Jill you bless me with your faith in my decorating abilities (and it would take faith and a whole lot more for me to decorate anything). I certainly hope the wedding cake looked better than the cake I made for VBS - although my hubby reminds me that it isn't how it looks but how it tastes!

Are we going on the honeymoon? I may need a blindfold - not sure I want to see that much of Cupid!

“OOOOOOO.” Marene sighed, as the sky light up brightly with pinks, reds, and purples. I like that one....look how it sparkles as it falls.”

Grace nodded, waiting for the next “thwump” to signal the launching of another set of fireworks. “The gold ones are my favorite.”

“Do you think any of these are from Jack and Sue?”

Grace choked on Marene’s words. Trecey jumped in, taking great satisfaction in walloping her on the back. “You all right there, Gracey?”

“I’ll be fine if you stop whaling on me and Marene stops with the questions,” she gasped, brushing the tall cherub’s hands away and then bursting out in laughter at Marene’s look of surprised innocence. “What? Marene....human’s fireworks...humans don’t make fireworks...I mean, they do, but not the kind you can see...I mean there are fireworks and then there are fireworks ...” With a groan, she shook her head and flopped back on the cloud. “Just watch the show and don’t worry about where they come from.”

“Well, if humans don’t share their fireworks, maybe Gabby and Cupid will. After all, she got her happiness she was after.”

“That she did,” Pammie agreed, passing around a plate of red, white, and blue frosted flag sugar cookies.

Trecey waved the plate on. “No thanks. No likey blue teeth.”

“Don’t count on fireworks from them, either, Marene,” Grace consoled. “Gabby and Cupid...I'm sure they're very ummmm busy right about now...”

A burst of red lit up the sky, outlining a perfectly shaped heart with an arrow striking through it. Smiling smugly to herself, Marene took a bite of her sugar cookie. “You were saying?”

Grace simply shook her head and changed the subject. “What’d you have to promise Charlene in order to get that gold arrow, anyway?”

Marene giggled softly. “It doesn’t matter. The one and only Bride of Cupid is our best friend. Charlene isn’t going to hold us to anything. And,” she proudly declared, helping herself to another cookie, “next Valentine’s Day, we get to do whateverwe want. No more taking left over assignments or stuff Charleen deems impossible. We call the shots!”

“Whoohoo!” Grace cried, lifting her glass of grape juice in the air. “This calls for a toast.”

“To Life,” Pammie cried, raising her glass.

“Liberty,” chimed Trecey, clinking hers to the other two.

“And Gabby’s Pursuit of Happiness!” added Marene, touching hers to all three.

The sky lit up with hundreds of fireworks, a kaleidoscope of colors bursting all around them. It was an Independence Day they would never forget.

I was kind of hoping you wouldn't make the deadline either but I suppose now you can work on the other story.

I have made flag sugar cookies although not recently - they are lots of fun and well I was going to say something about Treecy and teeth and cleaning but I won't!

Maybe the cherubs will be needed for Halloween - Randy Pitts now that would be a huge challenge - if I recalll he did have a thing for Lucy at one point. Maybe he could fall for Anne - that would make Myles crazy. Okay Jill you have roughly two months to figure out the rest of the details!

Oh Pam -- there's the perfect plot!! And what a challenge for the cherub's perfect track record!!!!!

Well, looks like the Half-naked Bod Squad has come thru again. Our feathered Friends have paved the way to save the day and that's okay, I say, I say. We will want more, one day, one day. I do not like green eggs and ham. I do like cherubs, Jill-I-Am.
