How did it happen?

She went to New York 8 months ago. she didn't change her mind, instead she left behind 6 heartbroken FBI friends, one of whom was totally devastated, and a number of other saddened friends she had made in the 4 years she'd been in DC.

She gave up the man she thought would be her soul mate, her confidante, her shoulder to lean on, her one true love, her husband, her lover, the father of her children............

WHY??

Because he never told her he loved her........... he dithered and turtled and bumbled and wimped out once too often so she left him behind looking for a new start................

please tell me that this isn't going to turn out the way it sounds like it's going to turn out

Chapter 2

As I watch her walk down the aisle I could cry, she looks so radiant, a beauty I have never seen before.

Wearing a simple yet elegant white dress, slightly off the shoulder, hugging her figure yet not too revealing and carrying a bouquet of freesias and pale yellow roses, her hair down just as I like it.

She has dispensed with her veil, to make lip reading easier and is wearing a simple gold cross which her soon-to-be husband gave her last night; a symbol of shared faith and abiding love for each other and from God.

His arm linked through hers, her dad is bursting with pride and love.

Following behind them are Tara, Lucy and Amanda while Deanne is at the front ready to sign the service to those who are deaf.

In the front row are her mom, 3 brothers and 3 sisters-in-law with assorted nephews and nieces.
I can see tears in their eyes – however much they had hoped and dreamed that she would find a man who would love her and cherish her they were never sure it would happen.
They’ve seen her through so much – school, learning to sign and lip read, college, starting work, moving out of home, joys and sorrow……………

Today their hopes and dreams have been realised.

Also in the front row are his parents……… as an only child they have been waiting for this moment, to see him settled with a lovely lady to give them grandchildren. His dad is hugging his mom who has tears in her eyes.

Cath, it's great you started new story! But I am a bit nervous because now we know the bride is Sue but we're not sure who the groom is ... should I start to be worried ?!??!

Please, let the groom be Jack! I'm making a chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting with Reese's peanut butter cups on it for my Mom for Mother's Day this weekend. Maybe I could make an extra one for you (assuming you like chocolate and peanut butter and IF it's Jack and Sue getting married)! Although, it would probably cost quite a lot of money to send it from the U.S. to England. Oh well, I tried...

Jack has been a total mess all morning, a nervous wreck………. You’d think he was facing a firing squad not getting married to the woman of his dreams…………

When I left her earlier this morning Sue was calm and tranquil, when Bobby and I arrived at Jack and Sue’s new house Jack was anything but.

I didn’t get all of it but he told Bobby he’d dropped his coffee mug all over the floor, couldn’t find his waistcoat and had lost the rings……………

I was relieved they’d decided to marry at 10 AM…….. at this rate he would never have survived all day waiting.

Bobby normally impulsive and eager to get on with things was today as calm and collected as Sue and took charge. He sent Jack to the shower while he cleared up the mess in the kitchen and found the waistcoat and rings where Jack had left them the night before.

Finally Jack was dressed, with more than a little help from Bobby who was beginning to chuckle at Jack’s anxiety as he helped button up his sleeves as Jack became all fingers and thumbs.

‘Relax mate……… it’s the bride who is supposed to be late………. you keep this up and they’ll be on the next service before you get to the church.’

Me………..? I just curled up and went to sleep till they were ready for me.
