Here goes....

Monday 1st December

“Whoa, wait up fellas. We’ve lost him again!” Bobby’s Australian drawl competed with the DC lunchtime traffic. D. smiled. Myles shook his head as Bobby scanned the area. Bobby spotted a familiar figure silently staring into a store window.

Since Jack had asked Sue to marry him, his head had been firmly stuck in the clouds. Distracted was an understatement. Jack was more than keeping Bobby on his toes. Bobby had got use to seeing Jack lose his concentration over Sue, but in the last two weeks this had taken on a new and interesting phase, whereby he’d actually managed to lose Jack altogether. Although it was becoming a bit of a standing joke around the office, Bobby was concerned. When they were busy working on a case there was no problem, the determined, focused and driven Jack of old was there in the thick of things. Lunchtime, dinner, evenings and weekends infact any kind of down time at all, was another matter. Bobby had just got over being abandoned at Slappys. Jack had taken the car and vanished returning to the office later like nothing had happened. Only to be embarrassed and apologetic, when Myles had asked him if he had forgotten anything!

“Come on “ he said to D. and Myles “Jacks checking out his feminine side I need back up!”

As they walked up the sidewalk to the store it became perfectly clear why they had lost him this time. A bridal gown adorned the window. Pinned and stretched to get the very best effect, it stood poised and elegant sparkling in the bright winter sunshine.

“Its perfect. “ Jack said.

“I hate to tell you this mate but ivory is not your colour!” Bobby replied trying to shake Jack out of his reverie.

“A floor length off the shoulder gown of ivory silk, if I’m not mistaken. A traditionally elegant line with front split, to mid knee, with the mere hint of decadence in the hand stitched pearls and lace devoir trim. A classic, somewhat overpriced designer bridal gown. I could see Ms Thomas looking very nice in that.” Myles said with an air of authority which astounded his colleagues.

“Fashion critic. Nice touch Myles” D. said with raised eyebrows to Bobby. Myles never ceased to amaze.

“Only one thing wrong. I think our Sue would look a little more than nice in that!” Bobby then raised his eyebrows to D, and nodded his head in the direction of Jack.

D. put his arm around Jacks shoulder “Come on Bobby’s getting hungry. You know what he gets like!”

“Sorry guess I did it again huh?” Jack was apologetic. But that gown was just how he had imagined Sue on their wedding day.

“No wonder Bobby keeps losing you. I just thought he was getting absent minded in his old age.” D. was more than sympathetic Jack had been through the mill in recent weeks and was about to take one of the biggest steps in his life.. “Don’t worry comes with the territory just affects some men more than others!”

“Well I would hate to see anyone who’s got it worse than Jack!” Myles muttered.

“Tracking devise” Bobby mouthed to D. out of Jack’s eyesight! He wasn’t joking either.

“Good idea” said Myles

“Good idea what?” Jack asked finally having shaken his reverie, and tuned back into the real world.

“A good idea to go to the Petit Monsieur. My fru fru ladies luncheon club. To help Bobby with his cholesterol.” Myles said jovially having just won his choice of dining establishments.

Bobby had a feeling the next 24 days were going to test him in ways that had never been tested before as an FBI agent!

I love this story Mentor, how you've portrayed Jack as the one with his head in the clouds and thinking about wedding dresses, it's just too cute. It definately shows how much he cares for Sue. I cant wait for more.

Tuesday 2nd December

Jack had been watching Sue work for the past 10 minutes. It was no good. If he didn’t have a chance to kiss those lips and put his hands around that neat waist and look into those beautiful hazel eye, he knew that his paperwork wasn’t going to get done today. He looked at the office clock. Ten to twelve. They could go to lunch at ten to twelve. A little early maybe but not noticeably so. Maybe they could go via the car park, and then maybe, just maybe…

“Jack?” Sue interrupted his thoughts

“Er Sue “ Jack blushed profusely. Sue could guess where his brain had been for the last ten minutes. She shook her head at him. No please not that sexy steamed look he thought!

“Lucy, Tara and I are taking personal time this afternoon. We are going shopping.”

“Oh” Was as much as he could say. They usually shopped in their lunch hours. There went his plan.

“We’re going to purchase her bridal trousseau!” Lucy grinned naughtily. She’d been watching Jack participate in his favourite hobby for the past 10 minutes.

“Arghhhh Lingerie shopping for the wedding!” Bobby couldn’t miss an opportunity like this. “Better let Sue know your preferences Jack!” He gave him a large wink.

Both Sue and Jack turned a nasty shade of scarlet.

Jack cleared his throat. “Here take my credit card” Jack said getting it out of his wallet, and handing it to Sue.

“Really” Sue gave him the sweetest of smiles.

“You can’t pay for everything.” Jack replied desperately trying to get images of Sue trying on lingerie out of his mind.

