A quick post before i go to work. will try another post tonight but i have a sign language class so may not have time. some fuzzies but a blast from the past arrives- enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chapter 16

Sitting on Jack’s bed later when he had been moved to his own room, Sue held his hand and prayed quietly for him. Leaning forward she kissed him lightly on the forehead then started to talk to him. She wanted to hold him tight as she had in the van but with the tubes and wires it was impossible, without risking dislodging some of them. ‘Bobby rang your parents, they’re coming down Monday, Director’s OK he’s gone home – I think there could be something starting with him and Martha – heck I sound like Luce now don’t I matchmaking?........................ The doc’s happy with your progress, it’s as well I can’t sleep they’re in here every 15 minutes checking you over. When you wake up I need to tell you something. Something I should have told you a long time ago……………….’
Taking a deep breath she continued ‘Jack I’m in love with you, I have been almost from the day we met. ………….. I love you so much Jack……….’

As Emerald and Sapphire hugged and high-fived Sue thought to herself ‘and now all I need to do is tell him while he’s awake’.

As Jack remained unconscious Sue reflected on the past few years of her life since she’d met him, desperately wanting to sleep having had very little over the past 3 nights but wanting to be awake when Jack wakes. As she sat in the chair beside his bed she held his hand and continued to pray, her prayers and thoughts interrupted by the nurse coming in to run the necessary checks.

In the early hours of Saturday morning Jack woke up, squeezing her hand to gain her attention. ‘Sue? ……………………………. What happened?’ He asked as she turned to look at him.

‘Jack? Oh, thank God’ she squealed as she threw her arms around him and hugged him, hoping she hadn’t dislodged anything important.

As she moved away he grinned ‘Well, whatever it was I won’t complain. Waking up to that was a real bonus.’

Punching him on the shoulder she told him quietly ‘It was your heart, you collapsed in the van about 10 minutes after they loaded you in to go to the meet.’

‘You got them though?’ he asked, annoyed that he was alone with Sue but was still thinking first and foremost like an agent about the job. ‘God, please help me to tell her how I feel.’ He thought as she began to speak.

‘Yeah, all 3 – Directors Ok, he went home last night and he said to tell you the policy is history and you’d know what he meant.’

‘Good…………… I need to talk to you about something……………… I………………’ and with that he fell asleep again.


Chapter 17

Waking much later and seeing Sue awake sitting on his bed holding his hand and looking at him, Jack took a deep breath.

Emerald and Sapphire were poised with their arrows, waiting for the moment, unaware that Charlene was present.

‘Sue, I need to tell you something, something I should have told you years ago…………. Don’t interrupt please because I might never start again if I stop……….’

Seeing her nod he began to speak. ‘I’m in love with you Sue. I have been since I first met you, you are the most important thing in my life…………. I wake up thinking about you, I go to sleep thinking about you…. I dream about you………… I live for the time we can spend together whether at work or eating or walking Levi…………whatever we do…..…….. When we’re not together I feel like part of me is missing. I‘ve never said anything before because I didn’t think you felt the same, but when I was feeling rough it was the thought of seeing you again that kept me going, even when my chest felt like it was going to explode and the pain was incredible. …. I wanted this chance to tell you how I felt and see if what we have can become something more but………………………………..’
As his voice trailed off he looked at the floor, afraid of the rejection he was certain was coming.

‘But? ………………………………….’ Sue prompted.

‘But I thought you’d want someone who is deaf, a man who you can communicate easily with, who doesn’t forget to look at you or keep you in the loop, a man who doesn’t sign one thing and say something else………………………….I was afraid I wasn’t good enough for you, all that you’d want in a husband………………….The reason I don’t want to do the auction is because you are the only woman I want to date……………ever. I love you Sue.’

Emerald and Sapphire watched silently with tears in their eyes ‘Boy, he takes his time but when he speaks you get it all.’ Emerald whispered.

Watching Sue carefully and seeing tears in her eyes Jack was convinced he’d blown it. ‘Shoulda kept your mouth shut, Hudson……….’ He thought as silent seconds ticked by, feeling like hours to Jack.

