Oh, I'm sorry to have to say this, Cath; but, what a horrible post to wake up to. Between Kav's last two posts, which I read just before going to bed last night, and now this first post upon waking this morning, I'm not only scared to death 
but terribly sad. 
Jack is just too happy about getting back with Allie! And you expect me to go merrily about my business cleaning house, 
while I work? Oh, I just want to go back to bed, hide under the covers, curl up in a ball and cry.... 
b/c I just can't stand idly by and watch while Jack gets him and Sue 
into a situation where they can't extricate themselves.
Okay, so I can't go back to bed and give in to these feelings...then I'm just going to have to throw a
cause, since this is a flashback, I don't see an end to this nonsense anytime soon! Guess I'm just gonna have to go find me another story to get my Jack and Sue fix for awhile, until Jack comes to his senses. ***** Muttering as she goes dejectedly shuffling off to wash those dishes piled up in the sink...gee whiz, first we have Bobby leaving someone at the alter and now Jack...next thing you know, it will be Myles leaving Lucy at the alter***** 
Cath, you really know how to squeeze emotion out of your angsty words; but, could you pretty please write very fast and get us past this part. Else, I'm just going to have to go read the ending of this story and be done with it and that is something I never do when reading a book!!!!!

Chapter 6
The next few weeks passed in a blur of work, late night phone calls and emails and weekends spent in New York or DC as their friendship blossomed in to something more.
Taking the plunge one Saturday Jack bought an engagement ring before heading to New York. As Sue and David had grown closer so had he and Allie. His dreams were no longer filled with Sue but with Allie just as they had been through school and college.
Choosing a secluded table at the restaurant he nervously pulled out the box before taking her hand, ‘Allie, I know we’ve only been dating for a while but we have known each other for many, many years……. our friendship has always been precious to me but over the last few months I’ve fallen in love with you, I want a future with you, with children, house with white picket fences, All the things that we had when we were growing up……. I love you Allie, will you marry me?’
Tears trickled down her cheeks as she gazed at the ring he had chosen, it wasn’t as flash as the one she would have picked but it was elegant and would look good on her finger.
She wasn’t sure about ‘all the things we had when we were growing up’ Jack’s mom hadn’t returned to work until he was 13 and she had no intention of giving up work to look after their children.
‘You mean it?’ she whispered as his deep brown eyes shone with love and devotion.
Jack nodded quietly as he waited for what felt like eternity before Allie nodded her head and whispered one simple word, ‘yes’.
Swallowing hard Jack slipped the ring on her finger before kissing her tenderly, his whole being overwhelmed with emotions.
Snuggling as close as possible they shared dessert before heading to her apartment.
Holding her on his lap Jack grinned as Allie told her parents about the engagement, swearing them to secrecy so she could share the news with he4r friends later.
After a brief conversation with her parents Jack rang his parents, holding the phone away from his ear as they shouted their congratulations down the line before inviting them up the following weekend.
Checking his watch Jack rang the minister at the church they’d attended somewhat sporadically during their youth, setting a date for three months and agreeing to meet up when they next went home.
Returning to DC late Sunday evening they had planned the wedding and Jack had given significant thought to the honeymoon.
Bouncing out of bed Monday morning Jack couldn’t stop the broad grin on his face as he considered his future with Allie.

Jack may be grinning, but I'm The little ray of hope I see in that post is that Allie is already scheming. Hopefully jack will realize they don't have the same values and desires before it's too late and by then will Sue and David be engaged too?

