So here I go...

Chapter 1
Year 2008
It’s been 3 years since Sue decided to stay in DC. It’s been 3 more years of nothing more but friendship between Sue and Jack.

“Listen up, people,” D came in to the bullpen. Everyone turned their heads on him. During these 3 years they had almost 5 supervisors and the management still didn’t understand D is perfect for them.
“You do bring anything with you?” Sue asked him.
“Yeah, some news. Let’s start with…on Monday we’ll get a new…”
“Supervisor. C’mon D, that’s not news,” Bobby cut him off.
“…agent. I finally got the supervisor job,” D finished.
“That’s awesome. Congratulations.” Sue signed.
Thank you.”
“It was just matter of time mate,” Bobby told him.
“So, boss, what’s the first thing you want me to do?” Lucy stepped in front of him with expression of faithful soldier.
“About that other news…you came to tell us about the FBI anniversary party?”
“Tara!!! I’m sure D wanted to tell us himself…” Jack joined.
“This is pointless. You guess everything before it’s even said.” D gave up.
“That’s what makes us the team in the building,” Bobby grinned proudly.
“You know I’ve heard 4th floor wants to take the lead,” Sue joked.
Myles, who was quiet until this, stood up. “No one and nothing can beat Myles Leland the Third.” He said with pride and the look he had on the video for charity.
“Yeah, we forgot about our secret weapon,” Lucy added, “sorry Myles.”
By this time they were laughing to the death.
“Enough guys,” D cooled them, “So our new coworker’s James Dylan. About the party: Coming is required and with date. He was about to leave when Bobby stopped him: “Is Donna free? And when’s that party?”
D looked like he wants to kill him by the look and added: “21st September in Plaza.” He also signed it for Sue and left.
They didn’t feel like joking this time so everyone returned to their work.

yay.gif Another challenge story! A party on the 21st! D finally is their supervisor. A new agent. Hmmm, I wonder if he is married? Will he give Jack a run for his money with Sue? Or Bobby with Tara? Or Myles with Lucy? Or...well you get my drift! Can't wait for the mischief, angst and swooning which I'm sure you will take us thru between now and then!!!! Flowers.gif

Chapter 2
“Tara, Sue,” Lucy started, “I don’t know about you, but I’m going to need new dress for this party.”
“Shopping spree? When?” Tara was curious.
“Party’s in a month. This can wait.” Sue said.
“No, Sue. This can’t wait. We’ll need to find a hairdresser and you need dress before you can buy shoes…” Lucy started to list all things they will need.
“Shoes…” Sue moaned. “This weekend I go to see my brother, but next Saturday I’m free.”
“Deal. I’ll come to your place around 10, if you don’t mind.” Tara said.
“That’s great.” Lucy accepted.
As girls were planning their shopping spree, guys, well, Jack and Bobby realized they have no idea what to wear. So they turned to Myles, who seems, had some experiences with this kind of parties.
“Tuxedo is too formal, for this party I would and I will wear suit, not with tie though, but with bow.” He stood up as he started the speech.
“You sound like an expert Myles…” Lucy turned to him, ready to teas him, but he cut her off.
“It’s all those events my parents, well, my mother organized I had to attend.”
“Had to or wanted to?” Sue teased him. Myles, acting touches, sat back. As there was silence, everyone thought about the same. No case, just no new case. Yeah, paperwork was boring them to death and even Randy was out of town on some conference called ‘Become a better FBI officer’ so they had no one to make jokes on. And it was Thursday. That meant no case until Monday, so they wouldn’t be forced to stay in Bureau during weekend and cancel all their plans. For Sue it was visiting her brother in Baltimore. For Jack having pizza unfrozen in microwave oven and watching basketball. For Bobby having pizza from Friday and watching the basketball. For Myles nagging in his garden and fighting with a neighbour. Tara’s plan was improving her firewall and for Lucy it was trying to figure out how to get Sue and together. And at least, they wanted new case with new coworker of theirs.

