Chapter 15

Saturday morning saw Myles reclining on a lawn chair, a mug of coffee in his hand and a plate of delicious pastries on the table beside him as he directed Webber on clean-up duty.

Chuckling as he watched Webber picking up soggy bits of toilet paper with his hands Myles offered a silent prayer that it had rained as that was making the task more onerous.

Oblivious to Webber puffing and panting as he bent to pick up the pieces Myles kept the camera focussed on him throughout, taking regular walks around his garden gleefully pointing out all the minute pieces he had missed.

Mid morning Myles pulled out more lawn chairs and headed in to the house to make coffee before welcoming the team to join him in the garden to ‘watch the sideshow’.

Placing sandwiches and pastries on the table Sue ignored the chair beside Jack, sitting instead on his lap as he wrapped his arms around her waist, both oblivious to the stares of the team.

While Webber continued to laboriously huff and puff his way around the garden the six of them chatted waiting for D and Donna to arrive.

As the eight of them left some time later for a friendly game of soccer Myles set up a camera and left Webber strict instructions that he was not to leave until they returned and that he expected Webber to return on Sunday morning bright and early if he was unable to complete the task before nightfall.

‘I will know if you slack off…….. I have it on camera……..’ Myles reminded him as they left.

Webber cast him a filthy look and muttered a number of obscenities under his breath which no-one heard.

Returning later with Lucy Myles ordered Webber to leave and return early the following morning since clean-up had yet to be completed, ‘and keep the noise down……… I like to rest on the weekends.......................’

YOu know I think what needed to be said already was as well as for the lap sitting by Jack and Sue.

That was fun, but the story is over. Now I am sad. Well, it was great to see Sue and Jack free to be with each other.

Goodness, I can't keep up with you. I settled down at my this morning to get all caught up and I did only now it's over. But it was a wonderful read and I loved the way they ganged up on Jack in the end! And Webber... Great story! Looking forward to reading more from you!

I don't want this to be over!! Thanks for the clean up scene - I had a picture in my mind of how Webber was picking up wet TP mumbling under his breath the whole time!! I don't think Myles' house will be TP'd next year!!!
