Beautiful end for a beautiful story Ivory Flowers.gif

I think I caught up from where I left off but somehow the ending just isn't satisfying I still have some questions.

That was a wonderful romance, Ivory! And I agree with everyone else -- you've left enough unsaid to warrant a sequel. batting eyelashes.gif

Well done, Ivory! The little details you add are wonderful - like the gardens; I could picture them enjoying their picnic there! But I'm with Pam... I think you've got a thread or two that would work well into a sequel! wink.gif
tis*me!
Just catching up! So sorry I got behind in reading - I've been very busy lately.
But I'm glad I finally had a chance to read the conclusion to this fantastic story!
It was a wonderful ending, but a sequel would be wonderful! biggrin2.gif
Great job, Ivory! applause.gif
I love your writing!

Ivory, what an awesome story from start to finish! I loved your original character in Rosemary. You developed her so well. All of the little twists and turns took us on a wonderful ride. perfect10.gif hifive.gif

I loved the story and I got chance to read it all in two sittings between yesterday and today. So many twists and turns, but there is so much still left that could be explored. So has everyone badgered you into a sequel yet???

Can I take this opportunity to say what a great story from the start...and I hope we get another one soon.

Thankyou for sharing your wonderful talent with us.

Well, Ivory, I’m catching up…have a long way to go…but anxious to get back and see what Rosemary is up to. Little did I know that "wait until tomorrow" for Rosemary’s and Jack’s talk would turn into almost 4 weeks due to an unexpected hard drive crash just before traveling to KS for my niece’s wedding and Thanksgiving. Now that’s all behind me, the family has all gone home, except me, and I find myself chasing tomorrow’s deadline. But, I’m persevering. On to reading while watching the Kansas/Missouri football game…..Unfortunately KS is trailing 14-0. But I’m not much of a football fan, so reading fanfic while watching (really just occasionally listening to) the game with dad is kind of a no-brainer! On with the show…..

11/1 – Page 10 – Post #136 – What? A detour on Jack and Rosemary’s talk? Well, whatever it is, I’m sure it will be enjoyable. Oh, a lot in that post….Sue’s tire mysteriously goes flat; Rosemary learns Charlie keeps his shop neat and orderly, meets Troy and gets to go to lunch with Charlie, affording her the opportunity to really learn more about Jack. The team acquires a new case…and the kicker…circumstances beyond Jack’s control have forced him to make a decision about asking Sue to marry him sooner rather than later. I hope he chooses to ask her…even though it’s not how he had wanted to…he can still make it romantic. I can’t remember if he already talked to D about his intentions and he and Sue continuing to work together. I think he did, but that could have been another story. And, having temporarily lost all my emails (they’re all jumbled in one huge recovered Outlook file) I can’t go back and review except online, which is not an option with only dial-up internet at dad’s. I'll say it again... 2.gif

A lot there! And when you said a “slight” detour, I think that was an understatement! laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

Continuing to read....

11/5 – Page 11 – Post #151 – I love it that both Rosemary and Charlie seem to be surprised with how comfortable they are with each other. And I think Jack is going to ask Rosemary for Sue’s hand or else he wants them there when he proposes to Sue. What better way to propose than with their friends, family and surrogate family there. yay.gif

“ Hey, I didn’t name the guy. Blame his parents, ” Jack countered as he put a picture of Miller on the board. "Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the case of the Jeweler and the FBI agent."
What a case title! I love it! Love it! Love it! slaphappy.gif

And he’s going to propose during the review of the case, isn’t he? l_turn.gif

Also, I predicted early on (just ask Linny) that Charlie and Rosemary would be getting together….and now I’m sure that’s where we’re headed, Ivory! And even though, like Tina, I’m sitting in my chair.gif

this is what I’m really wanting to do…. exclaim.gif

11/6 – Page 11 – Post #163 – Well, it didn’t go exactly as I thought, but that’s what is so wonderful about the stories out here. It’s much better to be surprised! That was an ingenious plan of Jack’s and I’m sure he has a wonderful afternoon planned for them and I can’t even begin to guess how he is going to propose. I’ve reread the post and am faint.gif jack.gif

Now on to read about Jack and Sue’s afternoon! hearty.gif

11/7 – Page 12 – Post #178 – I’m crying with happiness right along with rosemary and Sue. A beautiful proposal, all three posts! I'm on cloud9.gif kiss.gif

