Bobby mannings Recipe for Sadness

Take one small 1/2 American 1/2 Austrailian guy
Add his idiotic criminal and deserting Dad
Add a Gambling problem
Add an ex girlfriend who broke his heart
Sprinkle in a crush on a fellow agent which cant go anywhere
Stir and bake for a very long time

Her heart broke for him ,his past had messed him up good and proper she couldnt believe he had a gambling problem and she , they didnt know and how dare Darcy have hurt him so badly she knew he'd been sad after they'd split but Stan had been back and she hadnt truly noticed. That filled her with guilt.

Who was this agent he had a crush on it couldnt be her could it ... nah it was someone in another team... but then it could go somewhere maybe it was her maybe he liked her but it was in his words a crush and they didnt mean anything ... ugh this was making her head spin. Bobby woul be a while ... she thought so she headed for a hot shower and clean up before heading to the kitchen to cook some dinner. She made something simple and ate that and tidied up trying to kill time waiting for Bobby to appear ... at ten he still hadnt appeared . so she changed into her pyjamas a vest top and cropped trousers combination in a deep red and curled on the sofa to read her book.

Over an hour later there was a knock on the door just as she had strted to reread her own recipe ... she slipped on her robe and answered the door to bobby.

"um hey come in"
"Im sorry its so late I... well you've read the recipe so I can say now I was at a GA meeting then me and some friends I've made from there went out for a drink.I didnt get the message then had to drive acrosss town...."

"Bobby shush! your babbling I have read the note and we need to discuss it but I have written a similar note and I kind of dont want you to read it but you neeed to"

"I dont have to if you dont want me to "

Bobby was sensible and so did as he was told and sat and read tara's note

Add 1 long distance on and off relationship with an NSA agent
ADD 1 extremely gorgeous action megastar witha a crush on said computer geek
Add one great friend completely gorgeous Aussie FBI agent who geeky agent has secret crush on
ADD his girlfriend upsetting him and leaving for LA
Plus a handful of FBI Beaurocracy(sp)
and stir hard
and there you have it my life of sadness and deaspair

Bobby read Tara's recipe and tears streamed down his cheeks she liked him and he'd been so stupid had hurt so badly and so much in her life had already hurt her.

Seeing his tears Tara sat next to him on the sofa...

"Whats wrong bobby...?"

"your note its well Im sorry and we need to talk lets disect theses like it was an investigation and sort this out.....but its nearly midnight we can do it tomorrow if you want..."

"no I'll call in sick tomorrow if i have to we need to sort this!" Tara said her determined agent look on her face and bobby knew that even if he wanted to he couldnt get her to chage her mind

"OK then We'll start with mine then ask what you want and I'll explain or you can say stuff"



Tara held the note in her one hand and bobby looked away from her so she grabbed his habd to attract his attention but didnt let go when he turned to her liking the feel of their hands joined.

"Bobby your an amazing man and genetics doesnt make you its part of you yes but its nurture not nature that makes you who you are maybe if your mum hadnt met your pops you could say your ... Mac had shaped your personality and he has slightly but the person who has made you who you are today is you pops he loves you and you loe him anyone can tell that and ... again Bobby you are an amazing person."

She smiled at him and wiped away the tears that were flowing freely with her hand and pulled him into a hug, less than 48 hours befor the situatin had been reversed and he had been comforting her yet this felt just as right as that had and she knew he needed it was grateful her Nonna had taught her the vaue of a hug.

Loved it And the best part is...what Tara said was all true...Bobby is that and much more!

Yes, they are both amazing people!

Tara is right, they need to do it tonight

And no one should underestimate the power of a hug, it can brighten the gloomiest day

And after the hug can also be beneficial.

A short while later Bobbys tears stopped and tara waiped his cheeks with her hand gently letting him know she was there.

She then looked back to the note and knew the next part of the recip[e was going to be even harder to discuss.

"so" bobby spoke before she could "now we come to my... um problem"
"yeah... " Tara said softly "why didnt I we know Bobby we would have supported you ... helped you."
"no one knows... you know I'd lose my job if the AD found out.... mum and pops dont even know only one person apart from the people at the GA meetings know.... and that wasnt my choice" he said not able to look Tara in the eyes the shame of his problem overwhelming him with alll the other emotion that was floating around.

"Jack?" Tara said questioningly though she knew if anyone knew it would be him he and Bobby were coser than friends and closer even tthen brothers , having been close to death with each other there was very little they didnt know about each other.

Bobby nodded " when I was really having a lot of trouble I got into some bad debt couldnt pay my bills and that Jack paid it off for me got me straightened up I was fine then on that Gambling case I got pulled back in Jack had to rscue me again .. ... He saved me from losing everything.... but Im in A now and I havebetter things to think about now " he said smiling at her although she could see a deep sadness in his eyes.

