Besides Sue, Lucy was the last person to enter the bullpen the next morning.
“Hey Luce.” Bobby greeted. “Tara was just telling us a little about your girls night last night. What exactly is a McDreamy?”
Lucy burst out laughing and turned to Tara. “Nice.” She nodded. “What did you say?”
Tara smiled and shrugged. “I just told him that we ate, and talked, and when he asked what we talked about I told him ‘girl stuff’, and that you guys gave me advise about my McDreamy.”
Lucy nodded and continued to laugh.
“That doesn’t answer my question.” Bobby complained.
Jack shook his head. “I’d let it go Crash. I don’t think you’ll ever get an answer.” He then turned to Lucy. “Where’s Sue?”
Lucy feigned offense. “Hey. I’m great thanks for asking.”
“Sorry.” Jack smiled. “Hey Luce. How are you?”
“She’s getting her stitches out.” Lucy laughed.
“Still? I thought she’d be done by now.” He said. Her appointment was early.
Lucy shrugged. “She probably stopped to get coffee or something.”
She was right. Ten minutes later Sue arrived, carrying three grande cups from Starbuck's, giving one to Lucy and one to Tara.
“Where’s mine?” Jack teased with a smile when she turned to him.
She smiled back apologetically. “Hey, we were up very late coming to some very important conclusions about Tara’s McDreamy. We earned these.” She explained and Tara and Lucy both laughed.
Especially after Bobby yelled, “What’s a McDreamy.”
Sue just smiled at him and turned to her desk.
Jack turned to Bobby and shook his head with a smile before he turned back to Sue, who was approaching his desk.
“So what do you think?” She asked, modeling her newly revealed scar.
Jack stood and the rest of the team gathered.
“Looks hot.” Jack approved, resisting the urge to lightly run his fingers over the pink flesh.
“I told you it would be sexy.” Bobby said with a nod and Sue smiled, her eyes meeting Jack’s as the rest of the team laughed and dispersed, going back to whatever they were doing before.
Jack smiled playfully and shrugged. “I’ve seen sexier.” He whispered while discretely sliding his finger over her ribs.
Sue could feel her cheeks burn as she remembered the way he’d discovered the small pink scar just below her left breast on his very thorough exploration of her body.
“Careful.” She cautioned with a smile. “Room full of people.” She pointed out and turned to her desk.
Jack smiled. Oh yeah. He thought. Damn it.
By mid afternoon Jack couldn’t take the torture anymore and, using some lame excuse about needing something (no one quite understood what it was), he practically dragged Sue to the elevator, where D caught them making out.
He smirked at their surprised faces when they jumped apart and he leaned into the elevator.
“If you want to change floors you have to push one of these buttons.” He teased, pushing the button for the parking garage and letting the doors, once again, slide closed before he went back to the bullpen to collect his forty dollar winnings. Six days on the dot.
“Hey. I was wondering if you were still up.” Jack said when Sue answered her blackberry later that night.
“Well, you know, I had to get up to answer my blackberry.” She teased, both remembering when he’d said almost the same thing long ago.
Jack laughed. “I’m sorry.”
“Actually, I was talking to Lucy. She just went to bed.” She told him. “What are you still doing up?”
He smiled into the phone. “My bed is just so uninviting. It’s big, and cold, and... empty.”
He heard Sue laugh. “Yeah, mine too.” She said with a sigh.
“I could be there in ten minutes.” He offered.
“Jack... What about Lucy?” She asked.
“You didn’t tell her?” He was sure she had from all the weird looks Lucy, and Tara for that matter, had been giving him all day.
He heard Sue laugh again. “I didn’t have to. She found your shirt sticking out from under the couch.”
“Oops.” Jack laughed. “Sorry about that.”
“Don’t be. I slept in it last night.” She said temptingly and Jack groaned.
“Sue.” He protested. “I did not need to know that.”
He was suppose to be getting ready for bed, not creating new fantasies. The only reason he’d called was because he wanted to hear her voice, hoping that it would tied him over until he could see her tomorrow. No chance of that now.
He fell back onto his couch.
Sue laughed but didn’t apologize. “You may not get it back.”
“Keep it.” Jack said. “I’m sure it looks better on you.”
“As long as it’s off you...” She teased.
“Sue!” He groaned again.
“What?” She asked innocently.
There was a knock at his door and Jack turned his head to look at it with confusion. Who in the world would be at his apartment now?
“Hold on. Someone’s at my door.” He said and he stood, slowly walking to it.
He opened the door to find Sue leaning against the frame, a smug smile on her face, her blackberry already put away.
He smiled and clicked off his phone, throwing it over his shoulder.
“I hope that wasn’t an important call.” She played. “I didn’t mean to interrupt.”
Jack smiled. “I’ll make it up to her.” He said with a shrug and a wink a second before he wrapped an arm around her waist and grasped the back of her head with the other hand, dragging her into his apartment and crushing his lips to hers possessively.
The slam of the door echoed down the hall.
The End

*McDreamy is a phrase I stole from Grey's Anatomy (I don't know if any of you watch it). It essentially means if you could dream up your perfect guy and order him - say at McDonalds (hence the "Mc"), he would be a McDreamy. For example - Sue's McDreamy would be Jack. My McDreamy would be... Jack. I'll leave Tara's McDreamy up to you guys, although I have my own idea... coughBobbycough.

Well guys - that's it! Thank you so much for joining me on the ride - you've all made it a blast!
You guys are incredible!
Until next time...
Loves and hugs,
Em