‘So, are you proposing there, Hudson?’ she asked smiling shyly at him.

‘Eh?’ he mumbled, looking at the floor confused.

‘You mentioned’ husband’ as well as dating.’ Lifting his chin and looking into his eyes which still looked pretty rough but still incredibly sexy her smile lit her face ‘I love you too Jack……………… I have done since Bobby’s party, but I didn’t think you’d want to date someone who is deaf…………………………….’

Pulling her forward his lips found hers and their kiss blew all memories of Callaghan and Merced right out the window. Moving apart they both signed and said ’WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW.’

As the cherubs looked on, Emerald asked ‘which arrow do we need?.................’

‘You don’t’ Charlene replied ‘They’ll need laughter in the week, romance on Saturday and lust when they marry. Jack knows Sue wants to wait and he respects that. Now they have finally admitted their feelings, they won’t wait long before marrying. It was good timing cherubs……………………………..’

Confused still, the cherubs looked on, in between hugging each and cheering.

‘Guess I’d better withdraw from the auction, since I’m no longer eligible.’ Jack considered.

Flirting with him Sue said ‘I could always buy you, although it had better be a very good date and your skating had better have improved. I’m not spending all my time picking you up off the ice, Hudson.’ She stood and placed her left hand on her hip and shook her right index finger at him, as she laughed at the forlorn expression on his face.

‘I have a confession Sue I can figure skate a little, it was an excuse to stay close to you………… gotta admit it worked!!’

‘Jack Hudson, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, you are a sly and devious man……………….’

‘That is so unfair, Thomas, come here’ Reaching out he pulled her into his arms and hugged her as best as he could and captured her lips.’

Hearing the door he moved away signing as he did so, expecting to see a doctor or one of the team. Choking on his words he mumbled ‘Allie?...........................’

All caught up....Great job....Welcome to the board...beware, it can be very addicting...but, as my husband always says, there could be way worse things to be addicted to....

Allie...why do people insist on bringing her into our happy fanfic land? Time to get rid of her....

Chapter 18

‘Is that what you meant by good timing?’ Emerald asked.

‘Yes, if they hadn’t talked Sue would have run, thinking Jack wanted Allie. Now she’s confident of their love she’ll stay.’ Charlene replied, reflecting on how close Sue had been to telling Jack she loved him when he had his first attack but had pulled back when Allie walked in………………………..

‘Wh…………….Wh……….what are you doing here?’ Jack stammered, holding Sue’s hand tightly.

Leaning forward Allie kissed Jack on the lips as he tried to move away, somewhat restricted by tubes and wires.

‘Your mum phoned my mum, she phoned me, so I took a week off to look after you, drove down yesterday and booked into a hotel and here I am. Give me your keys and I‘ll fetch your things and move my bags into your apartment. You’re look pretty rough, Jackson. Not been looking after yourself?’

‘That was a kind thought, Allie but I’ve got Sue to look after me. Remember her?’

‘Yeah……………..’ Looking down her nose at her Allie continued ‘haven’t done a great job so far have you?’

Feeling Sue move away Jack held her hand tighter whispering ‘don’t you dare go anywhere Sue.’ Thinking to himself that he really needed to have words with his mum about ringing Allies’ mum all the time. ‘Puts some of our intelligence gathering to shame’ he thought.

Turning to Allie he asked ‘So……………exactly what did mum say?’

‘That you’d had another attack, and they couldn’t get down till Monday, some family thing they’ve got to go to.’ Allie answered oblivious to the fact that Jack was holding Sue’s hand.

‘I was kidnapped 5 days ago, which is why I’m looking ‘rough’ as you put it, nothing to do with Sue. Now, I appreciate the thought but I want you to leave please. I’ve got Sue now, we’re dating…………………..’
Glaring at them, Allie stormed out of the room, slamming the door behind her.