Chapter 3 part I
“Sue1 You finally found a time for you older brother?!”
“Yeah, Rob. You live damn too far from DC.”
“Come in.” Robert said and closed the door behind Sue and Levi.
“Hi, Levi. Long time no see.” He scratched Levi behind the ears.
“Want some coffee?”
“Tea’s better.”
Robert left to kitchen to make them tea. Meanwhile Sue looked around her brother’s apartment. It was big enough for 3 persons. All rooms were painted by light yellow, but every room had something unique.
“You live with anyone?” she asked him when he brought the tea into living room.
“Not yet. I and Marine want to move in together.”
“In here?”
“In here.”
“You’re older than me and if mum goes on with her ‘But I’d like to see my grandchildren in my life’, she must do it to you too.” Sue said after a while fulfilled with awkward silence.
“Yeah, it’s horrible. Every time I call her she asks me if I and Marine got engaged and when I say no she asks me why do I even call. But imagine what Michael goes thru’.”
“He’s married at least.”
“He can be. You heard what Dana said last time they’ve been home?”
“What?” Sue was curious. She didn’t like her sister in law though.
“That she doesn’t want children.” Robert replied.
“I can see mum’s face.”
“Me either.”
“Look, Rob, I know we don’t get along very well, but it’s always better than my relationship with Michael after he got married. I need an advice from you.”
“You’re not in trouble, are you?”
“No, I’m not.”
“So what is it then?”
“I wanna quit.”
“Quit with what?”
“With the FBI.”

Chapter 3 part II

“What do mean you want to quit?” Robert was startled. His sister loved this job and her colleagues. She always said how great they are. And now she wants to quit with it all?
“I just don’t feel like doing this job any longer. I don’t know I don’t want to wake up one day and realize I’m too old to have family and that I have none because of this work with the FBI.”
“But you were seeing that David weren’t you?”
“It was 3 years ago, Rob. And we broke up just because of my work. We barely saw each other. For all those 6 years I work there I haven’t dated anyone except David.” ‘Not that I wanted to’ Sue thought.
“Not that you wanted to…” Robert smirked.
“You read my mind or what?”
“Sue, if you want to quit with the job you love just because of family, you should think of it once again. It was you who said that you don’t date anyone…”
“Yeah but…” Sue started.
“…you would if you left?” he finished for her. And Sue realized something in the moment. She wanted to leave the FBI so she would be able to be with Jack, but she didn’t know if he feels the same way.
“Maybe…”
“See? It will be OK. If you and that guy you wanted to leave because of belong together, you’ll find a way how to be together.” Robert striking hugged Sue for the first time since he left home almost 15 years ago.
“You think so?”
Yes. I think so.” He signed. When she calmed down a little she went straight to bed. On Sunday he showed her Baltimore and after a lot of convincing his favorite places. She left about 5 pm, so she could think of that decision once again.
“Hope next time you’ll come around.” Sue said when they were parting.
“I hope so too. Bye Sue.”
“Bye Rob.”

Chapter 4
On Monday morning was theme #1 Sue’s visit in her brother’s and weekend’s basketball match. They talked about that match mostly, because Sue really didn’t want to bother them with the decision she had to do. Even so, she decided to wait and decide after the party. When D entered the bullpen everyone stopped talking.
“Morning guys,” D greeted them all.
“Morning boos,” they couldn’t help but teased him.
“Slow down, slow down…This,” he pointed on a man who stood beside him, “is our new colleague James Dylan. Fine, I go, new case just showed up, I’ll try to get him for us…” D said as he left the team and James on their own.
“So…I’m Jack Hudson. Nice to meet you.” They shaked hands.
“Bobby Manning.” Another shake.
“Myles Leland…the Third.” Another one.
“Tara Williams, an IT expert.” Tara said proudly as they shaked hands.
“Lucy Dotson, nice to meet you.”
“Nice to meet YOU, Lucy.” They smiled and shaked hands.
Jack, Bobby, Myles, Sue and Tara looked at each other. They saw there were sparkles around Lucy and James. Lucy and James kept looking, no, staring into each other’s eyes. Only Myles looked little confused. He didn’t know what Lucy saw on that James. He was black and he has his own charm and charisma. The awkward silence broke Sue.
“I’m Sue Thomas. Welcome in DC.”
“Thanks. Nice to meet you all.”
James Dylan was like every FBI agent. He was tall had muscular body (at least his chest looked muscular), dark curly hairs and deep brown eyes. If Lucy liked Myles, she’d have to fall in love with James.
“So, James, tell us something about you…” Tara started. Lucy and James still stared into each other.
“I…I…I…” he stuttered.
It was phone who interrupted them.
“Dead woman in Downtown guys.” Bobby said. Everyone took their coats and they drove off to the crime scene.

