I was wondering if the T-R-U-S-T M-E was directed at Sue or us? Call it a suspicious mind, but I keep thinking there's more coming -- and I'm not talking about showers and baths. More of those are fine.

I've gone from Delusional to Devastated... and the whole time what I was aiming for was Delirious!

Sue suspiciously eyed the soft yellow bathrobe too small for Jack. She pulled the belt from the pocket and found a note attached to it.

It was supposed to be your Christmas gift, Sue
but the store shipped it too late.

Jack was waiting at the door. “You’re gorgeous.”

She placed a tender kiss on his lips. “Thank you.”

“My pleasure. See you in the morning.”

Once he entered the bathroom, she disobeyed him and headed for the living room.

She gasped in delight at the coffee table where two candles were burning near a dozen red roses. She reached for the card.

Under the pillow is proof of how much I love you.

She moved blanket and pillow to uncover a small velvet box and a card.

I love you forever.
Tomorrow, I’ll ask you to become my wife.
Tonight, I’d love you to wear my grandmother’s wedding ring on your necklace intertwined with your delicate cross.

I always love it when turtle Jack goes to cheetah Jack with just one REAL date. Notice I put the word REAL in there, less others be confused with all of those FAKE dates they've been going on for years.

So not only does she get Jack for Valentine's Day, but she gets Jack forever? Lucky girl.

“It’s yours, Sue... Will you marry me?”

In the glow of the candlelight, tears shined in her eyes. “Yes. I love you, Jack... with all my heart.”

He captured her lips, sealing their destiny.

What an amazing story, Marlene! You definitely captured the "feel" of Phantom and took us on quite the journey "behind the scenes", so to speak. I had to laugh... Jack called her "stubborn", but he obviously knew she wasn't going to head straight to the bedroom. Course, if he'd called her "predictable", he might not have received such a fuzzy response!

I can't believe it's over... but, Marlo, I loved this story and it just makes me want to go see The Phantom again... of course it only comes my way during Christmas time so I can't really do that. I do have the movie, though. And you should get that hubby of yours to take you to see it or rent the movie.

I did enjoy the movie, very much, on an 80" screen. The music was outstanding and the costumes and sets very opulent. I went back and reread the beginning of the performance in your story. I understand it now and can visualize.

Shivers from your descriptions of the Phantom of the Opera; shivers from the many creepy moments as Jack and Sue uncovered the secrets of the old opera house, not to mention those delicious shivers brought on by the many fuzzy moments Jack and Sue shared while they were discovering those secrets. Beautifully written story---loved it from start to finish!!!
