Ok I have a story in BC but I know where thats going so here goes with a nice challenge story hope this works.



Tara sat headphones in, speed typing her report eyes fixed on the screen as the keyboard clacked away.The rest of the team minus D who had his own office now his supervisor's position was permanent were also working away, typing reports filing or checking through emails, Levi Dozed under the desk the busyness of the bullpen bypassing him knowing Sue was safe here and the others could attract her attention without his help. He slept and dreamed of fields of bunnies.

The phone rang on Jack's desk disturbing the relative quiet of the bullpen.

"Hudson!... yes ...what...when.... ok I'll Inform and deal...which one.....ok I'll get there with a security detail in the next few hours she is in the office now we all are. Thanks for the heads up D." Jack placed the reciever back down and looked around at the faces staring at him including Sue who had noticed simply because she had been watching him.

"Whats up Jack... whats going on." Bobby asked concerned at the worried and concerned look on his friends face.
"Theres been a specific threat recieved against Tara we... we have information that a hit has been put on you ...... you are now in protective custody you are allowed no where without a shadow.... except the FBI building 1st floor up.... ASAP we are to take you to a sewcure hotel we have a suite there and SOG are around plus one or two of us as security detail."
"Umok ... dump it all on me at once um fine can I go home and pack some stuff collect books ... or what"
"we'd prefer not Lucy can go with whichever of us isnt on security and get things for you,"
"ok um whose doing security "
"on the principle its a few days or more you pick one of us three as your main and a second who is there as back up at certain times "
"ok welll Um Bobby as main ... Jack I know you and Sue have a date I cant make you miss that cos some nutter wants me dead..... and well I'll have you as second ..... no offence but out of you and Myles your the better shooter I'd prefer you watching my back.... protecting me"
"I'd prefer him to me anyway Tara so its fine." Myles smiled at her
"I guess its Myles taking me to yours then ... write me a list of stuff " Lucy smiled encouragingly at her friend before turning to talk to Sue.

A/N Tara is under protection because they have had some sort of intel there is a death threat A and reward for causing her death out there.

Tara was ensconced in the hotel within an hour sat drumming her fingers as Bobby stood talking to SOG outside the door.

She hated this.
She hated not being in Control.
Control was important and neccesary, but she was in danger and female so the guys toook over they smothered her and pushed wher out it was like the eighteenth century or something.
She was meant to obey... and now she was shut in a hotel suite with Bobby for well at leasty a week....

She couldnt deal with that... it was hard enough being round him at work but 24/7 for well two days ... two weeks......more.... no if it was more she would be sent to Alaska or Montana or Texas or somewhere else big with lots of empty spaces to hide her.....

but well

Bobby - for that long in close proximity she'd go bang or do something stupid like tell him how she felt or worse still both at the same time........

Myles would have frustrated her to the point of shooting him and Jack was in a new relationship with Sue they'd actually started officially dating now thanks to D getting the rule changed.....

"Earth to Tara" Bobby called pulling her out of her reverie as he plonked his large frame on the coffee table less than a foot away from her.
"yes ... Bobby sorry world of my own just thinking stuff through"

"Im sure Jack wouldnt have dumped it on you like that if he hadnt been scared and shocked himself.... but hey the best Law inforcement agency in the world are handling it you'll be fine.... anyway what I actually was saying was Jack and Sue will appear shortly witrh all your stuff and Lucy said she didnt know if you meant the book or the DVD so she packed both.... does that make any sense." he looked mildly confused

"yes it does thanks bobby I gave her a list wrote Pride and Prejudice on it but I have the book and the DVD of the English BBC adaptation...." she smiled
"so which did you want" he asked shifting to sit next to her
"The book... I need something to distract me and cheer me up... that always does the trick... that and chocolate but unlike chocolate Reading wont enlarge my waistline anymore than it already is thankfully"
"you neednt worry about the waistline you look great" Bobby said quietly
"Thanks......"
"no problem its true... by the way we are booked into the hotel as Mr and Mrs McIntyre ..... My birth surname harder to track us etc..... its complicated i know but we need to have a cover and keep you safe so if we are out of the room we are married"

"ok and I can think of worse covers... could be to Myles" she giggled an bobby laughed squeezing her hand gently

There was a light knock at the door and bobby stood and crossed the room... "hey jack Sue come on in" Bobby grinned seeing Jack laden down with rucksack a carrier bag of Books and DVD's and Sue empty handed.

"I offered to help he refused... " Sue said seeing Bobbys quizzical expression
"typical Jack well come in anyway... Tara they have your vbooks you can stop being bored now."
"Thank goodness Bobby your interesting no offence but I need to be doing things I cant deal with sitting still"
"I noticed..... Im going to have to teach you how to just sit talk... be"
"You... relax your worse than me for sitting still at least my doing things are peacefull sitting still things like reading watching tv..."
"you dont need to worry Tara its good to do things... now we will leave you to it Mr and Mrs Mcintyre " Sue teased
"Go on then... scat you have a date in a bit"

Jack and Sue left leaving Bobby and Tara alone.....
"I guess I'll go unpack....Is the single room bed long enough or shall I go there... I am nearly a foot shorter" she smiled
"It'll be fine you take the double bed and relax Tar..we have to talk later before we go for dinner so go rest and read for a bit or something" Bobby smiled knowing he was as tired as he could cope with the worry and stress that something could happen to her piling on top of him.

