Sue sat at her desk. She had a grim look on her face. The only light was from the team’s Christmas tree lights. She thought back to the night before.

-They walked to the airport. “Sue never forget me and I’ll never forget you.” He planted a kiss on her cheek. “Bye, my love.” And he turned around and walked away. Tear shot down her face and she broke down. I can’t let him leave. I love him too much.

“Flight 701 now boarding.” He was gone, and she knew it.

The same thought ran in her mind, ‘Only two weeks until Christmas and he moves.’ –

So she sat in the bullpen, alone. She couldn’t sleep last night, so she came in before anyone else. Her watch said 6:27. She realized that she really did get here early. No one will arrive to work for another hour ½ .

At 7:00 AM

“What’s wrong shelia?” Bobby said tapping her shoulder. He was obviously concerned to see his coworker so distraught.

Sue turned to look at her coworker, wiping the tears from her eyes. Hoping that it would be Lucy, or Tara. She didn’t want it to be Bobby, D, Ted, or any of the other guys.

“Oh, Bobby.” She instantly fell into his arms, “I can’t bear it any longer, the move and everything, and I think that something might have happened to the plane. It’s a gut feeling that won’t go away and I don’t know what to do about it. I couldn’t sleep, so I decided to come in early. Sorry you have to see me like this. I realized that I love him and I wish I would have told him sooner.”

A smile came across the Aussie’s face as he reassured her, “Sue, no matter what happens, we are always here for you. You don’t have to worry about that. Okay?”

This looks like it's going to be an angsty ride, so I'm glancing cautiously up from here.

Yea, I agree with Kav, this has the makings of an angsty story. It doesn't look like there'll be enough room under that chair with (especially considering that I probably doubled my weight over Thanksgiving ) so I'll go behind the couch

One by one the agents started piling in. Myles brought Krispy Kreme Donuts, Lucy brought paperwork, and D brought a new case. One that involved a plane, and a hijacking. Immediatly Sue gasped.

"What happened?" Tara asked Lucy.

Sue faught her tears as she asked, "What flight is it?"

Bobby realized what was wrong with Sue, whereas no one else understood.

D responded, "Um, FLIGHTS, plural. There was 501, 601, 801, and 701. Why? Does it matter, what ones there were."

"GOOD MORNING EVERYONE! I smell Krispy Kremes! How is everyone's Christmas shopping going?" Jack asked cheerfully waltzing in to the bullpen.

He then realized that Sue was at her desk, tears strolling down her face. Jack turned to his coworkers, "What did I miss?"

He wished he could have been there for her, like she was always there for him. He should have noticed something was wrong with her the minute he walked in! The tall Aussie's hand went up as if he were like a kid in Elementry school back in Australia. He was so tall that his hand almost reached the ceiling.

"What Crash!" Jack asked frustraitedly. He thought that Bobby was joking around.

"Jack, Dog Park Guy left last night on a flight to move to Saint Louis, Missouri. The flight he was on was hijacked along with three others and we don't know if there were any survivors."

Myles curously asked, "Do we know where they crashed?"

Just as D started to answer, "We don't know." Tara interupted, "Uh yes we do."

Tara stated, "It just came in! Here it goes: Flight 501 crashed a Michigan Elementary School; Flight 601 hit an Ohio High School; 701 collided with a Virgina corn field and 801 hit an Indiana College. We can guess that 701 was headed towards a school in Virgina. Um... maybe even the Academy. (FBI Academy, Quantico, VA)"

Tara looked up. "I'll get the schools so that you can talk to potential witnesses."

"I'll take care of Sue." Jack and Lucy said at the same time.

At first I thought it was Jack going on the plane and I was kinda suprised when he walked in the door. I guess you did that on purpose. Anyhoo good start.

hmmmm you really scared me, i thought it was jack...but now i'm sad because david didn't deserve this.....well i'm going to wait what the next thing is what you are going to write

Jack suddenly grew concerned, "Another terrorist attack? But why today? Why target schools? Do we have a list of victims?"

Tara, being the smart one knew just what to say, "Yes, we believe it was another attack. Only they know why today, and as for the schools, maybe to target the youngest, most innocent Americans? We don't know anything for sure. We don't have lists of any of the plane crashes except for Flight 701."

Jack became antsy, "Give it to me Tara!"

Tara read the list of the names, "First of all there are 39 names listed and 49 on the flight, so we know that 10 are unaccounted for. Here it goes, everyone listen up, I don't want to read these again!

Wow... you are definitely going to make this story a doozy if Sue really is in love with David

Sue gained some hope, but was still worried about David. She loved him, but not like a boyfriend, like a brother. She had something to say and she didn't wnat the whole team knowing just yet. So she signed, 'Lucy, can I talk to you and Jack in the room across the hall?" Lucy replied signing, 'Yeah sure.' "Jack! Come here."

The three walked out of the room into the hall and then into the room that was a conference room, on the other side of the hall.

