Chapter 16


Ok total rethink on last post

Stretching Sue woke up finding herself on the couch, Jack next to her cradling her in his arms.

Confused she looked around, she was at her apartment and Levi was curled up asleep on the chair.

Sue checked her watch, it was 7.30……. glancing at the coffee table she saw the pictures of Jack and Levi………. so that bit was obviously reality but where did reality stop and dreams begin………..?

Moving slowly so she didn’t wake Jack she stood carefully and walked around the apartment, she definitely remembered walking Levi…… he was unsettled, didn’t stray too far from her…….. Jack had commented about him losing confidence, suggested he stay a couple more days to make sure they were OK, told her he’d use the hide-a-bed………….

She remembered feeding Levi while Jack made the coffee….. then they were sitting on the couch………. and she suggested Jack tried harder to persuade her to date him………. and then………….

She looked over at Jack’s sleeping form………. then what………? His shirt was still in his pants…….. no buttons were undone……. she must have fallen asleep………. or they must have fallen asleep………. she remembered a couple of mind blowing kisses…….. then nothing.

She turned to look out off the window, unable to believe she had fallen asleep………. but that was better than doing what she’d dreamt she’d done…or was about to do…… although the proposal was a nice thought……..

Aroused from her thoughts by his hand on her arm Sue turned and looked into his eyes.

‘I’m sorry, Jack……….. I fell asleep didn’t I?’

He shook his head and grinned at her, ‘I’m the one who should apologise……. I think I fell asleep on you………… you suggested I persuade you to date me……. I kissed you a couple of times………. then I don’t remember anything else………. I’m sorry Sue………. guess I didn’t do a very good job of persuading you……….’

‘Maybe you need to try again, Hudson……….’

He raised his eyebrows…….’maybe I do……. but not now…… we have a dinner to get to in ½ hour……. less than that……….’

He watched her walk to her bedroom, knowing he would never tell her that she’d fallen asleep in his arms………… they’d been moving a little to get more comfortable on the couch and she’d dozed off murmuring that she loved him…… he’d tucked his shirt back in his pants then held her in his arms and eventually drifted to sleep, the worry and pressure of the last few days overcoming both of them.

Cath, in this particular case, I'm glad that was a dream (or partially a dream, from Jack's thoughts)!! I like the way you made the transition!!

Now, Jack, after dinner you need to get back to persuading!!!

What a dream. But I too kinda like the idea of it being mostly dream instead of reality. And what a lovely picture - falling asleep in the arms of Jack Hudson!

Think of the blissful dreams you would have falling asleep in the arms of Jack Hudson!

Chapter 17

Heading out to his car, Levi following close behind Sue turned, ‘Jack………. when we were on the couch……… did we talk about…….. going any further…….’ She looked at his blank expression, ‘did we talk about making love……….tonight…….’

Jack shook his head, ‘no………… I wouldn’t…………. I respect your beliefs………. I can assure you we didn’t discuss it……. why…..?’

‘I had a dream….. and when I woke up it was kinda hard to distinguish the dream from reality……. at first I wasn’t sure if Levi had even been missing……….’

Jack nodded his understanding, ‘so what else did you dream?’

As she explained the dream he was astounded, ‘I could make a part of that dream come true……….. if you wanted……………..’

‘Not that part, Jack……… I do want to wait………..’

‘I know…………. Sue……… I don’t have a ring, but I love you……. and I have done for a very long time……….. will you marry me……..?’

‘Really…………..? You’re serious………?’ Sue was stunned.

‘That wasn’t quite the reaction I was expecting, or hoping for but yes I am …….. very serious ……… I love you Sue…… and I wish I’d found the courage and the words to tell you years ago……… will you marry me?’

‘YES!!!!!!!!!!!!’ Sue squealed as she threw her arms around him and Levi settled down for a snooze as they engaged in a string of very long and passionate kisses.

‘Guess I’ve persuaded you then Sue……….’ He whispered as they eventually came up for air.

‘Definitely persuaded Jack…………’ she murmured moving closer for another kiss.

Since I have no life I'm posting a story for Independence Day which should be started Monday