11/8 – Page 13 – Post #191 – Another blissful post. “Charles” and Rosemary are so comfortable with each other. Rosemary is softening her ways and Charlie is so sweet with her. I swear he must be taking lessons from Jack on how to romance a woman. And he even asked to escort her to the wedding. I loved the way Jack reigned in their making out by suggesting they walk Levi. I just love jack.gif

And yes, they had better call their parents. But so like a young couple in love to forget about everyone and everything else except each other. hearty.gif cloud9.gif

11/10 – Page 14 – Post #204 – A wonderful impromptu celebration. So like the team to bring the items each chose. Perfect. And Alice, you are an absolute doll! I can definitely see romance in the air for an older couple now….which means there could be hope for me to find my "Jack"! Except, if Rosemary and Charlie get together, that will leave poor Alice out in the cold again. She needs to “hook up” with Oscar, Johnson is it? Too tired to look it up right now. I just don’t see how this story can keep getting any better, Ivory, but it does! blowkiss.gif

11/11 – Page 15 – Post #217 – I also loved the teasing by Sue and Jack of Rosemary regarding her growing interest in Charlie. I have to agree with Sue…it has been an amazing day. I am certainly all fuzzified and ready for bed myself to have sweet dreams about meeting an older “Jack”! Wouldn’t it be loverly! So, this seems like a good place to stop and call it a night. I'll pick up the last three pages in the morning, Ivory. A beautiful, romantic story! cloud9.gif

Double dating with your grandmother!! Now there's something you don't do or see everyday! And since Rosemary and Charlie are "of an age", they'll want to make an early evening of it I'm sure, leaving Jack and Sue plenty of alone time... right Ivory? Tina
knock knock.gif Now Tina, not to take anything away from Jack and Sue wanting to be alone; but, I beg to differ with you! shakes head.gif

What makes you think just b/c ‘Rosemary and Charlie are "of an age", they'll want to make an early evening of it’ ? There have been plenty of times when I’ve stayed up way past midnight. If I were Rosemary, and not having been on a real “date” in years (which I haven't), I certainly would NOTwant to make an early evening of it, especially being enamored, as she now is, of her granddaughter’s future husband, not to mention enjoying Charlie’s company. batting eyelashes.gif

After all, Jack and Sue will have plenty of times to be alone together, but how often will they "double date" with Rosemary and Charles"? Now I realize, at 67, I'm a little younger than Rosemary probably is, but still, don't send me, whoops, I mean Rosemary, home just b/c you think I....er...she, is "old"! LolLolLolLol.gif LolLolLolLol.gif LolLolLolLol.gif

Okay, I've got to log off now and go take my morning nap! girlyawn.gif slaphappy.gif

Oh, not my nap, get ready for church it is! confused.gif slaphappy.gif

Ok, back to finally get caught up.

11/12 – Page 16 – Post #229 – Rosemary is wonderful to send Sue off to be with Jack. After all, she knows they want to be alone and that they won’t be this evening when she and Charlie are with them. Love it that Jack is wanting to get on with the planning….reserving the church, arranging for marriage counseling. I notice you didn’t tell us how far out the church was reserved and/or how long the marriage counseling sessions are. So I guess we’re going to have to guess as to how soon they’re going to marry. J

What a laugh on Jack…he probably didn’t have to worry about the jeweler’s daughter after all. But, at least it took him off square one. laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

Oh, no! Now Ivory, you aren’t going to let Jack or Bobby, Myles or D get hurt are you? I just couldn’t take that! I’m glad they prayed. I just love Rosemary and what a wise woman she is to keep the girls occupied by teaching them to knit. I love to knit. Something else I have in common with Rosemary!!!!! Thank goodness the guys are all okay. I was really scared during this whole post, Ivory!

11/13 – Page 17 – Post #241 – I loved the way Jack comforted Sue until she stopped shaking and how they each knew this time their concern for each other was different than all the other times. But that Jack wasn’t too worried to concentrate and keep from being injured.
QUOTE
When the guys noticed the knitting that the girls had abandoned, Bobby decided it was time for some levity. “Hey Sparky, I thought the ladies started knitting those little booties for ankle-biters after the wedding.”

Jack was quick on the comeback. “I didn’t know you were colorblind, Crash. I see brown and green yarn here, but not light blue or pink.”
A wonderful line by Bobby here and a great comeback by Jack!

That was a wonderful, sweet, delightfully romantic story, Ivory. I loved it…have an affinity for Rosemary! Thank you for sharing it with us! You can add me to the list of requests for a sequel! And I’m definitely adding your other stories to my list of MUST READS!
