I think the problem actually would lie with if Tara's tree is big enough. **waggles eyebrows suggestively** If she's anything like me... it's a 4 ft artificial tree that has to go on a 2 ft table just to be tall enough to not be embarassing...

Tara went to bed after church Christmas eve feeling as sad as ever. She had kept herself busy the past couple days cleaning and organizing, but as soon as she got to church that evening and had time to let her mind wander and think, it never failed to head towards thoughts of Bobby. She had quickly left the church after the service so that she wouldn’t have to talk to anyone. She just wasn’t in the mood this year. She got home, put her Eeyore pj’s on and went to bed. She wanted her Christmas wish to come true, but the reality part of her knew that it wouldn’t.

It will to come true....have faith Bobby hurry up!

December 24th
7:30 am

The attendant at the counter had neglected to tell him that it wasn’t a direct flight and that they had a stop in Miami before heading on to D.C. By the time Bobby got off the plane he swore the bottom half of his body was going to fall off. Sitting on a plane for so long, especially when you’re over six feet tall is not the most pleasant experience. When he finally managed to get off the plane, he practically ran to the exit to hail a taxi. He was thankful that he had only packed a small carryon that had everything he needed in it. All the luggage from his flight had been delayed back in Miami for some reason.

He quickly hailed a taxi and gave him Tara’s address. The taxi ride was a long one and gave Bobby some time to think about what he was going to say to her. Before he knew it the taxi was turning onto 34th Street and heading towards Tara’s house. Bobby began to get nervous. Millions of questions were flying through his head. What if she’s not there? Maybe he should have called first? What if she is there but she’s not happy to see him? She has someone else in her life? What if she doesn’t feel the same way he does?

The taxi driver pulled him out of his thoughts by announcing that they had arrived. Bobby thanked him and paid him the fare with a little extra for the Christmas Holidays. There he stood in front of Tara’s house. His Tara. Or at least he hoped she would be his Tara. The questions were still running through his head, but quickly shook them away. He knew how he felt about Tara and he wasn’t about to give it up now. He had to take a chance. He walked up to the door and knocked waiting for Tara to answer.

Tara woke up Christmas morning to knocking on her front door. She looked at the clock on her bedside table and groaned. Who was knocking on her front door at 8 o’clock in the morning and on Christmas Day? She figured it was probably little miss Jenkins from next door bringing her some Christmas cookies. She quickly got out of bed, threw on her house coat and slippers and headed towards her front door.

Without looking to see who it was, she unlocked the door and opened it. Upon seeing who was there she quickly slammed the door shut and leaned her back against it. It couldn’t be! Bobby Manning was standing on her doorstep on Christmas Day! She must be dreaming!

Bobby stood there waiting for the door to be answered. He couldn't wait to see Tara's beautiful face. Just as he was about to knock again, he heard to door being unlocked and then it was opened. There stood Tara, his Tara, in her Eeyore pyjamas. He must have woken her up. It didn't matter though. To him she was the most beautiful woman in the world.

“Merry Christmas luv!” he said with a huge smile on his face.

Bang. The door was quickly shut again. His smile quickly vanished off of his face. He couldn’t believe it. One of his worst nightmares had just come true. Tara didn’t want to see him. He hadn't even gotten to tell her that he loved her. He didn’t know what to do. He just stood there shocked, tears forming in the corners of his eyes. It felt like his heart had just been ripped out of his chest.

Pardon my laughter Bobby but Tara is just as shocked to see you as you are her....I dont want to be patient but I suppose I will have to be thanks for the extra post Melissa. Good luck on your essay.

I know Tara is just shocked and she'll be ecstatic in a minute of two, when she'll understand that she's not dreaming, but for the moment I have to say... poor Bobby! He must be devastated right now.

I'm Back!!!!! Thanks so much for being so patient! I finished all my essays and I wrote my last exam tonight. I'm in a good mood and thought why not spread the joy! So here's another post. I'm hoping to have the story finished by the end of the weekend!

Tara pinched herself to make sure she wasn’t dreaming. When she felt the pain it suddenly hit her that she had slammed the door in Bobby’s face and left him standing out in the snow on her front step. She quickly turned around, took a deep breath and opened the door, hoping that he was still there.

Bobby still hadn’t moved. He didn’t know what to do. He decided that it was probably best if he just left. He started to turn around and head down the front walk when the door opened.

“Bobby!”

Bobby stopped in his tracks. Tara had just called his name. He slowly turned around to face her.

“I’m sorry I slammed the door in your face. I didn’t expect to see you and you surprised me. Would you like to come in out of the cold?”

Tara stood there nervously waiting for Bobby. She didn’t know what to do or say.

“I’d like that luv. I’m not used to this cold anymore. L.A.’s quite a bit warmer!”

Bobby followed Tara into the house. He took off his shoes and coat and followed Tara into the living room.

“Would you like some coffee? It will take a couple minutes. I wasn’t up yet. And I wasn’t expecting visitors.”

“Coffee would be great Tara.”

Tara headed into the kitchen to put the coffee on while Bobby took the time to look around her apartment. He noticed that she didn’t have any Christmas decorations up. Not even a tree. Tara was always the first one to have them up each year. He wondered why she didn’t this year.

“Tara. Where’s your Christmas tree? I thought you would have had it up by now.”

Tara came out of the kitchen with two steaming cups of coffee.

“I wasn’t really in the Christmas mood this year,” she whispered as she set the cups of coffee on the coffee table.

“Not in the Christmas mood? But Christmas is your favourite holiday!”

Taking a seat next to Tara on the couch, he looked at her waiting for her to explain. When he looked into her eyes he could see tears there and wondered what was wrong. Had something happened to his Tara that no one had told him about? Fear rose within him. If anyone had hurt her, he’d kill them.
