I think I know what Sue saw... Jack's grave... it was only flash from the past.... I think it's logical the mirror disappeared... this mirror gave them the possibility to change their future...
Can't wait for more!!!!
btw... I love Bobby and Tara are married!!!!

The mirror, the tombstone (Jack's and Bobby's?) - it's all coming together now. Maybe this will trigger a memory for Sue, so she can understand what happened on februari 14th...
How terrible for them to have kept their marriage a secret! I really hope the new addition to the Hudson family will be the reason for a positive decission by the 'upstairs brass'.
Wonderful story, Marlo!!!

I too love how you're pulling everything together now

My guess would also be she saw something on the grave that gave her a flashback to what had happened then.
Jack and Sue expecting their first child
Bobby and Tara got married

Lucy also found her happyness
And aunt Gertie will rest in peace now that she knows everything turned out okay, thanks to her mirror and her believing in mirracles

I want you all to myself.
Loved that line and the Quarantine.
Wondering where you're headed with this tombstone business. And is Sue still going to be able to hear when all this is over??

She fell asleep at the sound of the music mixed with the steady comforting rhythm of her husband's heart.
...I don't know why it struck me - just did.
Now - just what did Sue see?????

The silver sword he held in his hand deflected rays of sunlight over the shiny surfaces of the tombstones. His cloak was in place, but for a moment he knew she caught sight of him …one last vestige of her experience.
“Sweetheart?” cupping her face. Her hands instinctively went to his chest where she could feel the pounding of his heart.
“I'm fine, Jack”, she assured him. “Lights are playing tricks on me.” Maybe when they were alone she would tell him she thought she saw a lone knight in shining armour riding over the hill on a black stallion, the picture bringing a huge grin on her face. Jack would be laughing his head off at her wild imagination. “Would you take me home, please?”
“With pleasure”, indulging in one more kiss, before heading for the exit.
He watched the crowd disperse, his piercing blue eyes squinting in the sun, the same light blue eyes his male descendants were still inheriting from him century later. He ran his gloved fingers into his curly blond hair, waiting patiently for the last visitors to leave, before guiding his spirited mount down the hill.
Behind his saddle, securely fastened, was a package wrapped into a linen cloth. Only someone having previously seen its shape would recognise the ancient mirror.
Respectfully, he knelt on one knee in front of Gertrude's grave, his sword by his side.
“Last keeper of the mirror”, his deep baritone voice echoing in the deserted cemetery. “The timeline has been restored. You did …good”, unaccustomed to praise. A smile curled up his lips, the deep scar across his face twitching under the unfamiliar gesture. “I will be joining you shortly in the next realm.”