“I knew there was a reason I was marrying you!” Sue lent over and gave him a peck on the cheek.

“Ooh very risky Jack! Not to be recommended!” D. shook his head “Soon. Very soon you’ll have no money for lunch.”

Sue, Lucy and Tara disappeared for some reason unbeknown to Jack Lucy had taken control of his credit card!

Bobby looked at Jack smirking. Jack needed to get rid of that pent up frustration before he exploded. “Right my boy. We’re off to the gym!”

“Huh. We are?” Jack was confused. “Well I suppose I’ve been skipping my cardio work out a bit lately!”

“It wasn’t your heart I was worrying about!” Bobby quipped.

Sue, Lucy and Tara were busy in the lingerie department of yet another top Washington store. Sue had actually lost track of where she was and was pleased she had left Levi with Jack. Lucy’s enthusiasm for the task was totally overwhelming her. Tara had seen Sue flagging and had come up with a methodical solution to their shopping problems. She had worked out exactly what Sue would need and had added 10 % extra for emergencies.

“You’re not working out your bank account here Tara. This is far too important. Sues needs a wedding trousseau not a practical savings plan!” Lucy was indignant.

“Ok well lets shop in a more structured way. Lets start at the beginning bridal lingerie!” Tara had been quick to offer alternatives.

“Ooh lets!” said Lucy heading straight for the bridal range. She stood in front of the Basques and declared loudly “Detachable or non detachable?”

“Luce” Said Sue embarrassedly.

“Detachable or non detachable what?” Tara was intrigued.

Lucy could tell that both Tara and Sue would benefit from her worldly knowledge this afternoon. “Straps “ she replied shaking her head.

"High leg, midi, mini, string, short or thong?" Lucy asked. Sue screwed up her face she hadn’t got all of that as Lucy was far too excited.

“Garter belt, stockings, lace hold ups or detachable to the Basque?” Sue was none the wiser.

“Ok lets put it this way ladies. How clever is Jack?”

Tara and Lucy both looked at Sue expectantly for an answer. “Well he managed just fine last time!” Tara hadn’t even realised that had been a last time!

“What were you wearing?” Lucy asked emphatically.

“Bobby’s t shirt.” Sue said shyly

“Ok then we’ve established that Jack is going to be in for a treat!” Lucy said with a grin on her face. Here try these. Lucy handed her a bundle of lingerie. Sue picked up a much simpler design and took that too.

Lucy and Tara stood outside the changing room waiting for Sue.

“Tara you’ve known Jack a long time. What would he dream of Sue wearing under her bridal gown?” Lucy asked in all seriousness. Taking her role of maid of honour to heart.

Tara looked at Lucy. “ I don’t know him that well!”

“But your one of the boys you’re an agent!” Lucy said exasperated by Tara’s answer.

“Yes I’m privilege to many conversations but that one hasn’t exactly come up” Tara paused deep in thought. Then added excitedly “Ooh I could make a suggestion! We could call Bobby!”

Bobby was sitting at his desk when the phone rang.

“Manning “ he answered. “Oh hello Luce. I thought you were shopping?”

“We are. But I need to ask you a question!”

"You do! Well fire away I’ll help you in any way I can. You know me!” He took a sip of his coffee.

“If you were Jack what would you expect Sue to be wearing under her bridal
gown?”

Bobby spluttered as he coffee went down the wrong way. He knew he was best man but this was one responsibility too many. His spluttering had caught the attention of Myles and D. Thank fully. Jack had taken Levi out for a walk.

“Did I get that right Luce? If I were Jack what would I expect Sue to be wearing under her bridal gown?” He said out loud so Myles and D. could follow.

“So we are talking about ingress and egress here! Well given Jacks current state of mind. I would say. No lacing, minimum clasps and ease of access being your definite priority.” When Jack came back with Levi ten minutes later howls of mysterious laughter continued to travel around the office.

Sue came out of the changing room looking simply stunning. She was wearing the lingerie she had chosen herself. Simple, elegant and very sexy.

“No lacing” Lucy said studying her friend

“Check “ Tara replied

“Minimum Clasps” Lucy said checking out the back.

“Check “ Tara replied

“Ease of access?” Lucy thought even Jack could manage this one!

“Check “ Tara replied.

Tara and Lucy gave each other a high five. “Definitely that one” Lucy said to Sue

“That’s good because this is the one I was going to buy anyway.” Said Sue with a determined smile on her face.

Wednesday 3rd December

Sue pulled up in her red convertible outside the Hoover Building. Where was Jack? They were going to be late! He finally came down the steps his hand waving goodbye to the others when he saw Sue’s car. She could see Bobby jokingly pointing him in the right direction and smiled to herself.

“Where have you been?” Sue asked trying to be slightly cross. “I was beginning to think Bobby had misplaced you again!”