Anyone who starts off an engagement thinking about the size of the ring doesn't deserve the man who gave it to her! And then to discount staying at home to raise their children before she is even in that position so she can make an informed decision; well, that does it!
Not that I'm against women workng after they have children; it's just that, she doesn't know how hard it is to leave that little baby with someone else after a pregnancy leave! ****as Frwdgranny walks out the door - The nerve of her to already have her mind made up. She is too shallow for Jack; she will never think of Jack first before herself.****
You had better voice those opinions to Jack, Allie, so we can get on with it; I want to get on to the Jack-and-Sue-realization-that-they-have-made-a-mistake-and-tell-each-other-their-feelings phase!
Speaking of Sue, are we ever going to be privy to Sue's opinions about David and why she has decided to give him another chance? I really would like to read her side. I know-I know I'm a glutton for punishment; but, I really, really, really would like to read it in Sue's own words.

‘Someone looks pleased with himself’ Bobby commented as Jack skipped in carrying coffee and donuts.
‘Hi Jack, good weekend?’ Sue asked as she snaffled 2 donuts and a coffee.
‘Yeah……. I’m getting married……….. to Allie’ he mumbled, just in case anyone wasn’t quite sure.
‘Yeah?’ Bobby asked, ‘congratulations, mate,’ he extended his arm to shake Jack’s hand before pulling him in for a bear hug.
‘Congratulations’ Myles echoed, glancing at Sue who seemed strangely quiet.
‘Yeah, great news Jack’ she left the donuts on the desk and hugged him warmly, ‘I hope we’re getting an invitation……..’
Jack nodded quietly, a little embarrassed to be at the centre of attention.
‘Crash, I’d like you to be my Best Man…… the wedding will be at home….. in Wisconsin, in a little under three months…….’
‘Sure, can’t tell you how pleased I’ll be to stand there and watch you pledge your undying love then do the chicken dance’ Bobby nodded, grinning broadly as he thought about the speech and the bachelor party.
‘Very quick’ Myles noted.
‘We’ve known each other since third grade, didn’t see any point waiting’ Jack explained as they nodded in agreement before congratulating him again and turning to D for an update on the latest case.
‘So when’s Allie moving to DC?’ D asked as the men shared lunch together.
‘We didn’t talk about it, she’s coming down next weekend so we can discuss it then, hopefully she’ll find something soon and we can look for a house’ he murmured.
‘So she’s Ok about you staying with the bureau?’ Myles asked.
‘Yeah, why wouldn’t she? Allie knows how much I love my job…….. I’ve told her often enough I’d go nuts as a lawyer’ he mumbled.
‘Well I know how Donna feels some days when I head to work, I know some days she wishes I wasn’t an agent………’
‘So, any plans for a bachelor party?’ Bobby asked suddenly, his thoughts going in all directions.
Jack shook his head, ‘I’ll leave that up to you Crash, maybe the weekend before the wedding, in DC………. nothing too outrageous……’
‘Would I?’ Bobby asked indignantly, clutching his heart as the other guys chuckled.

I think you are right Ivory! And then, the reservations, nagging feeling in the stomach, maybe even heart palpitations, will begin to set in and start to eat at him. I can't wait for them to begin. That will be his punishment for going down this road in the first place! (Oh, I can't believe I said that about my Jack! I take it back!) Cath, I went back and reread the first post and Allie told her friends she is getting married in two months. Jack says three months in this post. So, we're still in the flashback, right? And have to wait another month before she says anything to Jack about quiting the FBI and moving to NY? Oh, that is a long time to wait! But, they are supposed to discuss it this weekend! I can't wait to see how you have Alllie dance hoops around that conversation!

Sue doesn't sound as happy as the others think she is. I mean, it's disappointing when the man you love says he's going to marry another woman. I know i'm going to regret saying this, but I hope something happens to them so that they're stuck together for a few hours... or an entire night where all they can do is talk. They don't seem to talk as much as they used to. Even when Sue first dated David, they still got the time to talk.
And during that talk, they can talk about their FEELINGS!!! She needs to tell him that she doesn't want him to marry Allie.
OF course, I think Allie's big mouth might be able to help that along. She thinks Jack is going to leave the Bureau? Puh-lease!