Holding Sue’s hand, Jack pulled her close so she could see his face, seeing uncertainty flash across her beautiful features. ‘Sue I want you to see this and understand it and know I mean it with all of my heart, even if the heart is a bit ropey at the moment. I had a history with Allie but I have a present and a future with you. Allie means nothing to me now and hasn’t for a long time. She didn’t when I had my first attack – I wanted to tell you then how I felt when she turned up; lousy timing but I think we’ve had a lot of lousy timing in the years we’ve known each other. I thought I’d blown it when you started dating David…………………………..’ He wanted to sign but was limited by holding Sue's hand with one and with drips and tubes in the other, so he just prayed she would read enough from the words and his face.

‘Hudson, shut up and kiss me………………’

Totally engrossed in the kiss, Jack didn’t hear the door open. ‘Mmmm, now I know why Allie nearly sent me flying in the corridor.’ Moving away, Jack pointed to Myles, looking up Sue began to blush.

‘Guess you’re feeling better then, Jack’ Myles grinned at them, glad they had finally talked…. ‘and a bit more besides’ he thought wickedly.

‘Yeah, just need the doc to tell me I can go home, I’m starving…………………………’

‘Thought you might be so I brought bagels and coffee, figured hospital food probably wasn’t up to much…………….’

Leaving Jack and Myles to eat and talk, Sue went to find a doctor. Checking him over he told Jack ‘you can go home but only if you have someone with you and you promise to take it easy. Everything is as it should be but you must take it slowly, you’ve been through a rough time and you need time to recover fully…………’

‘Can I go back to work Monday?’ Jack asked hopefully.

‘Sorry, which bit of ‘take it easy’ did you not understand?’ The doctor asked sharply. ‘You can go back Wednesday but only if you’re desk bound. I’ll see you Friday and if everything is Ok you can be fully operational Monday. ‘ Walking out he shook his head in frustration thinking ‘these agents, they think they’re Superman…………..’

As the doc left Pete walked in ‘Hi, Jack how you doing? Sue, you OK?’

‘I’m good doc says I can go home and go back to work Wednesday, although I’m tied to a desk till Monday.’

‘Sure you want to go to work?’

‘Yeah, I’ll go nuts at home on my own.’ Jack replied thinking ‘at least if I’m at work I’ll be with Sue………….’
‘How are you doing, Sir?’
‘I’m OK, spent time with the family, nothing like sleeping in your own bed to help put things back in place. I came by to say ‘Thank you’, you did a good job. You weren’t awake yesterday when I thanked the rest of the team.’
Raising his eyebrows and looking at Sue, Pete asked the silent question relieved to see Jack nod and grin. ‘Look after her, Jack’ he said as he walked out.

Chapter 19

Sitting in Jack’s apartment while he showered and changed Sue noticed a photo she hadn’t seen before of her and Jack on their ‘wedding day’. Feeling his breath on her neck and his arms move around her waist she turned to face him, noticing he only had a towel wrapped around his waist. As he leant forward to kiss her she pulled away. ‘Sorry, Jack no kiss till you shave, beard and moustache don’t do it for me and don’t pull those puppy-dog eyes, it doesn’t work for Levi and it won’t for you.’

‘Ahh Sue, it didn’t matter in hospital…………..’ he pouted.

‘You didn’t have access to a razor then, Hudson………………’

‘You are a wicked woman, Thomas.’ He flirted with her.

‘Go and pack a bag, you can stay with us till Monday when your parents arrive – you can use my room, I’ll use the hide-a-bed. And hurry up, I need to get back and walk Levi, Luce has gone to her Gran’s.’

‘So, we get the place to ourselves do we?’ He flashed a grin at her which reached his eyes and caused her heart to do somersaults.

‘Yup and I have a whole pile of chick flicks for you to watch………………..’

As they chatted and laughed Emerald and Sapphire had a very warm feeling about their job.

‘Chick flicks? You are a sly and devious woman, Thomas. I’m wishing I hadn’t told you I loved you, you already have me wrapped around your little finger.’
Tossing back her hair, Sue picked up her phone ‘want me to ring Allie then, Sparky?’

Grabbing her phone he began to tickle her ‘Don’t you dare…’ falling on the couch together he moved in for a kiss. Unable to stop him she relaxed into his arms. Coming up for air he made sure she could read his lips ‘I love you Sue; I can’t believe it took me so long to tell you.’

