I’m sorry I couldn’t reply to your earlier messages (beginning with the He Said, She Said ones) even though I badly wanted to … unfortunately, they coincided with movements by the fugitive at the bank and I couldn’t risk being detected. When I could get a message out, the priority had to go to liaising with Tara and Cyber Crimes. I hope you understand.

The fugitive’s made another transaction so, if he sticks to his MO, he’ll lie low for a day or two, which means it’s currently reasonably safe for me to send messages. Ironic, isn’t it, that I’m feeling vaguely grateful to the criminal I’m hunting for allowing me some personal time?

Jack being the ever gentlemen again, but YHM, we want him to actually do something, this e-mailing back and forth even undercover can only go so far, they need to do a face to face still.....even if he is stuck in a bank surely he has a lunch hour? Or when the day ends? Or his phone? So many avenues if he tries!

Jack was about to say that he loved her, wasn't he?? Why? Why? Why didn't he complete his email? And whadya mean he's going to back off? If he does that, we might have to wait for another 3 more years!!

I think it was an eppy where the CSI team had a crew filming them for a reality show. There was concern that they would end up "teaching" criminals what to do and Grissom said something like everyone had equal access to science but it was all down to what you do with it. I'm paraphrasing.

Another 3 years ... ... think how many sni-s I could write in that time ...

I’m fine. Tara’s email intercepted mine. One of these days I’m going to do the same thing to her … right after I figure out how.

I don’t loathe you, Sue; how could I? I was going to say it’s frustrating to love someone and then realise they might not love you back … frustrating and heart breaking.

When you said I was a nice colleague and then you backed away? That was a complete jolt to my system. But it made me think; forced me sort things out and ask myself what it was that I wanted from you … us … and how much I was prepared to give and take. Believe me, I had plenty of time to think while monitoring that fugitive.

It’s been maddening to play hide-and-seek with how I feel, and having to be careful, all these years. You don’t know how often I’ve dared myself to tell you how I feel: wanting to be more than a colleague yet afraid to lose even that if things went wrong and it frightened you away. They inspired me, gave me hope and so I finally did open up … look where it got me.

So here it is: I’ve decided that if you’re more comfortable with a professional relationship with me and just want us as colleagues, I’ll respect and accept that.

You have my word that I won’t intrude into your personal domain anymore. Having a civil, professional relationship with you is better than having no relationship at all.