"What's up Sue?" Lucy asked.

Now having somewhat composed herself, she was ready to reveal her secret.

"David and I went to a fancy resturant last night before he left to move to Indiana. I thought it was just going to be a farewell and a dinner, but David had a surprize for me." Jack's face grew scared, 'please don't say he propossed!' Sue continued, "He brought out a manilla file envelope full of legal papers. I tried to ask him what it was for, but he wouldn't tell me. He just said to read them. I didn't know what it was all about, so I just read them. I opened the file and there were two paperclipped piles of paper. One titled, J. Edgar Hoover F.B.I. Building, Office of Superior Aaron Spencer, and the other titled, Care Choice's Legal Adoption Records. I remembered that David had told me that he was adopted and didn't want to meet his birth parents. Well, he decided to find them, and found out that they were dead. Then he looked down and saw a name that he recognized... Thomas. David is my biological cousin. My aunt and uncle were killed in a car crash when David was 1 1/2. No one in the family could take care of him in the family, so he was put in foster care."

"Sue, what was on the papers from here?" Jack asked somewhat relieved that she hasn't said that they are engaged.

"Oh, he said since we're cousins and he is moving and all, I won't have anyone to look after me. So he went to Director Spencer and got permission for you and I to date and get married. He said that I deserved a good man and he thought that he should leave his little cuz' alone with you! Then when I got the news that the plane crashed, my life was turned upsidedown. My favorite cousin had not been accounted for. He loved me for who I am, only 3 other people have done that... Judy, you, Jack, and Lucy. I did love him as more than a friend, but that made it all so much easier to get to know each other and become even closer. It's harder than anything. It's hard to explain. I just felt I needed to tell someone, and you two have always been there for me, since the day I walked into Jack's office, and ran into Lucy! I hpe you don't mind me telling you this." Sue looked at them.

There was a long silence unlike none other. Each second, there seemed to be something eating away at the pit of their stomachs. How were they going to tell the rest of the team? Did Jack really want to marry Sue?

Oh my...now there's a twist I didn't expect...David is Sue's cousin, now there's an amicable way to make way for Jack....

I would have loved to be a fly on the wall just to see Jack's face when Sue told him that David got permission from Director Spencer for them to have a dating and marriage relationship...

Finally, with what seemed like forever, Jack stepped up and said, “We probably should get back to the office. The team… is probably wondering what is taking us so long!”
They all agreed. By now the agents might be getting worried. Jack held the door open for the two ladies, but when Sue started to walk out the door, he grabbed her arm and swung her toward him, and he embraced her. He closed his eyes and kissed her. At first she as stunned and didn’t know what to do. Then she remembered that David felt comfortable with Jack and wanted Sue to have him. Neither of them knew that Lucy was secretly smiling and watching as the two kissed each other.
Jack wished so much that he could have told David thank you, but he couldn’t.
They let go of each other. “We better go!” Sue said. She didn’t know what else to say. ‘I love you?’ No, ‘More later?’ What an amazing advancement! They could now be a couple! And a great Christmas gift for the both of them!
They walked into the office. The team was working at their desks, but when they saw Sue and Jack enter, the all stood up and applauded. How could have they figured out? Did Lucy tell them?

Sue went right to her desk. She had a call! She answered the phone. Who could be calling her at the time??

Sue: Hello?
Man: Hi Sue! How are you?
Sue: Do I know you?
Man: Well, of course you do!
Sue: Remind me!
Man: I will.

Bobby, Jack and Myles walked over tosee what was going on. Followed by Tara and Lucy.

Man: Can you meet me at the hospital?
Sue: Why? Why would you need me to meet you at a hospital?
Man: I am a patient. I need to talk to an agent.
Sue: Okay. What hospital and what room number?
Man: I'm at Saint Anne's in Virgina. My room number in 301.
Sue: Ok... Can I bring anyone?
Man: Of course! The more the merrier! As many people as you feel comfortable with!
Sue: Great! Bye.

The team all got in their cars. Jack with Sue; Lucy and Tara; Myles and D; and Bobby and Levi! They drove to the hospital where they would meet someone who could help solve the case.

They walked in and Sue saw the receptionist. She was medium height, and looked very nice.

"Hello, Ms. .....?" Sue started.

""Oh hi! And welcome to Saint Anne's! My name is Tippy Williams! Nice to meet you!" Tippy said.

"Nice to meet you too! Sue said the the woman.

Jack stepped foreward, "Can you be so kind as to point us inthe direction of room 301?"

Tippy looked sad, "I'm sorry, but we can't allow this many visitors in that room. It's in ICU (Intensive Care Unit)."

Bobby said, "Ma'am, we all work for the FBI and we need to ask this perticual patient some questions involving a case we are wroking on."

"All right, down that way." Tippy said.

They walked into the elevator. Third Floor!

Nice tie-in to Doc! I love it!

The elevator stopped on the third floor. ANd they walked out.

