So what happens next Tracy??!?!? Pray tell!!!
Jen

So, Jenny, is that your "subtle" way of asking me to post more story?
Okay, since everyone seems to think I should continue the story, I guess I'll continue! Funny, my beta said the same thing when I asked her if I should end the story there!
I guess it's a good thing I continued writing, huh?
Thanks again for all the great comments, y'all! They are greatly appreciated! Hope y'all enjoy this next chapter!
Thanks for reading,
Tracy

Chapter 11:
Having finished eating dinner at Jack's place, both Sue and Jack sat down on his couch to talk. Talk initially gravitated to the case that they had just successfully closed. They both sat sideways, towards one another, so Sue could easily read Jack's lips.
"So, I assume they will be prosecuted?", referring to the kidnappers, "How much time do you think they will get?" asked Sue, with concern.
"I don't know. They did kidnap a federal employee! Who knows? It depends on a lot of different things, but possibly a very long time. Though they may decide to go easy on them since, in the end, they gave themselves up willingly, and they had no prior convictions." answered Jack.
"It's kind of sad. They're so young, so much of their lives ahead of them. Then greed set in and ruined everything. I've seen greed destroy too many people, Jack." said Sue somberly.
"Maybe they'll go for an insanity plea." said Jack, trying to lighten the mood.
"Yeah, well, if they weren't insane before, they probably are now!" said Sue with a giggle.
"Seems like they may have already been punished enough, just spending that time with Randy, huh?" said Jack with a smile.
"Yeah..." Sue responded as she stared intently into Jack's wonderful, beautiful brown eyes. She had found herself lost in those eyes on many occasions, more times than she could count. It reminded her of a song she had become familiar with a long time ago, when she was a teenager -- "Lost In Your Eyes" by Debbie Gibson. She had loved the lyrics to the song and had hoped that one day she would experience those kinds of feelings. She never really had, until she met Jack...
"I get lost in your eyes
And I feel my spirits rise
And soar like the wind...
Is it love that I am in?
I get weak, in a glance
Isn't this, what's called romance?
...and now I know
Cause when I'm lost I can't let go
I don't mind not knowing what I'm headed for
You can take me to the skies...
It's like being lost in heaven
When I'm lost in your eyes
I just fell, don't know why
Something's there, we can't deny...
And when I first knew
Was when I first looked at you
And if I can't find my way
If salvation seems worlds away
Oh, I'll be found
When I am lost in your eyes
I don't mind not knowing what I'm headed for
You can take me to the skies...
It's like being lost in heaven
When I'm lost in your eyes
I get weak in a glance
Isn't this what's called romance?
Oh, I'll be found
When I am lost in your eyes"Of course, the line that seemed to stick in her mind the most right now was
"Something's there, we can't deny...". She really did feel there was something there, and she was becoming more convinced that Jack felt there was too and probably had for a while, just like her. But they HAD managed to deny it, for about three years!
When Jack had had his heart attack, she had been ready to "throw caution to the wind" and declare her true feelings for him, even if it meant a transfer. But, then Allie had shown up! Sue's heart had been broken and her self-confidence temporarily shattered. Then she met David, who at the time had been good for her. He had helped to restore her self-confidence. He had been a sweet guy, and she did care for him, as a friend, but he would never measure up to Jack. But then again, who would? Who could possibly ever measure up to her "Prince Charming"? He was the main reason she had decided not to go to work in New York. Sure, she stayed because of ALL of her friends, but most especially because of Jack! She was hoping by now that he would have made a move, declared his true feelings.
"Maybe he hasn't told me he loves me because he doesn't actually love me!" she thought, the self-doubt starting to creep in again.
"Maybe I've misread the signals! Maybe..."Sue was startled out of her daze by a hand on her arm.