“Is this a taste of married life to come?” Jack teased as she pulled out into the early evening traffic. God she was gorgeous, he thought to himself. Perhaps this evening he could get some time alone with her. Since Sue had declared a pre wedding period of abstinence she had been literally sending him mad! His brain was becoming hazier by the day, all he needed was some quality time with his bride to be, although Bobby had suggested a bucket of iced water would probably be a good alternative.

“Sorry didn’t get that! I was watching the road.” Sue said.

When they pulled up to a stoplight and Jack knew he had her attention he repeated it again. “Is this a taste of married life to come?”

“Jack” Said Sue indignantly “You know this is important we are meeting the wedding planner.”

Jack lost her attention again as the light turned green and she moved off. Jack hadn’t really realised how much was involved in planning a wedding. When he had asked her to marry him, he had envisaged the two of them living happily ever after. The ceremony really hadn’t crossed his mind. Let alone the reception. He knew she would want a church wedding and so did he, but all he really wanted was Sue.

At the next stoplight he tried again. “What do we need a wedding planner for?”

Sues nose screwed up and she pursed her lips, she couldn’t decide if he was teasing or not. “Jack darling. What do you think we need a wedding planner for?”

“Sue honey. I have no idea!” His eyes were alight and full of fun. They rarely called each other honey or darling that joke had started whilst they were undercover. She knew he was teasing her. He had been bantering with Bobby most of the afternoon, and it always left him in good spirits.

“Jack dear. He’s going to organise this wedding so we have time to eat and sleep in the next 3 weeks.” She was not going to rise to the bait.

“Sue honey. When you said we. Did you mean that you would be eating and sleeping with me for the next 3 weeks” Jack gave her his most charming and seductive smile.

Sue could feel her resolve slipping. Stop it Hudson. She said to herself. Stop it.

“Jack darling. You wouldn’t want to be too tired to enjoy your wedding night? Would you?” Sue said as sweetly as she could.

“ I kinda get it now. The wedding planner helps us to save our energy so we can put it to better use else where!” He gave her a wink. Sue tried not to blush. The lights had changed but neither of them had noticed.

“ I suppose you could put it like that Jack.” She loved it when he teased her, but enjoyed it better when she got the upper hand.

“I could live with that dear!” He said raising his eyebrows and giving her a playful
salacious smile.

“I’m so glad that you agree with me honey.” With that Sues car jolted forward as it was hit in the back. Sue’s eyes opened wide as she realized what had happened. Jack grimaced. They were late already, this wasn’t going to help.

Oh my, a car accident...not good timing.

Cute dialogue. Poor Jack, if he hadn't tasted the fruit prematurely he wouldn't be in this kind of predictament now...sometimes ignorance has its advantages...laugh.gif

Sidenote to mentor: You have 'appropriate' wicked and 'inappropriate' wicked. Yours was 'appropriate' and fun. No worries, my friend.

lol, right there with ya bigfan. Great story. The banter is cute. But I agree, once Jack got himself into it, it's not easy to get out of. Ah what's that old saying, ignorance is bliss...

Keep up the awesome work!! A very enjoyable read.

Thursday 4th December

When Jack had dropped Sue off at the apartment the previous night Lucy could sense that something was wrong, Sue had received a quick peck on the cheek from Jack and disappeared into her bedroom. Jack had turned and left without a word. Jack dropping Sue off usually turned into a battle of wits, which started with a kiss at the door, transferred to the sofa and then returned to the door about 45 minutes later. Lucy had learnt to make herself scarce. Ahh to be young and in love. Lucy had thought to herself. She had admired Jacks determination, and Sues resolve.

Sue hadn’t said anything and she didn’t want to pry. So she sat at her desk watching the pair of them look sullenly at each other. Lucy had some paperwork for Jack. She approached his desk wondering what sort of response she would get.

“Here’s the Carter report and Randy wants you to do your expenses again.” Jack raised his eyebrows.

Lucy could stand it no more. “Ok what’s up?”

“ We missed the wedding planner last night. I was late leaving then Sue bumped the car and then the wedding planner called to say he couldn’t take us anyway. Thought we were getting married in a year’s time. Not three weeks. Apparently he wasn’t a miracle worker.”

“Jack” Lucy said disappointedly like it was his fault.

“It wasn’t all my fault,” He said in his defence.

“Sue had her heart set on a wedding planner.” Lucy said sadly.

“I know. But were going to have to do it ourselves now unless I can find anyone else. I promised I would ring around in my lunch hour.” Jack gave Lucy a pathetic look. His big brown puppy dog eyes begging for some support on this issue.

“Look you take Sue to lunch. I will sort it out. Leave it with me. This needs a woman’s touch.” Lucy said emphatically. She passed Jack his coat. “Take her now. Make sure it’s a long lunch.”

