Thankyou, Thankyou, Thankyou to everythone who's both reading or commenting. You all are my inspiration!
And again, Joy, you are too good for me!
It's only 2? Sue thought as she looked from the clock to Levi who lay at her feet. "Levi? Do you have to go out?" She asked quietly.
The dog didn't even bother to respond. Instead, he rolled onto his side. Sue sighed as she pushed back the covers and sat up, rubbing a hand over her eyes. She had gone to bed at 11, and she had hoped that she would be able to get a little bit of sleep. She wasn't even blessed with a wink.
After giving another sigh, she stood and walked to the door, opening it as quietly as she could. Levi opened his eyes, then closed them again with a snuff coming from his closed mouth. Sue walked into the hallway, closing the door behind her, but just open enough for Levi to get out.
She walked to the couch and sat down. She knew that getting up wouldn't exactly help her sleep but she was tired of thinking. She needed to get out - she needed to something other then lay in her bed and think about the what if's.
Slowly, she stood and walked to the front hall. She shrugged on her coat and placed a pair of gloves on her hand. After giving a final look to her bedroom door, she walked out.
--
Sue found herself heading to the park. She decided not to take the car because she knew she wasn't going any place in particular, just out.
She also found herself thanking God over and over again that she was still alive. If the team had waited a few more minutes to come in, she would have been dead. Ronald was tightening the rope more and more and she remembered feeling herself going faint. That's when she thought Jack was a dream. She had never been so relieved to see him.
She pulled her jacket tighter to herself as she entered the dog park. She knew that anyone who was here would think she was crazy but this seemed to be the best park to come to to just clear your mind - and that's what she needed more then anything.
A thought crossed her mind that made her stop. I'm angry at Jack for not coming to my rescue immediately, aren't I? She thought to herself, bringing tears to her eyes. "No." She said definately, hoping it wasn't true. But the more she considered it, the more she realized that it was true. Jack had told her that he would be there for her in 5 seconds. He wasn't.
For some reason, that left Sue feeling desperately upset and lonely. Her heart ached for him and she knew it. She knew that for once in her life, she was sure about something. She was sure about this man.
When her mother had asked her about Jack, she knew that he was the one. Never in her life had her mother asked her about a man. Sue found a familiar bench and sat down. She was satisfied to just sit and look at the small water fountain ahead of her. Even though she couldn't hear the soft babbling of the water droplets hitting the seemingly steady water underneath, she knew that it would sound beautiful.
When she looked up, she met a familiar face.
"Jack, what are you doing here?"

Hi everyone!
Thankyou so much for your fantastic comments!
I'm sorry to say that I won't be able to post for today and possibly tomorrow or the day after. You see, today we are finishing up packing and then heading to Florida. Therefore I won't be on the internet for quite a while.
I'll try to get at least a few posts in while we're there for the next two weeks but I can't guarentee anything.
Again, thankyou so much for your continued support!

Again, thankyou all! I'm having some trouble with inspiration so I hope you all can enjoy this. Okay.. here goes:
"Jack, what are you doing here?" Sue asked, looking up to the dark haired agent.
He gave a sideways smile and a shrug before taking the empty side of the bench. "I, uh.. I couldn't sleep."
Sue nodded with a smile. "Yeah. Me either."
Jack nodded, looking into the water fall. "Did you, uh.." He turned to her. "Why are you here?"
"I don't know. I just felt like this would be a good place to come." She whispered, barely glancing to him.
"Sue, I need to say something." He said in a hoarse voice. For once, he was thankful Sue couldn't hear him - the uneasiness in his voice.
"Okay."
"It's about the.. undercover." Sue nodded, waiting for him to continue. After taking a deep breath, he did. "Sue.. I'm so sorry."
"About what?" She asked, gently touching his arm.
She felt his whole body shake when she touched him and she immediately pulled her arm back.
"About.. about everything." He said, placing his arms over his chest and giving a deep sigh. "I wasn't there when you needed me the most."
"I know it wasn't your fault." She said quietly, silently knowing that that wasn't what she believed.
"You don't really believe that." He stated, not even letting it sound like a question. It wasn't a question.
Sue looked away, her eyes automatically wandering back to the fountain.
"Sue." Jack whispered, taking her hands in his. She turned back to him, a look of surprise crossing her features. "I.. I hope you can forgive me."
Sue gave a small smile. "It's already done." She said quietly, then leaned in and layed her head against his chest.
Jack's hand moved to her shoulder, pulling her closer to him.

WOW. I come home from a one week vacation and what do I find? all the drama is over, all the conflicts (almost) resolved. And I think I could get used to reading like this... I don't know if any of you guys noticed...but I'm not so good at dealing with cliffies

But it was very stressing having to scroll down to find out if Sue was rescued or not... I mean, those few seconds were enough to make me panic . I dare not think of what would have happened had I actually had to wait a DAY for that crucial info.
Anyway, great posts Tracy

