Short and sweet...but I understand the deadline...Merry Christmas to you!

Hospitals can be depressing places at Christmas time. I'm glad they could cheer that one up a bit.

Next Day

David and Sue walked out of the hospital with David's things.

"I am so happy you are okay. I know I've said it over and over, but I was so worried." Sue said turning towards him.

"Sue, I love you." He shook his head, "AS a friend, of course... I mean as a cousin."

They both laughed and walked to the car where there was a note on Sue's window. It read: 'THOMAS, STAY AWAY FROM PALMER, HE IS A BAD BAD BOY. I AM WATCHING YOU!'

Sue took it and put it in her pocket. "David, you can get in, I'm going to call Jack."

David got in the car and Sue made sure he couldn't suspect anything. She text messaged Jack, 'Jack, message from ? on car. me at hospital, follow me to make sure I ok. STOP.'

Jack responded, 'Yes, I'll follow you. Be careful Sue! STOP.'

Sue opened the car door and said, "I think I forgot something in the hospital, I'll be right back. Stay Put!"

She didn't forget anything, she just wanted to give Jack time to get there. She walked into the door that leads into the hospital and waited."

This can't be good...that or it is a sick joke!

I thought it was funny that she told David to stay put...usually it's the other way around and she's the one left behind...but I'm worried about her there on her own.

While sitting on the other side of the door on the floor, frightened, her blackberry vibrated. Sue jumped. She pulled her blackberry out of her purse and read what it said, 'here! you can leave now.'

With that she walked out of the hospital and opened the door to her car.

"I found it." She said. "Let's get going."

She put her seatbelt on and drove out of the parking garage. She grew more and more nervous driving with him. Although she kept rembering that Jack was right behind them. The pulled up to David's appartment and Sue got out of the car and gave him a hug.

"Bye, I'll see you later." She said and got back into her car.

Nothing had happened. She was relieved. She drove 1 mile and then pulled over. She turned one her blinkers and hoped that Jack would stop. His car pulled up behind Sue's and he got out.

"Let me see the note," He said.

Sue reached into her pocket and pulled out the piece of paper. Snow was falling and the wind was mild. There was already 2 inches of white fluff under their feet. It was 27 degrees with a wind chill of 16. So it felt colder than it actually was. The deep chill settled in fast, and Sue began shakeing. Jack noticed this and hugged Sue, and gave her his coat.

"Let's get this to Tara and to the lab." Jack said.

I love how Jack is always there for her for that, but to deal with the note!

Who is that? Why do I have a feeling it's all gonna turn ugly?

They got in their cars. Jack was scared for Sue. His baby was in danger. He called Tara.

"Tara, I'm coming with SUe, the was a note on her windshield and we are bringing it in. Be ready."

"OK Jack, I'll have the team come in and we'll need Sue to tell the story from the beginning because I'm going to try to get experts in here to help."

"Great! Good on ya Tara!"

And the hung up.

15 minutes later

As they arrived at the Bureau, Jack called Sue to park in a certian part of the garage so they could walk in together.

They parked and got out of their cars. Sue locked the doors and ran towards Jack, who hugged her, "It'll all be ok."

They walked into the Bullpen seeing 20 Agents from their own team to lab guys to specialists, and Supervisors.

"Sue tell us the whole story." Tara said as they walked in.

"The whole story?" Sue asked.

"It is necessary for us to figure out what this is about." Babby said.

"Well, if you really want to know..." Sue started. "We started dating about 1 1/2 years ago. A snowy evening, when they were after my job. When, HE worked with me and tried to pin the death of another agent in the field all on me. David took me in and treated me like a person..."

Sue continued he story, "So after that was settled, we really started to date. When we were hunting the sniper, he took me to the gala. It was the most magical night. He made an effort to try to learn ASL. Than he decided that he wanted to move, but before he would do that, he was going to find out who his birth parents were. David is adopted. So when he saw the names of my aunt and uncle, he was shocked. He had to tell me. I was his cousin, therefore, we couldn't date anymore. He told me the night before he left, at dinner. Than he left and it was really hard for me. I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep, so I came back to the Bureau, where I got a sickning gut feeling that something was extremely wrong. Then I got word his plane crashed. I figured I would never see David again. But I was wrong. We went to the hospital, to see someone and it turned out to be David. He had a fast mirculous recovery and was discharged today. We went to my car and I saw the note....... I didn't see anyone put it there, but I called Jack and had him come and follow us, to make sure I was ok. That nothing would happen. Nothing did, but, I dropped him off at his appartment and drove another mile, where Jack stopped and we came here. I really need to know if he is dangerous, I won't see him ever again."

"Wow! Tara said, "I didn't realize it was that long!"

"Let's get to work people, use every snitch, every favor, you have to, get to work!" Jack stated firmly.

Yeah...that would be good, she told the whole story!

Wow, is David really dangerous? I'm scared now...

The agents went to work.

It was 10:40 pm and they had 1 foot of snow.

By 11:30 they had 2 feet. And it was still snowing. The agents were working hard to find out what was going on when an agent yelled, "I think I got something!"

Jack, Tara, and Sue ran over to see what they had gotten.

"First of all Ms. Thomas, he is only wanted on unpaid parking tickes. He hasn't done much of anything else against the law. I think we need to payya visit to Mr. Thomas Richart. The lab confirms that his fingerprints were on the letter. We'll keep looking to see what his relations are to David."

They walked out to find a suspect.

This is weird that a man with only parking tickets is threatening her!

David has the parking tickes. Sorry if I didn't make that clear enough!

They got to Thomas Richart's house and they knocked on the door. A tall grey headed man opened the door.

"Mr. Richart?" Jack asked.

