I think, Luce is fully ready for the wedding now...
Restie
Restie, not unless you want her walking down the aisle in a robe and with streaks of mascara down her face...
What would everyone think, especially the groom?

tracy, which story would you be talking about?
Jenny, I was referring to your challenge story. It's the only one of your stories I'm reading now. Sorry, but I'm already reading too many stories at once! I'll try to read your other stories somewhere down the road...

BTW, I'm not sure how often I will be able to post, since in less than a week I'm going to be going on vacation to visit my niece and two nephews (I get to celebrate my youngest nephew's 1st birthday with them!
:bdayboy: Where, oh where, does the time go? It seems like he was just born yesterday!) Anyway, I've got a lot to do before I go on vacation, and then I'll be on vacation for almost a week.
Whew! With all that said, on with more of the story...
I hope y'all enjoy!

As I said, as joyful as this day is for Lucy, it is filled with some sadness, due to her father not being here. In his absence, D, being the wonderfully kind and considerate man that he is, offered to escort Lucy down the aisle today. "I know it's not the same as having your father there, but I'd be honored and more than happy to escort you down the aisle for your wedding, Lucy." he had said, the day she broke down at the office, when she fully realized she had no one to give her away. Lucy had gratefully accepted, touched by his gracious offer.

Still clad in her robe, streaks of mascara down her face, Lucy glances at herself in the mirror and shrieks. She is now in full panic mode, as she realizes she has only a little over an hour to finish readying herself for the wedding. "Look at me!" she cries. "I'm a mess! I'll never finish getting ready in time!"
"Lucy, calm down! We'll all help you get ready in time! First, here's some streak-free mascara. You're gonna need it! I used it on my wedding day, and it really works! And as you know, I really put it to the test that day!" I say, shifting quickly into take-charge matron of honor mode. "Lucy, you go wash your face, and we'll get your wedding dress out of the garment bag, so we can help you slip it on. Your hair is already done and it looks beautiful. So, all you really have to do is re-apply your make-up and put your wedding dress on! See? Everything's going to be okay! As a wise woman told me on
my wedding day, just remember to stay calm and breathe!" I say with a grin.
After grinning in return and saying "That was really good advice, wasn't it?", Lucy disappears into the bathroom to wash her face and rid it of streaks of mascara.
