips over hers, placing the most gentlest of kisses on them. To his delight she returned his kiss, gently moving her lips against his. Falling into the kiss and the desire for the woman before him, he gently asked to deepen the kiss, within moments she opened her lips allowing him to kiss her with every part of his heart and soul. The world around them melted away, lost in the other’s arms and finally declaring their love.

They entered Tara’s room to find Bobby still keeping watch at her bedside, he’d fallen asleep his head resting against the edge of her bed, his hand still encircled around Tara’s smaller one.
Jack signed to Sue so that they didn’t disturb them, “Bags we leave there.”
Sue nodded in agreement.
“Both them sleep, need rest. Tomorrow phone me, check Tara ok.”
Sue signed back, “Agree me. Go home now check dogs Lucy.”
Jack nodded and took Sue’s hand in his leading them both out of Tara’s hospital room, they still had more to talk about when they got home.

The next time she woke up the sun was shining through the window, she squinted to remove some of the pain of the light in her eyes, but the pain wasn’t as bad as it had been the day before. She slowly moved her head, looking for Bobby, she could feel his hand still holding hers, and finally she saw the outline of his body leaning against the bed. His back rising and falling as he breathed deeply, he had fallen asleep. She didn’t want to wake him, so she closed her eyes again, the darkness appealing.

She heard movement in the room and opened her eyes, a friendly looking nurse was checking her IV, “Morning, sweetie, decided to join us, did you?” the nurse said cheerily.
Tara smiled, “Yes, I feel much better,” she replied, thinking that her head only had a dull ache instead of a dancing brigade of elephants she’d experienced the day before.
“Well, Doctor Green will be in to check on you shortly and then you and your fine young man will be able to go home. You do realise he hasn’t left your side since you came here, don’t you?” The nurse asked quietly as she checked Tara’s pulse.
Tara smiled, “I’m really lucky, aren’t I?”
“Yes, sweetie, there aren’t many women who have their partners spend the entire night next to them in a very uncomfortable chair. I bet when he wakes up he’s stiff,” she chuckled quietly.
“Well that will make two of us with aches and pains, he’ll be able to empathise.”
“That he will, sweetie. Now I’m going to remove your IV, it might sting a little but you don’t need it anymore. If you’re lucky your breakfast will be here shortly, if you’re given the choice I’d take the cereal. The chef doesn’t seem to have mastered the art of scrambled eggs yet.”
Tara giggled.
“What?” the nurse asked, curious about what had made Tara laugh.
“Scrambled eggs must be a difficult dish to master because I know someone else who can’t cook them, either,” she replied nodding towards Bobby’s sleeping form.
“Well I’d say cooking’s the least of his worries, he has so many other things to worry about at the moment and I’d say you’re top of his list.”
Tara’s smile faded slightly, “I guess I’ve given him a pretty scary few hours.”
“But he’ll get over it, sweetie, you’re still here and I understand you’re getting married next week.”
Tara’s smiled widened, “Yes, we’re getting married on Valentine’s day.”
“How romantic,” the nurse replied filling in the information on Tara’s chart.
“He is, isn’t he?”
“Well, sweetie you get your rest, because as soon as the doctor discharges you and your fiancé will be on your way home. Don’t’ forget, plenty of rest, especially if you want to enjoy your wedding!” The nurse replied before heading out of the door.

The Doctor had left half an hour ago and Tara was getting herself dressed as Bobby waited nervously in the corridor. She hadn’t realised how difficult it was getting dressed her fingers felt as though they were inside a thick pair of gloves, manipulating buttons and zips was incredibly difficult. Eventually after what seemed like an eternity she was finally ready. “Bobby!” she called and waited for him to enter.
“Are you alright, love?” he asked through a crack in the door,
“I’m fine, in fact I’m more than fine I’m ready to go home,” she called.
The door opened wider, “Okay then, let’s go,” he replied taking her arm with one hand and her bag with the other.

There may even be another part tonight!
Depends how I get on with the typing part... it's quite hard to type with my dog in desperate need of hugs, but we're getting there, bless her she had an op today and I think I'll be keeping her company all night, so there might be plenty of typing opportunities, in between comfort. Although that will depend if I can type when suffering from sleep deprivation!
Take care,
