Halloween Challenge Follows On from Youre the one that I want!
The Games That We Play (or Kid’s Stuff)
“This is a team event with challenges for each couple to complete!” Lucy explained with a delighted grin. The late arrival of Jack, completing phase one of her overall plan. “First up we have the boys!”
“If you would care to follow me!” Myles lead the way to the kitchen. Everyone laughed when they saw four bowls lined up, complete with bobbing apples. “This is a timed challenge. You need to get as many whole apples into the bag held by you partner in sixty seconds!”
“Ok boys take your positions.” Bobby, Jack, D. and Stanley chose a bowl. “Ladies you may now tie their hands behind their backs with the rope provided.” Lucy smirked.
“Eh Jack. They’re going to tie us up mate?” Bobby asked looking to confirm Lucy’s instructions. Then we are going to dip our heads in water. And this is an American tradition?”
“You could say that!” Jack remembered his childhood growing up in Wisconsin. It was certainly a tradition there!
“Mmm. Australian men would never put up with this mate!” Bobby added thoughtfully. “But that said Australians don’t like to lose, so this is mine for the taking!”
“Are all Australians as modest as you Bobby?” Jack asked amused by Bobby’s arrogance.
“Me mate! I’m one of the more subtle ones! You know us Australians never lose. We just win badly!” Darcy held the rope out in front of her. “I’m all yours darlin” Bobby gave her a huge wink.
“Well Lois Lane never did like to share her Superman!” Came Darcy’s quick retort. Jack laughed at the pair of them. Bobby had certainly found a match in Darcy.
Sue stepped towards Jack. “Shall I take your jacket?” Jack was feeling more than a little vulnerable since the shock of seeing Sue in her Sandy outfit. Bobby socks he could have dealt with. Skin tight trousers with pert buttocks, was taking a little more time to get his head around.
“Er ok” Jack managed to get out, one or two octaves higher than he had hoped for. He swallowed and cleared his throat. Sue reached up to help slip it off his shoulders. Jack felt every hair on the back of his neck stand up in slow motion. Her fingers brushed his shoulder, and he felt a shiver go down his spine. His concentration was slowly ebbing away. “Hands?” Jack couldn’t quite understand what she wanted. “ Put your hands behind your back!” Sue said confused by Jacks lack of understanding. “Oh sorry.” Jack felt her wrap the rope around his wrists and draw it between his hands. Sues gentle touch and the softness of her skin awakening his senses even further. He felt her tighten the rope. At that very moment it might as well have been around his neck, his throat so tight he knew he could not utter a word.
“3…2..1…Go” Lucy’s excited voice managed to filter into his brain. Jack finally came to his senses his quiff reaching the bowl first! His teeth grappled for the first apple. This had been a lot easier when he was a kid .He looked to his left Bobby was having no problems. Concentrate Jack. He told himself. Remove all thoughts of Sue in that outfit from your mind! Who was he trying to kid? Finally his technique seemed to improve, one… two…. three…apples dropped into the bag.
Bobby was not use to failure in any kind of sport. He had Darcy behind him cheering him on. In his mind there really was no contest. His ego also supported that theory. Seven…eight… nine ….apples dropped into the bag.
D. wasn’t doing too badly for an “old man” Bobby’s frequents jibes about his age egging him on. He could hear Donna calling his name. That was the only encouragement he needed. Stanley on the other hand was completely out of his depth. Tara loved games, but couldn’t understand why Stanley was reluctant to play.
“59…60! The end. Boys and girls” Lucy called. “Myles check the bags.”
Myles peered into the sodden bags “ Stanley has none. D. has four. Jack has six. But undoubtedly the winner is Bobby with ten apples in the bag! Points will be awarded respectively.”
“There’s more than that in my bag!” Bobby cried indignantly, more to wind Myles up than anything else.
“No arguing with the referee otherwise I’ll disqualify you!” Myles warned in his mocking tone.
Jack stood breathless. It had been kinda fun. “Jack you are dripping!” Sue said far too sweetly for his liking
“Pardon me?”
“Your quiff has collapsed mate!” Bobby said laughing.