‘Neither can I’. Sue, Emerald and Sapphire thought at the same time.
‘Better late than never, now prove it by having a shave – GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!’ She pushed him off the couch and pointed to the bathroom laughing at his crestfallen face.

Chapter 20

Taking Levi for a walk later they had their arms wrapped around each other, not content just to hold hands, they wanted to be as close as possible.
Hearing his phone ring, Jack stopped, signing ‘phone’ and pulling Sue closer while he spoke.
‘Hudson……………….. I’ll ask………………You can save me from an afternoon of chick flicks……………..’

‘It’s Bobby and Tara, wondering if we wanted to go round to his this afternoon.’

‘Invite them round, I’ll cook dinner ………………. don’t look at me like that, Jack.’

Closing his phone he moaned ‘but I wanted to spend time with you, start to make up for all the time we’ve wasted………………….’

‘When they leave we’ll turn all the phones off, have time together tomorrow, OK?’

‘Sounds like a plan, Sue.’ Pulling her even closer they shared a kiss until Levi jumped up. ‘Guess he’s fed up of waiting for his walk,’ Jack laughed at the dog, ruffling his fur.

Watching a ball game later while the girls were talking and watching the auction videos on the computer, Bobby commented ‘Sue says you’ll be back at work Wednesday. Don’t you want to spend more time with your parents?

Shaking his head violently and making sure Sue couldn’t see Jack answered ‘No .............two days of same old, same old will be more than enough.’
Seeing the confusion on Bobby’s face he continued ‘She wants me to leave the bureau – we have this discussion, if that’s what you can call it, every time anything happens to me – she wants me in a safe, 9-5 office job, where I’ll be bored out of my skull. Then there is the other subject close to her heart – me and Allie getting back together. So…………. telling Allie to leave today will not have made her happy.’

‘You’re not introducing them to Sue, then?’

‘No, I’d like Sue to get used to the idea of us being together before she meets my mother and is totally put off it as a plan for the future.’ Jack tried to smile and make a joke but it was nowhere near being convincing.

‘You don’t think they’ll like her then?’

‘Dad will; he’ll be great but mum’s not good with people who are ‘different’. So Sue not being Allie and being deaf will be a lot for her to deal with. I know how she will react and I’m not putting Sue through that just yet………………….’

‘Won’t she expect to meet them?’

Shaking his head Jack continued ‘No, she’s already said she’ll meet them another time – give me some time alone with them, she knows I’ve not seen them for a while, what with working Christmas last year. Two days without seeing Sue, it already feels like an eternity. ‘

‘You’ve got it bad Sparky, but Tara and I are happy for you, it’s been a long time coming. When are they down?’

‘Arrive Monday lunchtime, leave Tuesday about 5pm so I’ll see them off then take Sue for dinner.’

Hearing the girls call they both looked up.

‘Tara and I have decided that we want to go bowling tomorrow night, us 2 against you 2. Losers buy dinner so be prepared to pay.’ Sue told them as she and Tara hugged each other and high-fived.

‘Like that’s gonna happen.’ Bobby grinned.

Later looking at the desert Sue has made, Jack realised it was the ice cream desert she'd made when they were undercover. ‘Guys, you have to taste this it’s wonderful, isn’t it Levi?’ He looked down at Levi who was wagging his tail and looking hopeful. ‘You taste this, Crash and ice-cream with chocolate sauce will never be the same again.’

‘You made this for him?....................... No wonder he didn’t want the undercover to end.’ Tara commented, ’I want the recipe.’

‘Did my ‘husband’ tell you what he did? Ate it right out of the bowl.’ Sue laughed, hitting Jack on the shoulder. ‘And gave Levi some…………………’

‘He looked at me with those big brown eyes, I couldn’t resist. You would never have known if his nose hadn’t got in the way while I put a spoonful in his dish…………..’ Jack looked at her with his puppy dog eyes and grinned.