Chapter 5
“So, witnesses say that they’ve heard shot. We’ve also found shells all around the body. What does doc say?”
“She was shot from short distance. Death occurred immediately.” Jack said.
“James, how was look on dead body? It’s not very pleasant for the first time.”
“Just one word-disgusting…”
“You’ll get used to it.” Myles said. He still didn’t starve James liked Lucy and this was obviously mutual. Suddenly Sue’s blackberry vibrated.
“Lucy says Howie called. He said he needs to see us. She told him to come.”
“OK. So we’re going back to office.”
In the car James asked: “Who’s Howie?”
“Sue’s snitch.” Jack said.

“Hey, Sue!”
“Hi Howie.”
Howie greeted them all his own way. “I’m James Dylan.” James introduced himself.
“Hey Jimmy, nice to meet ya.” James looked confused on Sue who just winked.
“What did you want to tell us Howie?” Jack asked.
“I’ve heard something about that dead in Downtown…”
“What?” Sue asked.
“That she’s not the only one…”
“What do you mean she’s not the only one?”
“That there are few more. How many times will I have to explain?!”
“You mean like serial killer?” James asked.
“Wow, serial killer…Can I help you?”
“Howie…” Jack started.
“Yeah, Yeah. I know…”

Chapter 6
“So what do you know Howie?”
“I’ve heard that there are 6 dead women in Downtown. Their bodies make some geometric thing.”
“Fine Howie thanks.”
“Bye guys.”
After Howie left everyone alarmed their snitches. Nothing. They tried DCPD. DCPD said they’d call them if there were some serial killer. They called other agencies. Nothing. It became like their daily routine for this week. Snitches, DCPD, other agencies. It was already Friday and they knew nothing new only that she died immediately and that in the crime scene were no interesting fingerprints.
“Did you think about that date item?” Lucy asked when they had nothing to do.
“Why?” James asked.
“You haven’t heard it?”
“Heard what?”
“FBI anniversary party.”
“What?”
“FBI celebrates 100 years. So there’s big party planned.”
“Oh, this. Yeah, I’ve heard that. I go there with my girlfriend.”
“Girlfriend mate? Seems like she makes you the only one who’s seeing someone…”
“Is it really that bad?” James wondered. He couldn’t understand how all these guys-all FBI agents-didn’t have any girlfriend. And girls-Tara was nice, but she was a geek; Sue has her own style and she was cute with that dog-why does she even have it-Levi’s its name isn’t it? But Lucy, she was…beautiful…and her smile, god, he couldn’t resist that smile. He looked at her. She smiled back. You’re beautiful…I wish I could go there with you, James thought.
“Myles, I really worry about you or you already asked FBI’s nurse to go with you?” Lucy teased him.
“For you information Luce, I asked one girl to go there with me…”
“Is she blind?” She cut him off.
“Her name is Anne…and she is impressed by me.”
“That’s everyone who meets you for the first time. But your sister can’t be counted.”

Chapter 7
“You know girls; I have no idea what I want to wear there.” Tara said as they were leaving Lucy’s and Sue’s apartment.
“Me neither.” Sue added.
“Well, I’ve been thinking of it for all this week and I’ve also looked around stores and I have found the perfect dress.”
“I’m really interesting Lucy…” Tara said as Lucy was leading them to one shop with party dress.
“Tah-dah…”Luce said as she turned around when she finally appeared in front of the changing room.
“Lucy?!”
“Yeah?”
“Do you want to get James?”
“Why? We’re only coworkers, friends, nothing more. And he has a girl. He said it yesterday.”
“Yeah, Jack had one too when Sue met him for the first time. Now he wasn’t on a real date for almost 6 years.” Tara said.
“Tara?!?!?!” Sue and Lucy said in once.
“Look, it’s just, he already has eyes only for you and after you’ll appear in this on the party, I think he’ll be able to break up with that girlfriend of his.”
“You know what Tara?” Sue started, “I know Lucy plays matchmaker way too much, but I’d never think that you, Tara Williams, the best IT expert I know, have those matchmaker genes.”
“Fine girls. Lucy let’s buy this dress and find some nice for me and Sue, OK?” Tara tried to end the conversation. Lucy smiled and signed back OK. In the second shop they visited Tara found perfect outfit for her. And then Sue. It was almost 5 pm, but they still didn’t have shoes. They were desperate. As they sat in a café, Sue noticed small shop with shoes: “Look, girls…”
“Where?”
“At eleven.”
“That shop is our last chance.” Tara said. They drank the coffee, paid and entered the shop.