‘That was a bit of a shock’ Luce commented as she sat with Tara and Sue in the park while Levi chased the ball Sue threw for him repeatedly.
‘Not really’ Sue murmured, ‘they have known each other for a long time, they were obviously very fond of each other when he had his attack…….’
‘I know but I never had them picked to marry each other…….. what do you think Sue?’
She shrugged casually, ‘if it’s what he wants I’m happy for him, he deserves to be happy, just like you guys………’
‘Are things not good with you David? You didn’t say happy like us?’ Tara asked.
‘No, they’re good’ she nodded, ‘but enough of me, how are things going with you two?’
Skilfully diverting the conversation away from her love life Sue watched as her friends talked excitedly about their men, hiding the regret she carried that she had hidden the truth about her feelings from Jack not only from him but from herself too.

As Dolly Parton urged Hannah Montana in "Good Golly Miss Dolly" earlier today (when watching the rerun with my grandkids, Jennifer and William) something to the effect of: go tell him how you feel; after all, if you want something bad enough you have to take a risk; else, you'll never know if you could have had it! So, the ball is in your court, Sue. Let's go hit a home run. 
Besides, just think what a loop that would throw Jack into if you professed your love for him!

Oh what a quagmire. Jack turned to Allie when he felt Sue was happy and wanted a relationship with David. She in turn thinks he wants to be with Allie. Argg.

Maria, Scott Lundeen was Sue's first admirer (other than Jack, even before David) in Greed (episode 9, season 1 right after Silent Night), a take off on the Enron bust; but, more importantly, the big football game between the FBI and the DEA. Scott worked for the DEA and thought he could get Sue to reveal the FBI's plays so they could capture the coveted Myrtle's Girdle trophy away from our team! I loved that episode.

Now, Cath, I think you need to hurry up and fix this. You do know I'm leaving on Sunday, and may not be able to access the internet at the church where we'll be camping out for a week. Chapter 9
Two weeks after Allie had broken the news to her friends.
Sitting in the surveillance van with Tara Sue watched, her heart in her mouth as the guys prepared to enter the ramshackle old warehouse. Intelligence and surveillance had led them to this place, to take down a drugs gang.
The past few weeks had been a mix of emotions for Sue as she’d watched Jack talk excitedly about the forthcoming wedding. Her relationship with David had taken an on-off course, tied up as he was with developing the business, interviewing and employing additional staff and seeking out more contracts.
Unlike Jack he had never shown an interest in attending deaf events or Little Bookworm and she’d had serious doubts about their future together.
However, she had bumped in to Scott a couple of days earlier and he’d invited her out to dinner. She’d refused since her heart was in turmoil but watching Jack talk about the forthcoming marriage had left her wondering if perhaps she should at least go to dinner with him.
She had kept her doubts to herself, skilfully diverting questions from her friends by asking about their relationships. It had been easy to hide the truth from Lucy who was out till all hours with Kevin, eager to talk about their latest date the following day.
Staring at the bank of screens in the van Sue caught her breath as she glanced at Jack suited up for the takedown, despite the number of agents milling around she always knew which one was him. Her heart stopped briefly as she remembered the time he’d followed Danny’s instructions and almost been blown up. Once again it had led to a missed opportunity to declare her feelings and now it was too late. Soon he would be happily married to Allie and she would be the only one not in a good relationship.
Feeling a hand on her shoulder she looked over at Tara who wore a look of concern on her face, ‘OK YOU?’ she signed unconvinced as Sue nodded.
‘They’re ready to go, Jack’s just giving final orders……..’
Sue nodded again, her focus on the screens as the agents entered the warehouse.
Watching from the cameras fixed to the helmets the women held their breaths as bullets flew and gunfire ricocheted around.
After what felt like an eternity the gang members were arrested and brought out.
Releasing her breath Sue looked for Jack, shouting at Tara as he limped out before collapsing on the ground screwing his face in agony.
‘Jack’s hurt’ she shouted before diving out of the van and running towards him.
