Tara wasn’t sure what to say? Should she go ahead and tell him that he was the reason that she wasn’t in the Christmas mood this year? She could feel the tears pricking at the corners of her eyes, threatening to spill over her cheeks.
“It’s just been a rough couple months, that’s all. You know how things can get at work. And with everything that happened with Stanley and Sue almost leaving. It just all caught up to me I guess.”
Bobby didn’t completely believe her. There was something more that she wasn’t telling him. Deciding not to push it, he just gave her a big hug to try and comfort her.
“So you never told me what you’re doing here.”
Bobby pulled back and looked at her. This was it. It was now or never.
“It’s kind of a long story.”
“I’m a good listener!”
“Well you see L.A. isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. I guess I realized that I had left something behind. Something important; part of me. I knew I had to come back and get it. So that’s why I’m here.”
Tara didn’t know what to say. There was something he left behind?
“What did you leave behind Bobby?” Tara dared to ask.
“You.”

Tara couldn’t believe her ears. Had he just said her!? This wasn’t supposed to happen. Things like this only happened in fairy tales! She sat there staring at Bobby. Bobby saw the surprised look on her face and decided that he better explain himself.
“Tara, I made a mistake when I went to L.A. I was confused. After that night at the MojoGogo concert I didn’t know what to do. That night changed things. I began to see you in a whole new light. I thought I loved Darcy, and you had Stanley. So I chose to go after Darcy. But when I got to L.A. I realized that I didn’t love her. I loved the idea of being with her but we would never work out. She was too busy with her job and we never saw each other. All we ever did was fight. And I kept thinking about you. I missed what was right in front of me the whole time. Tara, you’re caring, funny, extremely giving, and you’re so beautiful. I love you Tara Williams! With all that I am, I love you.”
Bobby took her hands in his and gave a quick kiss to each of her palms. Now Tara really didn’t know what to say. The tears were streaming down her face. Her Christmas wish had just come true. Bobby Manning had just declared that he loved her, poor old Tara Williams. She could see the love in his eyes and that made her heart swell with even more love than she thought possible for the man beside her. She couldn’t believe it.
“Oh Bobby. You don’t know how amazing it is to hear that. Ever since you left I’ve been a wreck. You’re the real reason I wasn’t in the Christmas mood this year. I couldn’t stand the thought of celebrating without you. I’ve missed you so much. I put on a brave face at work but you’re all that I think about. Stanley and I broke up the day after the concert. I knew he wasn’t the one for me. When you told us you were leaving, my heart broke. I figured you didn’t love me so I didn’t say anything. You’re the only one for me. I love you Bobby.”
With that Bobby took her face into his hands and slowly brought his lips to hers. Slow and soft at first, the kiss soon became passionate sending them both reeling. Tara felt like her whole body was on fire. Never had she experienced a kiss filled with so much love and tenderness. Bobby knew that he had found the person he was going to spend the rest of his life with. When they were both running out of air Tara pulled back and rested her forehead against Bobby’s. She stared into his beautiful blue eyes. She was the luckiest woman in the whole world.
“Bobby, do you believe in Santa or miracles?”
“Of course luv. Why do you ask?”
“I didn’t until now. You see last week when we were at the children’s hospital the Santa there asked me what I wanted for Christmas. I didn’t want to play along but I figured if I did then I’d get out of there quicker. I told him the only thing I wanted was you. My Christmas Wish came true.”
Bobby smiled and kissed her again.
This was the first of many wonderful Christmases together!
