Spring is a time to clean out the closets and remove all the items that have not been used in ages. Out with the old and in with the new, they say. Sometimes that saying can be used with people....people who have declined to act on their feelings and leave the other person frustrated and at a loss for how to proceed. Case in point, Jack and his unwillingness to pursue a relationship with Sue.

Sue had been offered a position in New York and had considered taking it, hoping that this would have been the push Jack needed to make his move.

It had been three weeks since she declined the offer. His words when he caught her in the hallway; still fresh in her mind. And still........nothing more from Jack other than a few more longing glances and a couple dinner meetings.

Maybe this is why Sue considered the offer of a date with the new agent from SOG who took an instant liking to her. He had sent her several emails and a dozen yellow roses. Brian Walker was at least taking an interest in her.

“What are you smiling about?” Lucy said as she threw a wrapped paper at Sue. “Is there something going on that you ain’t telling me?”

“Nope, nothing. Why would there be?” Sue shrugged. “Besides, there is no way I could keep something hidden from you anyways.”

Jack looked up from his paperwork, watching the scene that happened in front of him eagerly.

“Then why are you smiling? I saw your face glowing when you read something on your computer screen.” Lucy walked towards her desktop, noticing that Sue was desperately trying to erase something.

“No reason.” Sue dreadfully tried to shut down the screen, but instead of closing, she minimized it.

Jealous Jack is rearing his ugly but soooo cute head once again it appears....

I'm so excited! It's been ages since you've written a story! And this, being a J/S one is sure to be wonderful!

Who is this Brian guy and why is Jack still hedging on a romance with Sue?

I'm glad you have called this a J/S story or I would probably be more worried than I am!! But, I know for sure that it's going to be a gloriously delicious ride getting to the J/S part and beyond!!! I can't wait!!!

As Lucy read the last line out loud, Tara asked “Who did you get this from?”

“Yeah, who?” Jack piped up.

All eyes drifted off to Jack. “Why are you interested all of a sudden? You had your time, three years to be exact, now it’s someone else’s turn.” Lucy commented as she looked at Jack. She shook her head in disbelief. “ARGH, I don’t get men, why are they always interested in something when it is already taken?”

Bobby walked over to Jack‘s desk, trying to help his friend “Maybe because it’s more fun. The harder it is to hunt for your prey, the more exciting it gets.”

Tara couldn‘t believe what she was hearing. “Is that how you guys think? You animals!”

“Yep sheila, that’s us. And I know some women love that ...” he winked, making Tara all flustered in the process.

“Is that what you’re doing Jack?” Sue gaped at him.

“No, not at all” Bobby slapped Jack in the back of his head. “Ouch, what was that for?”

“Gee, I don’t know. Maybe because you‘re an idiot.”

Myles took the trophy he received after he promoted Randy to a group of elderly people and slammed it on his desk. “Don’t we have anything better to do. I know I have tons of paperwork on my desk that needs to be finished before we go home.”

“WHAT?” they said in unison.

Myles shrugged. “I had to do something to get your attention.”

“Once a piker always a piker ain‘t ya Myles”

“Whatever! Your use of Australian slang, never ceases to befuddle the English language. I'm not a party pooper, I'm simply stating the obvious.“

Raising an eyebrow, the team glanced at each other before looking back to Myles.

“It's springtime, people.......love is in the air......” He took a sip from his coffee “and to quote my less than articulate partner, Yes, Jack you are an idiot!”

Gotta love Myles............he's boorish, but he sure hits the nail right on the head!!

Myles always knows how to bring everything together, doesn't he??

Yes, Jack, I would have to agree!! You only get upset when you think Sue is going to either leave or if she starts dating someone!! It's happened so many times, you'd think you would have caught on by now!!!

Hey, you started a new story! Great start!!! I loved Lucy's outburst towards Jack...we all know he deserved it. But maybe....just maybe this is a reason for him to take the next step.....

Okay, I'm going to come leaping to Jack's defense here. I agree he's a little slow in the heart, but come on! Think about it. He's loved and lost so many times before with all those other women, and he really, really, really, really, really, really cares about Sue. He probably hasn't made a move on her yet because he'd rather have Sue in his fantasies then make a move on her and screw the whole thing up. Maybe he'd rather just be friends and colleagues with her then to have his heart broken again.... I dunno. Just a thought.

Poor Jack. I'd be more than happy to console him....

“Don't make me check your inbox for the email address.” Tara pushed Lucy aside and her hand made a move towards the computer mouse. “Keep in mind that no computer is safe when I get my way with it.”

“NO!” Sue pushed the button on her computer tower till it shut down. “Can't a girl have some privacy around here.”

“We're investigators, what do you expect?” Bobby chuckled from his desk, "Do you forget where you work?" he gestured with outstretched arms, “The walls have eyes and ears! No secret is safe around here!”

Myles stood and crossed the room, “Take Jack! Every person working here knows his true feelings. We all wait with baited breath for him to make his move.”

Jack shifted uncomfortably in his chair. “Didn't you say something about having work to do?”

“C'mon, Sparky!" Bobby laughed, “It doesn't take a genius to figure it out. You sit there all day and stare at the poor girl. You keep waiting and she's eventually gonna look to greener pastures!”

Sue glanced at Jack and frowned. It was true what Bobby said. How long was she expected to wait? She grabbed her purse and headed towards the door, “I'll be at lunch if anyone cares!”

Levi took the bunny in his mouth and he happily trotted after his mistress. His tail wagging in a fast motion.

Here's your chance, Sparky! Go after her!

Jumping out of his chair, Jack hit his knee against the desk; wincing in pain as he limped after her. “Sue, wait!”

Seeing Levi heading down the stairs, Jack followed. Holding the railing tight as he made his way down. “She isn’t gonna make it easy for me, is she?” He grumbled.

As Jack finally reached the first floor he checked the hallway for any sign of Sue and Levi. Not seeing either one of them he walked towards the cafeteria. He didn’t even notice Diana Grove who frantically waved her hand at him to gain his attention.

“Jack, why don’t you come and sit here?” She spoke up as she motioned to the empty chair next to her.

“Huh? Oh hi!” Jack raised his hand and waved in a small gesture. He really wasn’t paying any attention to whom he said hi to. It could’ve been the queen of England and he wouldn’t have noticed.

Diana shifted in her chair to face her co-workers again. “Looks like we have a man on a mission. I wonder what he is up to.”

Do you still need to ask?” Marie raised her eyebrow at the curly blonde in front her. “I think he’s trying to find his partner. You know Sue. The pretty blonde with the hearing dog.”

“Maybe,” Diana shrugged. “It’s almost like he’s hunting for his prey. See how his eyes are riveting the area without even blinking. He looks like an eagle trying to find a mouse.”

Scanning the area, Marie pointed her index finger to a spot underneath an Oak tree. “There she is she’s sitting at a table outside, talking to a guy. And I think Jack just found what he was looking for!“

She took a bite of her sandwich. Her mouth still full, she spoke up. “What does she have that I don’t?” When she noticed that Diana tried to say something, Marie intercepted. “Don’t you dare answer that!” She sputtered and crumbles of bread flew out of her mouth.

Diana laughed at Marie. “How would you know what I was gonna say? Anyways, all we can do is dream. This man’s heart is already taken by Miss Thomas!“

Both women leaned back in their chairs; sighing and wishing that some day they’d find their prince charming.

That's right, ladies! Jack has found what he's been looking for.....now if he would just realize it!!

I wonder who Sue is talking to