Tara lay on the large bed and took out the book that never failed to make her smile, Pride and Prejudice... If only she could find her Mr Darcy or Mr Bingly all the men in her life had been wickhams or Mr collin's type people ... why couldnt she have luck in love she new the characters were fictional but they seemed so real and she got so absorbed in there world she just wanted to have a taste of there happiness

Thanks guys as a big Pride and Prejudice fan myself I decided this was a good plan hope it works well anyway on with the story

A rap at the door around an hour on the bedroom door later failed to pull Tara back to reality her mind renmaining firmly in Reegency England and at Netherfield with Jane and Lizzy.

Bobby tapped again and on getting no response slipped his head round the door.
"Tara.... Sorry to interupt your reading " he apologised as her name being said recalled her to the present "..... you must have been absorbed I did knock... its that we neeed to go through our back story before we get ready for dinner"
"oh sure and dont worry I can get like that when Im reading I get a little focussed especially with this book ... its amazing!" she beamed placing it on the bed and straightening her clothes as she stood up and headed back to the lounge area with bobby.

"so we're Tara and Bobby McIntyre but how long hasve we been married where did we meert what are our jobs etc" Tara reeeled off
"I'd say we've kniown each other 5 years been married two we met through Friends from work who were dating your colleague Marie was dating my friend Sam we met at there engagement party. " Bobby smiled as Tara knew immediatley who Marie and Sam were and giggled.
"that works sweet and believable..... we started chatting went out on a double date and the rest is history right?" she smiled widely
" yup....... um Jobs.... I have no idea"
"you work for the Police as a bomb disposal expert and I'm a computer analyst and technician at a High School in Chicago .... where we live we are here visiting the friends thast got us together cos they have jsut had there first baby" Tarta said immediatley creating a backstory in her head.
"have Sam and Marie Had a boy or a girl"
"Baby girl called Hope who has her Daddys Brown eyes"
"of course... now thats sorted shall we get ready for dinner theres a restaurant downstairs Lucy packed you some dresses"

Yes, their backstory is a good one, but so much there to remember, in addition to all the little clues you'll be giving us in each post. I hope I can recall it all....I will remember the baby girl, Hope, with her daddy's brown eyes!

A while later Tara stepped out pf her room into the lounge area where Bobby was sat in trousers and shirt but without his tie and the sleeves of his black shirt rolled to his elbows. He was reading a book although Tara couldnt see what shewas wearing a blue cap sleeve dress with a square neckline that was fitted but flared out at the hips and ended just below her knees the colour fading from Dark blue to light blue at the waist then deepening in colour to an explosion of deep blue at the hem.

"Do I look ok Bobby?" she asked nervously and he looked up from his book and his mouth fell open before he shut it quickly
"you look great Tara you scrub up well" he smiled forcing himself to treat her like one of the guys,
blocking any possible emotions...
They were just friends
nothing more nothing less
and anyway they were colleagues it would work for Jack and Sue but not for them and anyway with his past....

~"you look great too... um shall we go eat Im kinda hungry"
"of course come on then Mrs McIntyre" He smiled offering her his arm as they stepped into they're undercovers and out of the room

They are sooo meant to be together!

I was thinking the same thing Therca...Sam and Marie do sound suspiciously like Jack and Sue.

They were seated at a table in a quiet corner of the restaurant and looked at their menus.
Bobby sneaked glances at Tara over his menu and she was watching him through her eyelashes neither realised the other was watching them and they somehow managed to choose meals before the waitress arrived.

"Hello what would you like to eat this evening." the waitress smiled at the couple
"could I have the soup to start and the chicken breast for my main please" Tara smiled gently as the waitress took down the order before smiling questioningly at Bobby
"Can I have th soup followed by a rare sirloin please" he smiled gently at her before turning and smiling brightly at Tara and squeezing her hand reinforcing there relationship to the waitress and anyone watching
"and what would you like to drink"
"Um I'll have a glass of wine .... are you going to join me or not sweetheart" Bobby asked smiling full force at Tara

"I better not ...not a good idea I dont think " she looked down shyly and demurely
"ok then we have sparkling apple or sparkling elderflower or normal soft drinks"
"oh ok um sparkling elderflower thankyou"
"They'll be with you shortly what wine was it?"
"The Austrlian Rose please"

The waitress left them and Bobby beamed at Tara again
"good food choice and why no wine?"
"Im tired if I have alchohol I'll get a migraine... Im sensitive to it anyway"
"ah fair enough... "
"she was jealous of me you know" Tara smiled
"Why?"
"Thinking.... because we are together darling thats way... she wishes she had you but your mine" Tara smiled as the waitress came over with there drinks
"Thanks very much"

Bobby, there is no reason why it wouldn't work for you and Tara too!!!