While Bobby and Tara continued to eat and commented on how heavenly it was, Sue passed Jack his bowl, glancing down at it. As Jack looked down he noticed that she’d poured the chocolate sauce to say ‘I’ and ‘U’ with a heart shape in the middle. Looking up at her, his eyes a little damp he whispered ‘Love you too’ so Sue could read his lips but Tara and Bobby couldn’t hear. As he saw her smile at him his heart began thumping wildly.

Awwww that was so cute. They are so meant for each other. I'm glad Jack finally had the courage to get rid of Allie this time. Although I still have this weird feeling she will pop up again. But maybe I'm just being paranoid. Well anyway I love this story. Please keep it coming.

Thanks for Jack sticking up for Sue when Allie came on the scene, but now I'm worried about his mum.

Chapter 21

The following evening the 4 cherubs fired off their laughter arrows which hit their targets, dead centre. The girls won the first two games cheating madly, making the guys laugh as they were about to bowl and flirting outrageously with them so they couldn’t concentrate. ‘Not that we would have needed to do it to win, but it was fun.’ Tara told them as they sulked. ‘Can’t believe they beat us.’ Bobby moaned to Jack, secretly loving the way Tara fluttered her eyelashes and blew kisses at him.

Watching Tara and Bobby together, Sue pulled Jack to one side; ‘I think we should play them for this game – look at them, they’re great together.’

‘Only if I get a kiss, Sue,’ Jack fluttered his eyes at her and grinned.

‘You are a hopeless flirt, Hudson.’ She laughed.

‘I don’t need to flirt, I’ve got my woman.’ Pulling her close he wrapped his arms around her and lent in for a kiss.

‘You may have me, Sparky but you still have to keep me,‘ she kissed him on the cheek.

‘Whatever it takes, now I’ve got you, I don’t plan on ever losing you. I love you, Sue.’

‘I love you too, Jack.’

‘So, do I get my kiss?’

Picking up his hand she kissed it ‘there you go, Sparky, that’s it’

Walking over to Tara and Bobby, Sue suggested the new pairings. Looking serious Bobby asked ‘can you 2 keep your hands off each other long enough to play?’ As Jack and Sue blushed Tara hit him on the shoulder ‘leave them alone, Skippy, it’s taken them long enough.’

‘Skippy?’ Sue asked ‘did I read that right?’

‘Yeah, he was telling me about this programme he watched when he was a kid in Australia, about a kangaroo called Skippy, helped find lost children, capture the bad guys, all that – an Aussie version of Lassie I think.’ She finger spelled ‘S-K-I-P-P-Y’ as she spoke. ‘That’s my special nickname for him, now.’ As she spoke Bobby wrapped his arms around her and blew kisses in her ears, causing her legs to go to mush..

Flying in to watch, Charlene was pleased with the cherubs. ’You’ve done a good job with your assignments; Jack and Sue are on course for a long and very happy marriage and Bobby and Tara are laying the foundations for marriage. I had my doubts about you at first but not now…………….’

Driving Tara home after dinner, Bobby kissed her gently goodnight on the doorstep. ‘Umm…………..,Tara……….I was wondering if you would like to go out with me? I really like you, I have done for a while………………… err……………’

Throwing her arms around him with difficulty because of the height difference, Tara squealed ‘yes, yes, yes……………………’

Leaning down Bobby wrapped his arms around her and kissed her gently. As she responded, he deepened it. Moving apart for some air they both thought back to their first kiss and wondered why they had fought against their feelings for so long.

Sitting on the couch, his feet on the coffee table, Sue lying asleep with her head on his lap and Levi at his feet, Jack thought that he really could get used to life like that.

And no one broke anything with a bowling ball!!!

Love it. The snuggles, the winks, the laughter. Laughter arrows rule!