"well I know aswell now and I cant help you financially even if I needed or wanted to I havent got enough to get my car fixed even... "
she added not knowing why she'd shared that as she was normally very private about her finances or lack thereof..
"but Im here for you and I'll be there for you if you need to talk ..... its an addiction your trying to break Im your friend and Im here for you no matter what ok.... you dont need to be ashamed bobby its ok you are a guy with a problem but your fixing it and you are a fabulous guy despite those problems "
she slipped her hand to his chin and tipped it up to make him look at her.

"ok tara ... " he made an attempt at smiling at her "and hanks luv it means alot to know you think im a good guy despite it.

I love how supportive Tara was! She and Bobby are great together!

"not a problem bobby you are a good guy... and anyway moving on to the last part of the note ... Darcy hurt you , you clearly loved her a lot and its not surprising I mean ses gorgeous got a great job lots of money and well she was in love with you............. and I dont get who you like or why it cant go anywhere but dont be like Jack ... Tell them and sort it out together" she said still not believeing she was the agent he liked.

Bobby rolled his eyes frustratedly wen she looked away.

"right anyway now time to discuss your recipe


"right ms williams for a start you arent a geek you are an intelligent highly skilled woman with skills that are so amazing they scare me silly sometimes ... I mean theres nothing you cant do ....."

"thanks bobby but I always got called a geek right through school and they were right you know"

"ok so im not a geek im still ugly !" Tara said with such conviction and sense a deep self loathing to her voice that it scared bobby , she really thought that she really thought she was ugly... her self esteem was that low why hadnt he or one of the others noticed.

"now thats a lie Tara and if you dont know it you should your beautiful your'e the most beautiful woman I know and following your advice Im telling you I like you Tara I have feelings for you that go way beyond friedship... I think Im in love with you and I'd love to explore that and be able to see where things go but Ive got baggage it wouldnt be right to inflict that on you ... otherwise I'd say stuff it you know I' like to disregard the rules."
he stroked her hair and cheek gently his eyes full of emotion.

"you .. really think that" Tara's voice so full of emotion ... " you think Im pretty ... "

"No ... I think your beautiful ... you wow me more than any other woman Ive met Darcy included and I thank God for creating such an amazing person as you to be my friend." he brushed a kiss over her hair.

"Tara ..." Bobby said gently as he lent back from her "we should discuss the rest of this note.

"yeah we should"

"right well the job is pretty insane but the team are all here for you , you should know that we will support you and do things as friends ... you know that... just ask and if we're getting to clique with the guys and Sue and Luce say something ok..." He smiled at her his eyes full of understanding

"how did you know about the cliquey thing...." she breathed

"I didnt exacly but I know what we guys can be like and Sue and Luce share a place so well you must feel a it pushed out especially as your not exactly a girly girl like Luce..."

"only cos I look awful in dresses I dont feel pretty in them and trosers and blouses mean I can hide and blend in be one of the guys not be noticed."

"I... um yeah well As for Stan and Adam .... they liked you alot both of them did and you liked them" Bobby said confusedly having caught himself before saying he noticed her.

"yeah I liked Stanley maybe even loved him but he cheated on me with some tall skinny blonde with a figure like a supermodel.... and well Adam yeah he only like me for my job I think I sounded exciting and different!" Tara said scatingly cynical and sad

"well Stanley was a drongo if he cheated on you luv and I dont think adam was like that but maybe I dont know ..... and anyway um what does the end of the note say...... " he looked down at it again and his voice stuttered "y..you have a crush on me... you think Im gorgeous"

Tara nodded unable to speak not sure what to say...

Bobby took the emotion and what he saw in her face and lent down and brushed his lips over hers..... before pulling away
"stuff the rules" he smiled before kissing her again

The kiss was intese all the emotions of the past few years days and ours flowing and mingling together as one. They paused and came up for air...,. Tara was the first to break the silence.

"um wow" she giggled "that was amazing"

Tara glanced at the clock

"um Bobby its one in the morning .... we have to be up at six to get ready and you have to take me in as the car is out of action.... ... what I'm trying to say is do you want to stay over ... the sofa has a pull out bed..."

"yes I would and a great idea yet again... you little star...."

"the stuff is in the bottom so um I'll set it up then leave you to it..."

"I can do it Tara luv go get some sleep or you wont be with it in the morning...."

"true and thanks" Tara said dashing to her room to escape his gaze.

"um excuse me where's my goodnight kiss " Bobby asked smilingly striding over and kissing her gently but then more deeply on the mouth.
"night beautiful" he smiled at her before releasing her from his arms.