Tara, I believe you are thinking of things women have thought of for years -- finding that perfect fictional character in the flesh. I can imagine that the weight of keeping her safe will be hard on Bobby.

They ate their meal quietly and happily trying to lose some of the tension of the day as they joked together between courses.They finished their meal and stood to leave bobby pulling Tara int his side with an arm around her shoulders.

"you want to head to the nar for a while or up and get some rest sweetheart" he asked her. She smiled up at him and rolled her eyes at his attempt to be like a married couple.
"Im still really tired.... so could we go get some rest.... visiting Sam , Marie and baby Hope tomorrow will be tiring. "
"True lets go get some sleep then" Bobby smiled pressing as kiss to her hair as they headed for the lift and back to their suite.

"You make a good husband" she smiled at him as they shut the door behind them
"Thank you and Im sure all the guys in the room were jealous that I had such a beautiful wife." he smiled at her and she blushed violently
"Seriously you looked great tonight now go get some sleep I'll talk to you later"
"night then "
"night sweet dreams" he smiled as she headed to her room and shut the door.

She hadn't looked beautiful , she had looked perfect. She hadnt just made the other guys jealous he was jealous of the men who had dated her for real and to be honest he wished they were together but there was to much stuff in the way .... His past would be a big stumbling block then there was work ... I mean they could technically date but if it didnt work out it would make it hard not to mention that she sue Luvy and well the entire team would hurt him if he ever hurt her not that he would deliberatly but he wasnt good with this romance stuff and he'd obviously done something wrong for Darcy to leave......

His brain churned before he decided to try and sleep too. Emphasis would be on try he thought

Bobby, you have to speak to her, in my country the people said: 'Hablando se entiende la gente' (in Spanish is like that: To understand the people, and to people understand you, you should speak with them(her, him...))

So, Talk with her!

By the way, very interesting story! (I'm fan of Lizzy and Fitzwilliam Darcy)

Bobby finally dirfted off to sleep around 2am not good when he needed plenty of sleep to ensure he would be alert and could protect Tara annd keep her safe.

His calm sleep and Dreams of the one he loved were disrupted by her screaming at around 5 am.

He woke immediately and ran to her room gun in hand clothed in his underwear fearing something was wrong but found her sleeping but tossing violently and groaning and crying in her sleep.

ok so everything wasnt ok but it wasnt wrong either she was having a nightmare.
He put his gun on the side table and sat on the bed next toher shaking her aswake and pulling her onto his lap into his arms to provide comfort

Poor Tara!!!

10-15 Post #29 - Hmmm, Tara picked up on the waitress being jealous of her? Or was she just saying that to let Bobby know there was someone interested in him? In case he wanted to pursue the waitress after the case was over? So like Tara to throw Bobby at another girl b/c she doesn't think he could go for her! Tara, you have to get over that!

Tara shuddered as she woke confused shaking from her dream but feeling warm and safe.She didnt know why or where she was but she was being held aqnd it felt safe like when her dad had hugged her nightmares away as a child.

"Its ok Tara" she heard the voice say recognising it as bobbys she blinked up and looked into his eyes.
"hi sorry um whats going on"
"you were screaming you were having a nightmare i guess"
"yeah I was sorry if I scared you .... It was a bad one .... its being in protection again thats all reminded me of crazy loco except this time well the glass wasnt protective and it wasnt myles......"
"well it was just a dream and I will keep you safe its ok "

Hmmm. And I have one guess who it was. That would be a nightmare for sure.

That start of a very very bad thing...Darcy is coming isn't she.

As she calmed more she suddenly realised that she was in her PJ's and bobby was only in his boxers.
"uh uh " she babbled slipping off his lap
"you have no clothes on" she blurted then blushed
"I have some on " he teased "but if it makes you that uncomfortable I'll go put some more on"
"I was a little shocked thats all ..... I mean its night time why wouldnt you ... but I was more worried what Lilly would think" she smiled referring to his current girlfriend, the only one that had lasted more than one date since Darcy. Bobby hads been dating her for a couple of months now and the team had met her several times, petite with dark hair and blue eyes and slim and beautiful aswell as bright she had it all.


"um Lil and I aren't together anymore we broke up at the weekend...."
he said sadly his eyes filled with emotion.
Tara placed a hand on his bare arm in an attempt to comfort him as he had comforted her without getting to close and hurting her own heart.
"In sorry bobby I know you liked her a lot...."
"yeah well she didnt feel the same.... ... she was cheating on me" he explained sighing resignedly.
"Im very sorry thats horrible when that happens.... Im here if you need to talk we are stuck here together for a while." Tara smiled gently
"yeah thanks.... by the way its about 5.45 now so if you want to get up rather than go back to sleep I can make some coffee" he smiled at her
"That would be good I'll go have a quick shower" she smiled heading for the ensuite shower room

Sad that Bobby broke up with his girlfriend, but very good for him and Tara!!!