“I can fix it “ Sue piped up enthusiastically. She undid his rope, took him by the hand and led him towards her bedroom. Bobby gave Jack at large wink as he passed by.
Darcy gave Bobby a playful slap on the arm and glared.” What was that for?” Bobby protested. “Being subtle.” Darcy answered back.
Jack was far too embarrassed to say anything, and followed without protest. Sue shut the bedroom door behind them. Jack was now in Sue’s inner sanctum. He’d been in the apartment loads of times, but never her bedroom.
“On the bed Jack” Sue flicked her hand in the direction of the bed.
Jack raised his eyebrows. “I would rather not.” He replied hesitantly.
Sue was puzzled “ I can’t reach your hair if you are standing up” She said innocently.
What had he been thinking? It was an innocent enough request. She had no idea about the power of that outfit. He sat down and she stood directly in front of him. Taking a towel she methodically worked her way through his hair, ruffling, massaging and nearly driving him insane. His self-control was being severely tested. He had thought it best to close his eyes and look down. As she slowed down he opened his eyes and slightly raised his head, his eyes were now directly in line with her breasts. He gawped and slammed them shut again, that t-shirt really hadn’t left anything to the imagination. He felt her move away, he opened his eyes half relieved and half disappointed that the view had changed. She had no idea what she had done to him.
“Jack it’s sort of collapsed” Sue said perplexed “I could use some hair spray if you want?” Jack thought she looked very cute and her cheeks were flushed. Perhaps she did know the effect she was having on him.
“No….its er…fine…like this” He stuttered “Er… thank you” Sue had turned and missed his answer. As he got up to go Sue turned and pressed the button on the hair spray. Jack jumped back and cried out as it went into his eyes. Sue was mortified. She grabbed some cotton wool and water and started to bathe his eyes. “Jack I am so sorry, did I hurt you?”
“No, no its fine” His eyes were stinging and bleary, but Sues close proximity was worrying him more. His hands just wanted to reach out and grab her.
Sue finished her first aid. “Is there is anything else I can do for you?” She realised what she had said, “Sorry what I meant to say is if you need my help again….” Her sentence tailed off she was looking at him kind of funny.
“I’ll know where to find you” Jack finished the sentence for her. He was beginning to wonder who was struggling the most. Their eyes were locked on each others and if he wasn’t mistaken they were both looking for ..
“There you two are” Lucy stuck her head around the door. Jack was surprised she hadn’t knocked but then remembered why. “Game number two. The boys get to turn the girls into mummies!”
“Excuse me?” Sue wasn’t sure she had read that correctly.
“M-U-M-M-I-E-S” Jack fingerspelled for her. Sues eyes grew wide.
“Apparently I have two minutes to wrap you up in a many bandages well toilet paper as possible!”
“Oh” was all Sue could manage.
Jack not having quite recovered from his close encounters was wondering if his nerve would hold. “ Come on” He took Sues hand and led the way
The three remaining couples took their allocated positions. “3..2..1..Go!” Lucy shouted excitedly. Myles looked on shaking his head in pretend disgust. He was actually enjoying seeing his friends making fools of themselves, and was glad that Lucy had given him an essential but unassuming role to play. It was the most fun he had on Halloween in a long time.
Darcy stood with her arms tight beside her. Bobby’s enthusiastic approach making her giggle. Bobby’s hands seemed to be wandering everywhere, not that she minded. She was sure he had just pinched her bottom. He had tried to gag her with a bandage at the beginning of the game, but with out much success.
“Agent Manning curb your enthusiasm please!” Darcy said trying hard to be disapproving.
“That’s not what you said last night darlin!” Bobby replied daringly.
“Agent Manning!” She said in mock disgust.
“I’m superman darlin! You shouldn’t be able to feel a thing!” Bobby retorted.
Darcy giggled encouraging Bobby even more.
D. and Donna were struggling with this one. Donna’s skimpy costume being difficult to manoeuvre around. Donna’s fits of giggles and ticklish nature had left D. exasperated. There was no way they wanted to be in round three. D having discovered Lucy’s secret on the way to the bathroom.