"and if anyones switching units its me!" he added as she headed to bed happier than shed been but still tinged with sadness as the belief that she wasnt pretty was deepseated and no matter who told her or how often they told her it still didnt quite hit home ... she knew it but didnt feel it.

Poor Tara. Hopefully that opinion of herself will change over time.....if anyone can help her with that, it's Bobby.

Woohoo, they are certainly making headway! Tara, habits are hard to break, and feeling bad about yourself is one of them. Bobby is going to help you change that habit. It might not happen overnight, but it's coming!

I can understand how Tara feels...Bobby just has to keep telling her and reassuring her of his love

4 am at Tara's

Bobby rolled over as he started to wake up and began to work out where he was and what had come to pass several hours before.
What he couldnt work out however was what had woken him up.

He didnt wake up for no reason , he was a light sleeper but something must have triggered it.

He listened carefully.

Then he heard it.

A muffled noise coming from Tara's room.

What was it his sleep fogged brain struggled to recognise the noise.

Then suddenly his brain clicked into place and started to work.... It was suppressed sobbing.

Tara .. his Tara, for thats what he had wanted to think of her as since ...well a long time and now could, was crying... why had stuff he'd told her been to much did she not want to date a gambler , or was she missing nonna or what.... he had to go and fix it .

He rolled out from under the covers and padded in his boxers and t shirt towards Tara's bedroom door and tapped lightly on it.

"Tara ... its Bobby are you ok ... do you need to talk or anything."

A mumble through her tears that to bobby sounded like come in was heard
as he did he saw a mound in the middle of the bed which was at first appearances the bedding but then bobby realised Tara was curled under it in a tight little ball.

He perched on the edge of the bed and rested a hand there to let her feel his presence like you would with a small child having a nightmare.

"whats wrong darlin ... come on come out and tell me about it."

"no Im fine leave me alone" Tara insisted defensively

"you're not ok Darlin I could hear you crying.... you gonna tell me why?" he asked gently

A head slowly appeared from the blankets and Tara's tearstained pained face appeared as she pulled into a sitting position buried in the blanket looking intently at Bobbys Tshirt ... unable to look him in the face.

"you're not gonna let me get away with saying no are you" she muttered

"uh uh you need to tell me sweetheart... or tell someone and I think Luce may kill me if I call her at 4 am even for you." he smiled gently

"Im just having a bad night I get like this every now and then ...... " she said still refusing to look up Bobby wanted her to but knew he couldnt push it "... I have all theses problems with how I look and self estem and stuff and I have problem sleeping sometimes ... my brain wont switch off and then I start thinking aout how rubbish I am and how ugly and worthless I am and how noone loves me and Im only good for being someone to talk about or whatever Im not loved for being Tara ... but for being Frans daughter , Nonna's grandaughter, or Agent williams none of those is Tara"

" how often is every now and then Tara " bobby said tilting her face up towards him to look him in the face "and I want the truth"

"I dont know once maybe twice a fortnight" she said

"That often ... oh sweertheart come here " Bobby pulled her blankets and all onto his lap and cradled her like a child.

"you are beautiful Talented and amazing and ok I dont always see the real Tara but if the real you is Disney, fluffy pens giggles and a heck of a lot of determination as well as skill then I love Tara but I also love Agent williams and her commitment to the job and I love Nonna's granddughter who cares about tradition and memorys and her family."
he said smiled at her and kissed her forehead
"and I want you to remember that!"

Just read through this lovely story - poor Tara! At least she has Bobby to cuddle her and hopefully give her the self confidence she needs.

"thanks Bobby I know you mean it as well people have said they care in te past and betrayed me ... it makes it really hard to trust people again especially with my heart or even my thoughts but I can with you... you make me feel safe"

"good I should hope so .... now are you going to get some sleep now or am I going to need to give you a heck of a lot of coffee tomorrow... actually is that why your so hyper every week ..." he said as the truth began to dawn on him as indeed the day began to dawn outside

"yup way to little sleeep and lots of sugary coffee which I dont even like" Tara sighed .. . "and you can but I doubt I'll sleep my mind will go into overdrive and I'll get into a state again no matter what you've said my mind wont let me believe it without you here or without it being said enough for m brain to think it for a bit"

"Well you need some sleep Ive had some lay down I'll stay in the chair till you fall asleep" Bobby smiled stroking her hair

"No.. I mean yes but the beds wide enough... just hold me Bobby thats all I dont want anything else but comfort me keep me safe ... please" she implored her eyes ful of tears

"shhh darlin no more tears of course I will and we will definitly be seeing Garret first thing tomorrow"

"yeah.... we will" Tara snuggled closer and they lay there in silence for a while before Bobby heard Tara's breath even out and her body relax and he knew she was asleep and he too fell asleep leaving the problems till later and Garret.