Chapter 8
On Monday morning DCPD has called them that they found 3 dead bodies.
“That means Howie was right and our suspicion confirmed. Our dead women are: Tyra Jenkins, Hannah Danielson, Evelyn Murdoch and Jenni Grant.” Bobby said.
“Lucy did you find anything about them?” Jack asked.
“They have noting in common except they lived in Downtown and every Friday night all of them used to visit one bar called Dream’s.” Lucy established them.
“Great. James, Sue, take your stuff we go there.” Jack ordered.

“We’re closed…” man said when he appeared in the door.
“We hoped you’d find some time for us.” Jack said as he and James showed their badges.
“OK. Come in.”
“Have you seen any of these women here?” Sue asked as she showed him photos.
“Yeah, they used to be here every Friday night, but I didn’t know them very much. What happened?”
“They’re dead.”
“I’m sorry, but as I said I haven’t seen here anywhere only here.”
“Are you owner?”
“Yeah.”
“Who works here except here?”
“One group is here every nite. But they aren’t in touch with customers.”
”Yes, I got the point. Thank you. Call us if you remember anything.”
“Yes. Goodbye.”

Chapter 9
When they got back to the bullpen, James told the others what barman said.
“OK. Sue?” Levi alerted her.
“Yeah, Bobby?”
“Call Howie if he’s sure about those 6 women. DCPD said there are no other dead o missing persons from Downtown.”
“Yup.” Sue said and sat behind her desk.
“Howie, hi. It’s me Sue…I just wanted to ask you if you really are sure that there are 6 women…No, no, I don’t say I don’t believe you, we want to be sure…I can’t tell you, you know…OK. Thanks Howie, bye.” She turned down the conversation and on Bobby’s asking face she signed No, he’s sure about those 6.
“That’s what I was afraid of.” Jack said. James looked and obviously was confused. Since he still didn’t know Sue was deaf, she had no idea why she called Howie the way she called him and what she signed. Shortly, he had no idea what was going on.
“What were you afraid of? And what did you just showed? And…and..why didn’t you use telephone?” He almost didn’t know what to ask first.
“I’m deaf.” Sue said slowly.
“Nice joke.” James said and turned away.
What?” Sue asked Lucy because she didn’t see James’ lips. Lucy signed back: “He says nice joke.
For Jack, Bobby and Myles it was enough. Think that Sue is kidding about her deafness was cruel and mindless.
“James, look, we know we joke very often and that sometimes people are subjects of our jokes, but it’s the way we make our work easier.” Jack started.
“But we never made jokes about other’s handicaps. Sue is deaf, yeah, that’s true, but she’s also become a worth member of our team,” Bobby continued.
“So if you have problem with it and you won’t get used to it, one of you will be forced to leave and I guarantee you that it will not be Sue.” Myles finished. Meanwhile Lucy translated Sue what guys were saying. When they finished Sue signed: Thanks guys, but I don’t think it was necessary. Jack replied her it was and tried to concentrate on the case. After a while he spoke: “Did you notice that our barman was multiple punished for rapes and health injuries?”
“None of those women were raped. Doc would say it.”
“They’ve been shot Jack.” Tara told him.
“Tara, just find out if he owns a gun.”

Chapter 10
“I’ve got something better.” Tara said after a while.
“What?”
“Not only that he has license for tommy gun and a iron, he’s also in our database as a man killer for Caravagio.”
“Maybe we could arrest him and try if he confesses.” James said trying to iron his previous mistake.
“Okay. Myles go with him.” Jack offered.