Hmm, well how about this. If I promise a sequel, would you be okay with no kiss? Yet?The next morning, all was normal. Myles, D, and Bobby were standing at the coffee maker while Lucy and Tara were scheming about finding Lucy's cousin a boyfriend.
Jack and Sue were the only ones seated at the moment, that is until Jack stood and walked to Sue's desk.
"You want some coffee?" He asked, motioning with his head to the coffee maker and the agents that surrounded it.
"I'm fine. Thanks." Sue said as she glanced from her friends to Jack.
Jack nodded, doing his familiar bowing out step back. He turned and walked to the group.
"Jack, Jack." Bobby said, stopping his friend from getting to the coffee maker by draping his arm over Jack's shoulder. "You can't hang on her like a cat, Mate." He said, turning away so Sue couldn't read him and Myles and D couldn't hear them.
Jack smiled. "I know, Crash. But, it just feels better."
Bobby removed his arm and threw his hands in the air. "Hey. Who am I to stand in the way of two love birds."
Jack simply shoved his arm into his friend before turning to the coffee maker and pouring himself a cup.
I wonder what Mom's up to. Sue put her pencil on her desk, suddenly shocked by the thought. Mom? Why did I think of Mom? She asked herself, glancing to the calender that hung by D's desk.
Slowly, she stood and walked out of the bullpen. She passed the elevator and kept walking until she came to the conference room that sat at the end of the winding corridor. She opened the door and stepped in, then pulled out her blackberry.
After dialing a few numbers, she pulled the microphone from her pocket and waited.
"Hello?" Came the reply.
"Hi, Mom?"
"Hi sweetie. How are you doing?""I'm fine. Mom.. I just.. I wanted to wish you a Happy Mother's Day."
There was silence that followed. Sue hoped she hadn't lost the connection.
"Mom?" Sue asked, pulling the microphone closer to her mouth.
After a pause, the words
"I love you, sweetheart." flashed over the small screen.
"I love you too, Mom."

Tracy
Well, I'm finally reading you story.
I couldn't remember where I left off, so I'm rereading from the beginning. I'm up to your post of 3/4/07, 6:07p. I couldn't stay on the internet last night, so I printed it and pasted into a Word file (including the comments) and it is going much faster than reading over my dad's slow, dial-up modem. It is 134 pages in Word (12 pitch, Arial) and I read through page 70 last night. I decided to go ahead and post my thoughts this morning before I pick it up again.
This is a delightful read.
I loved to play the game Clue with my children, and with my siblings, many years ago. As others have said, your insight into the characters is marvelous. You portray them exactly as they would on the show and weaving a wonderful mystery! Jack and Sue's relationship...it is right on the money. However, I am glad you got Jack's involvement with Jesse cleared up, at least with Sue, so quickly. Now, I'm ready to read about Jack's reaction
when Sue tells him she went over his head to seek permission to go undercover as Mrs. Peacock. He was not happy with her before; I think he will be furious with her now!
I am simply amazed at your talent for one so young. Congratulations on a great story.
Now, I'm off to finish reading!

Wow! Way to go Jack! Take her into your arms and kiss her, right there in the hallway, where everyone can see you. Nothing like bringing it out in the open in a big way!
Oh, no! was my first reaction…Jack you have to finish what you started….don’t leave it hanging there, like a great wall between the two of you!!!!!! But, then, leave it to Levi. He knew what he was doing, refusing to get off the elevator. Good for you, Sue, to get on the elevator…now, Tracy, we ARE going to have a great scene in a STOPPED elevator, right?
Oh, Tracey…not only am I disappointed they didn’t carry on with their relationship in the elevator…now you have Jack being kidnapped, possibly being hurt? How could you!!!!
Oh, you are such a tease, Tracy...you little minx you…scaring me like that! I’m loving it! Oh, that was such a lovely interchange between Jack and Bobby. Wise words you offered there for Jack, Bobby. I love to see the friendship brought out between these two guys, Tracy; and, you are doing a wonderful job in that arena.
Geez, I have egg on my face. I ran across two comments I made back in March but I had only read up to the mustard/ketchup on the lips. Oh, well, I enjoyed rereading those first few chapters again to refresh my memory.

EEK! You know how to leave us hanging with our hearts beating out of control with fear! It must be Jack…she just moved in, how could the villain know where she lived so soon? No phone book with her name in it…no internet to look her up….unless, of course, the team put her name on the internet so the villain could find her. But, then he must have already had a list of all the people, so why would he go back and look again? Oh, so many questions…I need answers! Oh, yes, they’re already there. Let me read on!
Ah, it was Jack…thank goodness….I knew it all along! J That was so cute…and leave it to Jack to figure out a way to say what is in his heart, even if it is in undercover mode. At least he is getting the practice. This is getting better and better all the time, Tracy. The action is swift and building! Now…when are we going to have some fuzzies? Oh, btw, Sue should say…”Well, Jack, I should really be asking you to marry me, since you’ll need to be taking my name!” J Cindy, you have the same thought as I about Jack’s undercover name. Julie, I love your comment, “Captain Peacock”!
They didn’t do it? It was just a joke on Jack’s part? Oh, you are cruel to do that to us Tracy!!!! And now, it has happened for real? EEEEEEKKKKKK!
It’s hard to describe how I’m feeling…I’m numb…I think I’m in shock along with Sue. On the one hand, you have me thinking this could be for real, this man come to pick up the books; on the other, common sense tells me, no one would have called….Numb, just numb!
Oh, I agree with Kav…Jack “can’t come in right now”? He is difinitely toast! Of course, Joy, they have to wait until the guy makes a threat! Why didn’t I think of that?
Thank goodness! They finally got him and now Jack is comforting Sue. I didn’t realize my heart was beating so fast an I’d been holding my breath, until now when it is slowing down. Now, are we going to have some truth telling on Jack’s part?
Yes, Tracy the suspense WAS that bad! But, that’s a good thing…it shows off the talent of the writer…which you definitely have, for keeping us on the edge of our seats! I only hope I can do that good when the time comes for my villain to act! J
Nice emotions on Sue’s part when Luce tries to get her to talk, which, of course, is what Sue should be doing.
Oh, Jack showed up in the park!!!! How wonderful…you know, I was hoping he would do that! Thanks Tracy. Can’t wait until the next post!
Ah, Tracy, I know you were on vacation…but; we have to have more than that…great start though! Forgiveness is what it is all about and I have that warm and fuzzy feeling.
Tracy…………………….no kiss? Ack! Ack!