"I think this is the right floor!" Sue said looking up and down the halls. "No one's here! Well, she did say that no visitors were allowed on this floor. Let's go."

Jack and Bobby were looking on either side of the hall, trying to find the room.

"HERE! 301!" Bobby announced.

They walked in, letting Sue go in first.

Sue saw Christmas lights, holly, and a banner that said, "I Love You, Sue! Merry Christmas!"

She looked in the bed and the figure turned to look at her, "Glad to see you!" He said.

Sue immediatly gasped, "Oh my Goodness!!!"

Ok, so if Sue was that surprised.... I'm probably gonna be like... or
So, please I need more...

She ran up to the man. "Is that really you? Are you okay? How are you feeling?"

The team had no idea what was happening. Who was she talking to? It was too dark in the room for the agents to recognize the brused and cut man in the hospital bed. He was black and blue with plenty of bandages on.

"Sue..." the man said and signed, "I'm so glad you could come! I have been waiting to tell you that I am fine."

"Oh David! How did you survive? I was so worried!" Tears of relief, joy, and sorrow ran down Sue's face.

The team watched from outside the room.

"Sue, tell them they can come in. I asked my nurse to get me a Christmas tree to put in my room. I hate the dullness of it. So I got a tree and she was nice enough to put lights and bulbs in it! She even put a star on the top. At night she'll come in before she leaves and turn the lights on. It's beautiful isn't it!" David was looking at the rainbow colored light shimmer with the bulbs shining. It was the prettiest tree she had ever seen!

"But, David, how did you survive?" Sue asked again.

"Sue, I leave that for later. I'm just happy to see you again. Did you tell Jack anything yet?"

Sue looked nervous to tell him. "Yeah. I did. Somehow the team all figured out, too."

That's cool, they're cousins! How exciting....and David recognized that Jack and Sue were meant for each other...how funny! Glad he's okay.

the team walked in and smiled at SUe and David. They realized how important life was.

Okay you threw me for a loop there!

"Do you really want to know?" David asked.

"Yes. David, please tell me." The team walked in.

"We were 45 minutes into the trip when a giant fighter jet flew up next to us. I knew something was up, so I went to the back of the plane to try and find a way out. I found a parachute. Just then a passenger ran in to find the same thing that I was looking for. I punched him in the stomach, and he punched me in the face. We both wanted that parachute and I was not going to let him have it. After a large fight, I got the parachute..."

Typical man, making it larger than life

"What else happened?" Jack asked.

"Well, I jumped out of the plane and right after I jumped out I looked behind me and the same plane crashed and split our jet in a million pieces. After I got far enough away that it felt safe, I pulled the cord that let the parachute out and a glided down to earth. Than I landed in a thorn tree. That hurt! Parts of both planes landed about 2 miles away, so when they were looking for survivor and clues, they found me, and boy am I happy about that! Then I came here. They just wanted to make sure I was fine. They say I'll be good to go in about 3 days. They are moving me to a regular room, just they are going to watch me really closely, tomorrow. Than if nothing goes wrong, I'll be out of here!" David seemed like he was telling the truth, but Sue could imagine that he would try to impress her!

I think Sue thinks like me!

Sue started to cry, "I can't believe that you are ok! I was so worried! Look at me... I'm cring!"

They each walked up and gave him a hug. Sue sat back and looked at the Christmas Tree. What a magical, marvoulous Christmas it had turned out.

The nurse came in to take vitals. "He looks good! He'll be out of here in 2 days! You're strong, you know that, David. You're strong! I'll get the doctor to check on you later and have you moved to a regualr room, as soon as possible!" And the nurse walked out.

Come on...can we have more! Please!

sorry... my brother was just diagnosed with type 1 juvinile diabetes, so I'm kinda out of it. You know, stressed and tired, I'll post more when inspiration strikes me!

"you hear that, You'll be out for Christmas! You can celebrate with me when I fly to Youngstown for the parties." Sue said smiling.

"I would love that Sue!" David said. "I want to meet my family!"

"Sue, since we are in the worst place for Christmas right now, can you start us in Christmas songs?" Jack asked, with a smerk.

"Sure."

"Silent Night, Holy Night... ....Away in a Manger, the little boy wakes... Jolly Old Saint Nicholas, lean your ear this way.... ....Joy the the World, the Lord is come, let earth recieve her king... ....We wish you a Merry Christmas, we wish you a Merry Christmas, we wish you a Merry Christmas, and a Happy new year."

The room was filled with hope and Christmas spirit. Everyone was happy until and bright light came in the window for the heavens and touched David like a white blanket. Then they heard, 'Get Up! Sing Glory to God in the Highest!'

And David got up and proclaimed what had just happened. He had a physical miracle. Thank God! He was really starting to get sick of the hospital food.

"Wait David, let us make sure you're ok." The nurse told him.

The ran the tests. And the results werealmost as good as if he had never been there for problems.