Jack had a plan. It was simple. He would start at the bottom and work his way up. He had tied Sue’s ankles together and was slowly but carefully working his way upwards. As he started to wrap her thighs together, she started to wobble. Her arms reached out to his shoulders and she managed to stabilise herself. As his third toilet roll ran out, he had just reached her hips. He grabbed a new roll and started to reach around her pelvis, his face was millimetres from her abdomen. She could feel the warmth of his breath, as his breathing became deeper. He noticed the occasional shiver. It was impossible not to touch her, and he could feel a deep blush spreading across his face. Lucy was going to suffer for this. He didn’t know how but she would suffer. As he passed Sue’s breasts for the second time that evening, he decided the only thing he could do was get very drunk and go for complete deniability. As he reached her neck their eyes met. She looked suitably flustered, but not as embarrassed as he thought she would. For her part she was glad she could distract herself by staring into Jacks big brown eyes. Watching Bobby and Darcy had been far too educational!
“I’m sorry “ Jack mouthed as his toilet roll ran out! Her arms were still resting on his shoulders.
“Don’t be” Was as much as Sue could reply. Her heart pounding so profusely, she was sure Jack could hear it.
Jack hadn’t expected that answer. He found himself immobilised staring into her eyes trying to decipher what was going on in there. His own heart was pounding so fiercely that he thought it would explode. She started to wobble and he placed his hands on her hips, maintaining eye contact throughout.
“7..6..5..4..3..2..1..Stop” Giggled Lucy. The effect of her third glass of wine beginning to show!
Jack and Sue hadn’t seen Lucy and were frozen in their intimate pose. No one had failed to notice the chemistry going on here, and the room looked on in silence.
“Jack I don’t know what game you and Sue are playing mate, but this one is finished!” Bobby said loudly.
Everyone laughed as Jack and Sue sprung apart. With nothing to stabilise her, too higher heels and with legs bound together Sue was a catastrophe waiting to happen.
She lost her balance and reached out for Jack to save her. Jack was feeling none to stable himself, and caught off guard found himself falling backwards taking Sue with him. Shocked and surprised by the compromising position that they had ended up in they struggled once again to part company, making their friends laugh even more.
“Superman to the rescue!” Bobby said laughing as he scooped Sue up in his arms.
“You’ve got to stop throwing yourself at Jack like that you’ll give him another heart attack!” Bobby said cheekily. Sue opened her mouth to reply but shut it again quickly. Choosing instead to slap the top of his head. Bobby grinned and added. “I’d lose those shoes if I were you darlin before you do ole Sparky here a permanent injury!”
“We’re taking a short break now boys and girls.” Myles said with a hint of sarcasm “To work out the scores and unwrap the Mummies!” Jack heaved a sigh of relief and headed for the kitchen.
“You look like you need a beer mate!” Bobby passed over a bottle.
“Ah the Australian answer to everything!” Jack opened the bottle and took a long cool drink.
“Never fails mate! That and the accent!” Bobby opened another bottle for himself.
“You’ll have me singing Waltzing Matilda next!” Jack was trying hard not to encourage him!
“You should serenade Sue with that later!”
“Really?” Jack said shaking his head
“Well if that fails and being Australian I doubt that it will. You’re the one that I want might be a better solution!” Bobby was grinning inanely at him.
“Will you keep your voice down!” Jack said exasperated by Bobby’s over enthusiasm for him love life.
“You actually think that your personal life is a secret?” Bobby was incredulous.
“Well Crash I was hoping!”
“So young! So naive! So stupid!”
“Thanks for that vote of confidence Crash!”
“Oh watch out, here comes trouble!” Lucy entered the kitchen
“I need a strong man!” She said looking at Bobby.
“In that case I suggest you find a circus!” Bobby replied dryly. Lucy glared.
“Is Myles not up to it?” The last thing Jack wanted to do right now was to leave the kitchen he felt safe here!
“A long and often tedious story, that one day I may tell…However for now I would just be happy if someone could move the sofa. For the final game!” Lucy beckoned Bobby with her index finger.