Chapter 22

The following Saturday all the cherubs were present with their assignments, along with Amethyst and Jacinth who were with JP and Norah. Picking Sue up at 7PM, Jack presented her with a large bouquet of red roses. She was wearing a shimmering black dress which hugged her tightly, accentuating her curves but still modest. Looking at her, his chin hit the floor and Jack thought his heart was about to give out it was beating so quickly. ‘You look beautiful’ he signed as he spoke in case his words weren’t coherent. Leaning forward he pulled her close and found her lips as Lucy took a photo. Laughing Sue told him ‘It’s been like living with the paparazzi again. All day she’s been taking pictures – says she’s practising for tonight.’

As they posed for another photo, arms wrapped around each other there was a knock at the door. As Myles walked in he looked in amazement at both ladies – Luce was wearing a stunning ruby red dress and looked a million dollars. Presenting her with a bouquet of yellow roses and freesias, Myles was aware that if it wasn’t for their dating history he really could fancy her. Grabbing the camera Sue took a photo of Lucy and Myles as Diamond and Opal shot their laughter arrows and a small romance arrow. Emerald and Sapphire shot Sue and Jack with a hefty dose of romance in the centre of their hearts.

At Tara’s Bobby was equally dumbstruck at the sight of Tara who was wearing an emerald green dress which accentuated her eyes. ‘Sure hope she’s my date’ he thought to himself. ‘I’ll have a heck of a job taking anyone else to the concert……………..’
As they walked to Bobby’s car, arms around each other Jasper and Onyx fired off their romance arrows which also hit their intended targets.

Sitting with Jack as he drove to the gala Sue asked the question which had been bothering her all week ‘What about the no dating policy, Jack?’

Turning a little so she could read his lips but so he could also drive safely he explained ‘It’s not an issue anymore, it’s been scrapped………….. but if it hadn’t been I would have changed units to be with you. Those few days gave me time to think, something changed inside and I knew that whatever happened I wanted to be with you and that was more important than anything else. I love you Sue…………..’

As they arrived they saw Randy and Eleanor locked in what could best be described as a hot and passionate embrace, oblivious to everyone else around them.

After the meal Randy and Eleanor stood up to announce the results of the auction, both wearing lustful expressions. His stomach churning at the sight, Jack turned to Sue and mumbled ‘at least we saved Hannah from that awful fate.’

‘…………………………………. and finally we come to the FBI group,’ Randy announced grandly before turning to Eleanor and whispering ‘a sorrier looking bunch you’ll never see’ forgetting that Sue could read his lips. Topaz thought some very unheavenly thoughts about him and had an overwhelming desire to put a couple of bricks in her bag and either hit Randy over the head with it or drop it on him from a great height.

‘First up JP’ he continued as JP stood to his feet. ‘The winning bid came from Miss Lucy Dotson…………….’ As luce jumped up and down in excitement, JP flashed her a shy grin and Amethyst shot him with some laughter and romance.

Ok.........I just caught up....all mushy and fluffy and fuzzy headed.......and then I read "And the winner is Allie?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Oh, Say it ain't so!

Since you all asked so nicely……………

As Jack slumped into his seat wondering if this was a nightmare he’d wake up from soon, everyone looked over at him, stunned. Even the cherubs who had been merrily cart wheeling and dancing around the room stopped in their tracks wondering if the great Scriptwriter had lost the plot.

Watching him hold his head in his hands Tara turned to Bobby ‘This isn’t right, I hack……. err………… I know Sue had the highest bid. This is a job for the FBI, come on……………’ Standing up she dragged Bobby away from the table and over to Eleanor and Randy as Allie glided over to Jack. ‘Well, Jackson, looks like it’s me and you. I love ice skating and a romantic walk……. By the time the evening is over you won’t be dating poor little deaf girl anymore…………………’

Reading her lips but choosing to ignore her and aware that Jack was dangerously close to doing or saying something which would cost him his job, Sue took him by the hand and led him to the dance floor. Placing one hand inside his jacket so she could feel his skin she watched his lips as he began to speak ‘I’m sorry, Sue I should have pulled out………..’

‘’It’s OK; I know she’s fiddled it somehow, if necessary we can double date- I’ll borrow Bobby. I’m sure Curtis Sandford could get us tickets for the game. Bobby can take care of her and I’ll take care of you…………………..’

