hallelujah my long hours are over and i've finally caught up on my reading

Leaving the restaurant, Jack took her hand as they headed for the car. Seeing the confused look on her face he mumbled ‘I think we should practice the undercover………… so it’s easy when we’re in Vegas…………’

‘Practice is always good, Jack.’ she agreed, smiling to herself……. This felt wonderful …………..

As they walked Jack gently rubbed his thumb over her hand as she squeezed gently, both relishing the closeness.

Walking Levi together, Jack placed his arm around Sue’s shoulder, feeling her snuggle in closer and place her arm around his waist.

Giving her a gentle kiss on the cheek at her door he mumbled, ‘I definitely think we need to practice this undercover dating a bit more……….’

Feeling the air moving across her cheek she moved her head to read his lips, ‘sorry I didn’t catch that Jack……….’

‘I said ‘I definitely think we need to practice this undercover dating a bit more……….’’ He mumbled again.

‘Yeah, we definitely need the practice……… come round tomorrow night….. I’ll cook dinner …… Luce will be out at a signing class…..’

As he leant forward to kiss her goodnight she moved her head so his lips were planted firmly on hers.

As they met, Jack wasn’t sure who was the most surprised at her boldness. Allowing his lips to linger for a few more seconds he murmured, ‘yup we definitely need to practice this whole undercover scenario……….’

‘See you tomorrow, beautiful heart friend’ he signed as he reluctantly walked away.

This undercover dating is beginning to sound suspiciously like real dating to me.

Yeah, Jack and Sue aren't the only one who thinks they have to practise more and more!!!!!!

Chapter 5

As Sue entered the apartment wearing a dreamy look on her face she saw Luce sitting on the couch.

‘You obviously had a good time tonight girlfriend……… but what’s he done to upset you…...........?’

Sue looked at her, completely confused, ‘upset me? Jack hasn’t done anything to upset me………why would you think that he had………?’

‘Look at the size of that bunch of flowers…….. men only ever buy flowers when they’ve done something wrong…………’

‘He hasn’t done anything wrong………. It was a generous gift, as was dinner……..we’re going undercover in a few weeks……….’

‘Undercover…………….?’ Luce asked, more than a little confused; she didn’t know anything about an undercover and she would bet that no-one else did either.

‘Yeah…….. undercover.’ Sue stood to her feet heading for her room, ‘night Luce…….’

Watching Sue’s retreating back; Lucy opened her laptop and emailed Tara.

Chapter 8

As Jack and Sue headed out with Levi, Luce called the others into the Conference Room.

‘OK ……… why are they going undercover……………………?

What is the case and why don’t any of us know about it?’

Myles and D looked at her blankly, not having a clue what she was talking about.

Luce filled them in quickly and everyone looked at her still blank.


‘No cases I know of coming up……..’ D mumbled, ‘you think they’ve finally got together and this is the code they’re using since inter team dating is still forbidden?’

Luce shrugged her shoulders, ‘don’t think so………. Tara can you hack their computers? Read the emails?’

‘I could but I’m not going to……… if they are dating and we know we won’t have deniability if anyone asks………’ Tara explained.

Luce nodded, it made sense but she desperately wanted to know what was going on.

‘But if they were dating ……….. and I’m not saying they are……. If anyone asked we could tell them we wanted them to stay together in the unit because it’s never affected the way they work………….. couldn’t we?’

She looked around at each member of the team, relieved when they all nodded.

‘Right, I’ll talk to Sue……… Bobby you can talk to Jack……… the rest of you just keep quiet about what we know………’

Myles cut her off, ‘exactly what do we know Luce? Jack and Sue have emailed each other a few times………. It happens, we all email each other, and Sues’ told you they are going undercover, it could be a case for another section…………’

There were times when her romantic streak and matchmaking could drive him to distraction.

‘I’ll talk to Jack‘, Bobby cut in before they started to shout at each other as he could see anger welling up in Luce………..

‘Great, we met back here at this time tomorrow’ she grinned at them all as she dismissed them for lunch.

I loved Myles' line in there: What exactly do we know?

Chapter 9

Opening the doors for Levi and Sue, Jacks’ heart was thumping; never had walking Levi affected him like this.

Leaving the garage they picked up coffee and sandwiches before he headed for a wooded area just outside of DC to give them some privacy.

Watching Levi running around chasing squirrels and rabbits they held hands, leaning in for the occasional kiss on the cheek or lips.

Returning to the car, Jack placed his arm around her waist, ‘I think this looks more realistic ………. For a couple who are dating………..’

Sue snuggled closer and placed her arm around him, ’this more realistic?’ she whispered, hoping he wouldn’t pick up on the excitement and desire in her voice.

‘PERFECT’ he signed, breathing in the scent of her perfume.

Pulling up in the garage, Jack asked, ‘you reckon we’ve got this dating thing sorted or do we need more practice?’

‘Well, Jack………… you’re pretty good but I think I need more practice,’

Sue was more than a little surprised at her words but if this was the closest she was going to get to dating Jack she was going to make the most of it.

‘To be honest, I thought you were pretty good but I thought I needed more practice…………… perhaps we should keep practicing…….. we’ve only got a couple of weeks and we need to be really good…………’

‘Looks good to me……… we’ll practice again tonight…….. over dinner…..’

Sue breathed a sigh of relief, sure that Jack was going to say he thought they were OK, oblivious to Jacks’ sigh of relief, maybe after this he would ask her out and worry about the no dating policy later.

Who wouldn't make the most of such a great opportunity?!


Maybe Sue doesn't have to worry so much about making the most of the "practice"!!
