Yikes my computer ate my post! ohmy.gif I just wanted to say that I think you did and outstanding job on this story and it was truly an enjoyable read the whole way through. I love the idea of throwing a surprise party for Jack. And the model car was a great touch...not to mention the sombrero! And to end with J/S fuzzies... wub.gif

Exactly 5,000 words? I am impressed!

I absolutely loved the ending. It was perfect. I thought perhaps it was a birthday but a 15 year anniversary is even better and what a better way to head towards another "anniversary" between Jack and Sue. wub.gif outstanding.gif
rerio
What a great ending!! And how difficult must that have been, to write exactly 5000 words? I agree with Tis*Me - I think there should be an award for that!

This was fantastic, justme. I loved how the story came together.
Congratulations on a superb short story.

Well, you certainly met every single challenge that was set out at the start of this story!!!! This was wonderfully creative as well as light-hearted and it was so much fun to be a part of! I'm so glad you wrote it! clapping.gif

I know life is crazy busy, but you can still find some time to write, right?? If I can do it, you can....tongue.gif angel.gif

Myles might be good Janet but you are certainly better! That was great!

Loved this story!
So Myles had him bring the sombrero for the party and a "makeshift screen"? laugh.gif

Janet, this was just plain wonderful - I loved every one of the 5000 words (how in Heaven's name did you manage that??)!!

The sombrero did come to some good use in the end - what a great idea for an anniversary party and for getting Jack and Sue together!!!

Thanks for sharing!!!

That sombrero had to serve some purpose !!!

Janet, I enjoy everyone of the 5000 words ... except the last "FIN"

Honestly my heart plummeted into my stomach when I saw the FIN on the banner. I've been looking forward to reading this every day. huh.gif Now what will I do? I know, you could write another short story since you're so expert at it. laugh.gif I'll give you a week, how's that, and remember, sleep is highly over rated. biggrin.gif

Seriously, this was fantastic. And the ending was such a surprise. It was Myles!!!!! And he would think it funny to have Jack make his grand entrance looking ridiculous! tongue.gif Of course the fuzzies at the end were wub.gif and I love how you tied in the big sombreo and Myles bragging to Lucy. Wow, I'm so amazed at how artfully you drew that all together and in 5000 words exactly. adulation smilie.gif adulation smilie.gif adulation smilie.gif

Now, do you think we can let Ralph S. Mouse have the second car? Jack doesn't need two!

Looking forward to your next one. I am sending positive thoughts your way writing.gif don't you feel this compulsion to start writing again?

Janet,

What a terrific read; I thoroughly enjoyed every post! Cute plot, great mystery, nice J/S touch. Sounds much like something we would actually see in the series . . . just the kind of prank the team plays on each other. Thanks for an entertaining story tonight.

Okay, now I feel really stupid for not seeing that last post. I was kinda starting to wonder what ever became of Jack's car. rolleyes.gif I guess that must've happened when I had my computer problems a few weeks ago, huh?

This was great JP3! I loved the whole thing. The concept was fantastic. The fuzzies were terrific. And the fact that you used exactly 5000 words was simply amazing. Great job! clapping.gif

Never say that a sombrero is not a VITAL accessory to your wardrobe!!! Great job on the story! tongue.gif

This is a great pic of Jack. Not only is the car easily seen, but he has such a pleased look on his face. I wonder who he is looking at? wink.gif

I have noticed the car before as well. It will be great to have you enlighten us as to the story behind the car model, jp3. Sue was so serious about not using it for a prank that I'm thinking it must be a good one.

useless info
i think the scene is from concrete evidence when myles is talking about webber trying to take part of his garden and his prize roses and myles and bobby are teasing about webber being a 'horticulturalist wannabe' jack looks over and grins at them it was on in england yesterday and it twigged

i am so sad aren't i??????????????????

Such a delight jp3! Love the prank driving J/S closer to figure out whodunit! So humorous and the ending was great with the party for Jack and that huge hat came in handy after all. rofl.gif So romantic melting.gif

Well, sorry I'm so late in finding this story. (Although it's better for me--no waiting around for the next post! biggrin.gif ). Anyway, I wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed this story. It was wonderful!! The characters were just so true to form that I could see and hear them throughout this story. Loved the prank, loved the J/S moments, and loved finding out Myles was the mastermind. What a great concept!

Thanks for an entertaining morning read.