Grinning at her said ‘I appreciate that, the taking care bit, but I’m not sure I like the idea of you dating my best mate ………………..’

‘I’m not sure Tara would be too pleased either but I don’t think it will be an issue… I think Bobby and Tara have it all under control……………..’ She nodded in the direction of Randy and Eleanor and Jack saw that Bobby had Randy pinned up against the wall.

Pulling her even closer, Jack held her face gently and began to kiss her, oblivious to everyone else around. Feeling her respond he deepened the kiss as she melted into his body. Hearing the band stop, he moved away and indicated to Sue who could see Bobby and Tara standing by the mike.

‘Ladies and gentlemen,' Bobby drawled in his sexiest Aussie accent, 'due to financial misconduct, there is a change to the last announcement. Miss Preston will not be dating Jack Hudson, his date is Sue Thomas………………’ As he stopped talking he winked at Tara, causing her to go weak at the knees (again).

‘So, what happened?’ Jack asked as the 4 sat at the table, unaware of the cherubs who were repenting of ever thinking the Scriptwriter could have got it wrong.

‘Randy admitted they’d taken a bribe, Allie wanted you, all they had to do was announce her name and they would have received a tidy sum. He crumbled when I threatened him with a wild Aussie uppercut. So they’ve left, as has Allie and I told Allie that if she ever shows her face again I’ll set the vicious beast on her…………’

‘You mean Levi?’ Jack asked looking down at the dog who was curled up asleep under the table, totally stuffed with all the titbits he’d been fed by those around the table when they thought Sue wasn’t looking.

‘No,………………….Tara the terrier………..’ Bobby joked, jumping up quickly to avoid being hit by her.

As the cherubs looked on, Jack and Sue spent all night in each others arms as did Bobby and Tara, Myles and Norah, Lucy and JP and D and Donna. Somewhere in DC Pete and Martha were having dinner together watched over by Ruby and Pearl. Watching from her cloud, Charlene was pleased to be able to write a positive report on all her cherubs. ‘Looks like the boss did know what he was doing when he sent them to me……………..’

Love that Aussie uppercut! Way to go! I love that Sue took matters into her own hands....dragging Jack onto the dance floor before Allie could get her claws into him. I think that got the message across loud and clear!!!

I hope it's not just one more post!!! I would really like to see Jack take the initiative to introduce Sue to his parents. They need to know that they are together and will be forever!! Great job!

I think this should be how it ends, romantic and lots of warm fuzzies but if there are enough requests I can take it to meeting the parents.


Driving Sue home in the early hours of Sunday morning Jack stopped at the park by the river. Opening Sue’s door and picking up a torch from the glove box he said ‘C’mon, Levi needs a walk.’

‘Jack, it’s cold and it’s dark and I'm not really dressed for dog walking……………’ she protested.

Taking off his jacket and placing it on her shoulders he persisted. ‘You need a walk don’t you buddy?’
Looking down at Levi as he barked Jack knew all he really wanted to do was go home and curl up on Sue’s bed to sleep.

Grinning he said ‘Told you, trust me Sue, please.’ Taking her hand he led her to a secluded area of the park lit only by the moon and countless billions of stars hung in the heavens.

Kneeling down on one knee and shining the torch on his face, he made sure Sue could read his lips.

Taking a deep breath he began to speak ‘Sue, I know we’ve only been dating for a week, but I’ve known since you walked into my office that morning that you are the woman I want to spend the rest of my life with. You’ve changed me, made me a better person, touched my life in so many ways I couldn’t even begin to tell you and if I did we’d be here all night and all day tomorrow. I love you Sue, will you marry me…………………..?’
Pulling out a small box he opened it to reveal a simple but beautiful engagement ring.

‘I love you too, Jack, yes I’ll marry you…………………….’

Placing the ring on her finger, Jack stood up and pulled her close as he began to kiss her slowly and gently, as she responded the kiss became deeper and more pasionate; a kiss that held the promise of a lifetime together.



Hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. Now I have the bug I’m posting a longer story in WIP entitled 'FBI goes to London.' The first post should be up by the end of the week, grateful for feedback.
