A little impatient, aren't you, yhm? I could have posted to the story quicker if I wasn't busy trying to answer your questions!

Shortly after, Jack arrived home from work. Sue greeted him with a hug and a kiss.
"Did you have good day at work?" she asked.
"It was okay!" he answered. "Anything interesting happen here today?" he asked.
"We have a new pet in the house..." she said a little apprehensively.
"Another one?" Jack asked. "We already have too many pets around here! What is this one?"
"Another guinea pig. He's naming it Crash. Won't Bobby be so proud?" said Sue with a wink.
"I'm sure he will be! Why didn't you just tell him no?" asked Jack.
"You try telling him no!" Sue said, "Because unless it has to do with something that might harm him or someone else, something that's dangerous, I just can't bring myself to say no to him!"
"Why is that?" Jack asked with a grin.
"You know perfectly well why!" Sue said rolling her eyes at him.
"Why don't you humor me and tell me?" Jack asked.
"It's because of those eyes...he has your eyes...beautiful deep-chocolate brown eyes..." she said exasperated. They'd had this discussion numerous times, and Jack delighted in teasing her often about the issue.
It was definitely true; Matthew had his daddy's eyes. It was both a blessing and a curse. It was a blessing because, well, they were indeed beautiful eyes and a curse because, well, it made it almost impossible for anybody to say no to him.
The only one who didn't seem to succumb to the charms of those eyes was the man from whom he had inherited them. Jack didn't have a problem saying no to his son like most people did, but Matthew had caught on to that fact at the tender age of three, and from then on made sure he always asked his mommy for whatever it was that he wanted.
At the age of five years old, the power of those eyes was not lost on Matthew. He could also wink and smile just like his daddy, which had managed to fetch him quite a few extra desserts from a few young ladies at the kindergarten lunchroom table.
Though Matthew was essentially the spitting image of his father, in miniature form, he had his mother's loving spirit, her compassion, and her love for people and animals. That love for animals, combined with those irresistible brown eyes and a dimple in the chin, a lethal combination, had turned Jack, Sue, and Matthew Hudson's house into an Animal House.
The animals had come to outnumber the human beings in the house well over a year ago. If they were't careful it might soon resemble Noah's Ark! At present count there were, including Sue's hearing dog, Levi, 2 dogs, 2 cats, 2 birds, 1 rabbit, 2 hamsters, 2 guinea pigs, 2 frogs, 1 turtle, 2 lizards, and a whole school of fish! Sue had actually put her foot down when it came to the snakes, mice, rats, and pet tarantulas! She was absolutely terrified of them, so it was the case of her thinking it was something harmful!
