This FORUM is geared around being interactive. Our writers strive to perfect and practice, play and experiment. Please encourage them by posting your comments. If you enjoy a piece... tell them... specifics are wonderful. Constructive feedback is welcomed, but we ask that it be shared privately. You will be rewarded as they grow and write more...
The Code of Conduct, detailed in the Welcome thread, contains our general guidelines for conduct. . . please adhere and have fun!
PLAGIARISM Copying or plagiarism in any form of another writer's work or stories will be handled with zero tolerance. Copying or plagiarism is defined by the Merriam Webster Dictionary as "a) to steal and pass off (the ideas or words of another) as one's own. b ) to use (another's production) without crediting the source c) to commit literary theft d) to present as new and original an idea or product derived from an existing source." Copying or plagiarism is grounds for immediate suspension of all rights and removal of any of the violating member's material without notification.
OFFENSIVE LANGUAGE In our continued efforts to keep this site a positive and uplifting place for our members to spend time and share in the fun, our moderation team has the authority to edit or remove posts containing language that violates the spirit of our Code of Honor or the spirit/tenets of the show around which the site was initially formed, Sue Thomas F.B.Eye.
Our site software will automatically filter certain words which will never be allowed here, but in the interest of allowing our writers a bit of freedom certain words will be allowed within their proper context in their stories. However, they are not acceptable in comments and feedback, and will be edited when they are seen.
(A humorous example: "bat out of heck" just doesn't have the same punch as "bat out of hell". Should a writer need to use the word, fine. However, there is no need for it to be used in reader feedback, and it will be changed or deleted by the moderators at their discretion.)
What we're striving for is a pleasant experience for the writers as well as the readers, and it takes away from the enjoyment of a good story when the comments cause offense. That is something we know all can appreciate.
If you have any questions about these issues, please feel free to PM one of the Admins or Mods. As always, we appreciate everyone's cooperation with our efforts to make this a friendly place for all!!