“I’m all yours darlin. Just don’t tell Darce!”
After his second beer, Jack felt brave enough to venture forth into the living room. He knew it would be Bobby and Darcy verses Sue and himself. With greater hindsight he could have probably predicted that before he got here.
“Ok Girls and Boys here we go” Said Lucy. “On the table in front of you is a large platter. The platter is covered in a white powder…”
“Do we need the DEA?” D. asked pretending to reach for his mobile phone.
“I will continue. In that white powder or icing sugar, is a range of delicacies, which need to be consumed as quickly as possible by each couple. The ones who clear the plate first will be deemed this years Halloween Challenge winners!”
Jack looked at Bobby he might as well give up now.
“Once again it hands tied behind backs” Lucy added trying not to laugh. “Ok everyone ready 3…2….1…Go”
Bobby wasted no time in attacking his platter. “Jelly eyeballs my favourite!” He declared and dived in again. Deliberately blowing as much icing sugar as he could at Darcy. She hadn’t been so lucky, and was eating a piece of chilli pepper. “Manning next year we go out to dinner, none of this kid stuff!”
“Next year what makes you think I’ll be around next year?” Darcy blew as hard as she could into the icing sugar, and Bobby started to sneeze.
Lucy had been a little nicer to Jack and Sue, her plan was to get them together by the end of the evening. Chilli peppers, stuffed olives and anchovies weren’t going to do it for them. She had put one very long jelly snake on their plate.
“Ok Sue I’ve found a green jelly snake! Or at least its head!” The hint of sarcasm in his voice directed at Lucy.
“You better it eat it then!” Said Sue laughing. Jack had icing sugar all over his face.
“Thanks you’re a great help,” Jack said grinning at her. “When exactly is your face going in the icing sugar Thomas?”
“As soon as I’m finished laughing at yours Hudson!”
“As your Training Agent I see no excuse why you shouldn’t experience everything life has to offer.” Jack flirted and raised his eyebrows at her.
“And what exactly did you have in mind Hudson?” Sue’s tipped her head to one side, her lips twisted in one of his favourite poses. Don’t do this to me now Thomas he thought to himself.
“ Later Thomas. Are you going to help me win this or not?” Jack joked.
Sue used the tip of her nose to explore the icing sugar. Jack waited for her to look up, whilst continuing to eat the jelly snake. “What are you doing Thomas?” Her face screwed up and she sneezed. The icing sugar flying into Jacks face.
“Now you’ve done it Thomas” Jack blew and the icing sugar back towards Sue. Lost in their own little world they missed Bobby and Darcy being declared the winners.
Sue and Jack stood in front of the bathroom sink. “Jack when you add water to icing sugar it turns into icing!” Sue said rubbing at her face and hair.
“Your point is Thomas?” Jack looked at her grinning.
“It doesn’t come out!” Sue said confounded by the difficulties of getting it out her hair.
“Hey come here. Let me do that.” Jack took the brush from her hand and started to stroke her matted hair.
He looked in the mirror in front of them both and caught her smiling. “It’s been kinda fun huh?”
“Yeah like being a kid again.”
“Yeah there’s something to be said for being able to have fun, and not having to think before you speak” He checked that she had understood his reflection, and then turned her around to face him.
“Well it’s been fun playing with you Hudson!” Sue was flirting with him.
Jack raised his eyebrows at her comment it was now or never. “Would you like to play some more?” His question innocently seductive.
“What exactly did you have in mind?” Her reply was distinctly invitational.
“Well this for starters!” He lent forward and kissed her gently on the lips. The kiss lasted longer than he had intended, her response encouraging him to stay.
“Ahh Kiss Chase! I think I know how to play that, but you might have to remind me.” Sue said a little breathlessly.
“That would be no trouble at all Ms Thomas. But I think we better start now whilst it’s still fresh in my memory.” Jacks eyes sparkled at her.
“Would that be the kissing or the chasing?” Sue teased.
“Very definitely the kissing.” With that said. Jack drew her into the sort of passionate embrace that he had dreamed of. He was done with the chasing!