"Who wants to know?"

"Um this is Jack Hudson, I'm Sue Thomas, this is Tara Williams, we're with the FBI. We need to ask you a few questions."

He opened the door further and let them in. They walked in and sat down.

The three looked at each other, and Thomas sat down.

"What do you need?" Thomas asked.

"We have reason to believe that you put a note on an agents car warning her not to be with a man, a specific man. Do you know anything about this?? You left the not on the car in a hospital parking garage." Jack began.

"What's in it for me, I'm not saying I did or didn't, just what would I get?"

"It depends on how usefull your information is to us and if you help us at all." Tara said, while pulling out her black book.

"I don't know what your talking about. I'd never put a note on someone's car. That would be just stupid!" Thomas remarked.

"Are you sure?" Tara asked.

"When did it happen?"

"Why?" Tara asked.

"I think we have enough. Thank you for your time, Mr. Richart. We're sorry to take up so much of your time." Jack said.

The three walked out of the house.

This seems a bit odd to me!

"Who could it be?" Sue asked Jack.

"I don't know, Sue. But I promise that I will find him and figure out what is going on."

And just as Jack said that, they heard, "WAIT." coming from the house they were just in. Jack tapped Sue's shoulder and the three turned around. They saw Thomas Richart standing in the doorway. They turned around and walked back to his house.

"What, Mr. Richart?" Tara asked.

"I don't know why I lied, can you come back in and I'll tell the whole story." Thomas said.

They walked in and sat back down.

"What's this about Mr. Richart?" Sue asked.

"Okay, I wrote the note, and I put it on your car. But I had a good reason."

The three agents looked more confused than ever and looked at him wondering 'WHAT??'

Thomas continued, "Palmer was in the military with me for four years after college. We both joined the Army National Guard, It helped pay for college. At one point, there was a group of people in trouble and he didn't do anything about it. He just sat there."

"And this is why he is a 'bad bad boy?', Thomas?" Sue asked.

"Well, yeah. I mean, I'm sorry to scare you or anything, he also killed someone..."

"WHAT?" Sue said, not realizing that she screamed.

Jack stepped forward, "Explain!"

"That 19 year old girl the died 4 years ago, it was his neice and he hit her with his car. It was hit and run."

"How do you know so much about him?" Tara asked.

"I'm his brother. I changed my last name. My wife and I decided to do the rare thing and take her name. I figured it would look better."

Sue was astonished, "Um, you'll need to come with us, we need to bring David in and see what is going on." Jack said, partly to Tara and partly to Thomas.

"Let's go!" Tara said.

They walked out with Thomas not in cuffs. He wasn't a criminal... yet.

“Hello, David!” Sue began “Are you doing anything?”

“No, why? What can I do for you?”

“I was wondering if you could meet me at the FBI?” Sue asked.

“Sure. When should I be there?” David responded.

“As soon as possible. Jack and I are on our way, but I want to talk to you about something.”

“Okay.” And they hung up.

10 minutes later and they arrived at the Bureau.

They get out of the car and Tara takes Thomas inside. David is waiting.

“What’s going on?” David asked.

“I could ask you the same question.” Sue responded firmly, with Jack by her side.

“Okay, what’s wrong?” David asked.

“David, is Thomas Richart your brother?”

“Uh, yeah. He’s my adopted brother.”

“Did you kill a girl 4 years ago? Your niece?” Jack asked.

“She was walking and I was backing up out of a driveway. It was a complete fluke. I stopped and when the paramedics and the cops said I could go, I did. By the time my brother, Thomas, had gotten there, I had left. He has never let me live that down.” David said.

Sue was confused, “You were in the Army National Guard?”

“Yes. If you’re referring to the incident, with the group of soldiers…”

Sue nodded.

“Listen, Sue. I was wounded myself. I couldn’t do anything about it.” David said.

“Well, your brother says differently.” Jack said.

“Can we straighten this out? I really don’t want to be on your top most wanted list. If we can, can we do it inside? It’s really starting to get cold out here. More and more snow is falling.” David said.

“Let’s go in.” Jack said.

“Men are so wimpy!” Sue signed and she walked inside.

Inside bureau with David, Sue, Jack, Thomas, and Bobby just joined the group.

“Let’s go to a Conference Room.” Sue said.

The five walked into the room. David and Thomas sat by each other and Jack and Sue sat on the other side of the table. Bobby stood in the corner, to make sure everything would stay fine.

“Let’s talk this out.” Sue said.

“Thomas, tell your half of the story…” Jack said.

“Ok, well I have a question… Thomas, why did you kill our niece? And why did you leave those people to die in the Army National Guard?” Thomas asked.

“I didn’t do it on purpose! When I hit Denise, I stopped and waited until the paramedics and the cops said I could go. AND I was wounded myself. I couldn’t help the men, because I couldn’t move at the time.”

“I think we’re good. I thought you didn’t care, David. I’m sorry if I caused any problems.” Thomas said.

Thomas left.

“Mom! Dad! I’m home!” Sue yelled walking into her house in Youngstown with David. “Our plane got delayed.”

They walked in and saw Sue family; her mom, her dad, and her 3 brothers.

“Hi guys. This is David. He’s my biological cousin. Remember when Aunt Lola and Uncle Greg died. This is their son. He lives in Washington D.C. now.”

Her mom gave him a hug and the men shook his hand.

“Our Christmas party is today. It’s with family and friends. They will be happy to see you!” Sue’s mom told Sue.

Around 3:30, everyone started coming in to the house. Their was yuletide cake and Sue playing the piano.

They looked outside, after everyone had arrived, and it started snowing. What a perfectly white Christmas, with friends and family.