While Myles and James were trying to get the barman to confess, Jack and Bobby watched them in interrogation room.
“Who do you take on our party, Sparky?”
“I thought about asking Sue. But what about you, huh? Do you take Tara?”
“I haven’t got a chance to talk to her about it. This damn case defends me.”
“Nor have I. I’m actually afraid to ask her. What if she goes with David?”
“They broke up.”
“How do you know?”
“Lucy.”
“Well, then…”
“You need to take the opportunity.” Bobby cut him off.
“I know…I know.”

After hours of interrogation James and Myles came back to the bullpen.
“He said Caravagio hired him for the one last job. But he also said that he killed only the first one.” Myles informed them.
“I don’t know why but I think Caravagio is our killer.” Lucy said.
“Yeah, but we’ll still need to find those who pressed the trigger.” Jack sighed.
“The only thing I hope is we’ll close this case before the party. And we have only one week.”
Next day they agreed with this plan: Bobby will order James’ murder.

Chapter 11 part I
“Oh, hi Sue.” Jack greeted her in Tuesday evening when they met. He was jogging as usually. And Sue knew that. Mostly because of this she chose this way to walk Levi. She knew she’ll meet him here.
“Hi Jack. Evening and a man like you isn’t on a date?” She signed and spoke.
“Evening and woman like you isn’t on a date?” Jack teased her.
“You got me Hudson.”
“I know…You hungry?
You buy?
“Yes.”
“I’m starving…” Sue smiled.
“Let’s go then.”

“So do you have a date on FBI’s party?” Jack asked her.
“No.”
“And what about David?”
“We split up…And I don’t want to talk about it.” Sue ended conversation on this theme. Jack was celebrating inside. Bobby was true. For a while there was the awkward silence. Then Jack decided to break it and spoke up: “Do you have time on next Friday?”
“Next Friday…next Friday…I already have plans, why?”
“There’s FBI anniversary party and since I know noone to go with I was wondering if didn’t go with me…”
“I would, but as I said I have plans.” Sue decided to play the game with him. “Now I remember that I go on that party too.”
“So, will you be my date there?”
“It’s so cute when you please…I’ll go there with you.”
Thank you.” Jack signed.
“You have to be really desperate when you asked your coworker to be your date.” Sue teased him. Yeah, desperate about you, Sue, Jack thought.

Chapter 11 part II
In next morning Sue and Jack were conspiratorial looking at each other, Myles was very quiet, Tara and Bobby have gone somewhere and Lucy felt something was going on between Sue and Jack. But back to Tara and Bobby. Somehow they decided to have breakfast together.
“Tara,” Bobby spoke when they were in a park eating rolls they have bought in bakery.
“Yeah Bobby?”
“I’m asking you a very hard question, Tara, so please pay attention…”
“So ask.”
“Will you go with me…?”
“Yeah…I’ll go with you.” She cut him off.
“I didn’t even say where.” Bobby wondered.
“I wanted to ask you too, so…” Tara smiled little embarrassed.
“Really?” Their lips were so close…
“Really…” Tara said after they’ve shared kiss full of passion and desire. “We should…get back to the bullpen…”
“Maybe…maybe…we should.” Bobby said and kissed her once again. Tara smiled and Bobby could see sparkles in her eyes.
“So let’s go.”

They got back to the bullpen just in time. D appeared soon.
“I’m bringing you bad news guys…”
“What is it D?” Sue asked.
“Caravagio was found undercut tonight in his house. Fortunately for us, he’s was transferred to George Washington Hospital, I already managed with doctors that we can talk to him. Seems like you Bobby won’t get a chance to play your role…”
“And I was looking forward to being important person.” Bobby sighed.
“You don’t get much luck when you’re a homeless.” Myles teased him. James just came back from lab and wanted to ask how Myles meant that homeless, but no one cared to share. Now he knew he made a huge mistake. Funny talking, always looking at your lips when you talk, dog with red dog-lead that follows her everywhere; he could have figured it out. He felt like teenage outsider. Well, the truth was he didn’t care that much what they thought of him, but he hoped Lucy hasn’t conceived hatred for that on him. He really liked her and if there wasn’t that stupid dating policy, he’d break up with Tallie and start to date Lucy.
“Hey Lucy,” he greeted her with smile.
“Cool down, I’m not interested in idiots.” She almost killed him with the look.