D. walked into the silent bullpen. Everyone was at their desks heads down and working. Enough to make any acting supervisor suspicious.

“Ok people lets put an end to this fun and frivolity right now. We have a new case!”

Jack looked up, relieved he had something else to think about other than the wedding. He signalled to Sue who joined him at the front of his desk.

“Right Myles you’re the lead agent on this case. Fill everyone in.”

Jack looked puzzled. He was usually the lead agent. He looked at D. He was about to protest but before he could D said. “Not this one Jack It’s far too important that we get it right!” Jack was more than a little taken aback but he could see a sly smile forming on Bobby’s lips.

“First we have the victim Anthony Franque Wedding Planner extraordinaire. But apparently not a miracle worker.” Myles said somewhat sarcastically. He slapped a 10 x 8 glossy onto the board.

“Enough already. I know where this is going” Jack put his hands in the air. “It’s my fault I apologised to Sue. You don’t all have to gang up on me,” Jack said defensively trying to finish the joke before it got started. Sue was upset enough.

“Now Jack. There’s no need to jump to conclusions Myles is in charge of this case. Just let him finish” D. tried not to laugh.

“As I was saying before I was rudely interrupted. The wedding planner Anthony Franque is to all intents purposes deceased. Leaving a large gap in this historic and truly challenging case. Now known as the impending Hudson Thomas nuptials!”Tara handed Myles two more photographs. One of Jack and the other of Sue. Complete with the identifying labels bride and groom. He put them up on the board.

“Nice photo of Sue not sure about yours Jack “ Bobby quipped.

“If I may continue?” Myles looked impatiently at Bobby.

“We have a number distinct patterns emerging in this case. And I am therefore going to allocate members of the team to pursue each itinerary. Bobby as Best Man will deal with all things to do with the groom. And Lucy as Maid of Honour will deal with all things to do with the bride. Tara will deal with book keeping and accounts. D. will deal with all things ecclesiastical. I as befits my upbringing and status will deal with everything else and oversee that entire operation, ensuring that protocol and etiquette are adhered to in all circumstances.”

“But how…? “ Sue was puzzled

“We Ms Thomas and Special Agent Hudson are the FBI and we can do anything we please.” Myles replied with a flourish.

Jack looked at Sue. “It could work!” Sue nodded her head. A smile beginning to form on her lips.

Jack reached for Sue’s hand. “I think I speak for myself and the future Mrs Hudson when I say we would be honoured to accept your services.”

“Right synchronise watches team. First case conference will be at the Hudson apartment 7.00 pm tonight. Then we will meet at 8.00am every morning to update.” Myles was in charge and relishing every bit of it.

Sue squeezed Jacks hand. She looked at him with a tear in her eye. Jack gave her a wink. “Myles Leyland III our Wedding Planner. I know makes me want to cry too!”

Friday 5th December

Lucy and Sue sat on the sofa cherishing one of the few girls nights in they had left.

“I’m going to miss you and Levi.” Lucy was fretting. The last two years sharing the apartment with Sue had been one of the happiest times in her life.

“Oh Luce. Your meet someone soon, and anyhow you don’t have to be lonely. Bobby seems to have an open ended invite to Jacks apartment so I don’t see why you shouldn’t!” As much as Sue loved Jack Lucy had a special place in her heart.

“Uh huh,” Said Lucy “ You don’t think Jack may want his wife to himself for a little bit then?” Lucy couldn't believe that Sue had no idea of the kind of effect that she had on Jack. They were going to have one amazing honeymoon!

“Well I hope he does. But it doesn’t mean you’re not welcome. It just means call first.” Sue said with a smile. She had already started to pack some of her belongings to take over to Jacks, and couldn’t wait to become Mrs Hudson.

“I’m so glad you and Jack finally sorted things out. I’ve wanted you to be together since forever!”

“Yes I did notice Luce.” Sue smiled “You are very good at matchmaking. Jack and I were just a difficult case.” Sue added reassuringly.

“You can say that again. I really thought I had done it at the charity auction, and then you two had to get married for the case. Hey now your marrying Jack for real you can tell me what really went on in that house!” Lucy said excitedly. She never had really got the bottom of it. “How did you make Jack fall in love with you?”

That was a very good question. Had there been one moment that had defined the whole direction their relationship had taken. “ I didn’t set out to make Jack fall in love with me!” Sue replied thoughtfully still considering Lucy’s question.

“You can say that again girl. Those granny pyjamas you packed weren’t exactly going to set Jack on fire now were they?” Lucy grinned.

“They were warm and practical.” Sue said matter of factly trying not to rise to Lucy’s bait. “Jack was quite the gentleman when he saw me in them.”

“I bet he was. Perhaps he was trying not to laugh!”

“ Jack is very trustworthy!” Sue said with playfully indignant. “He even sent Levi to get me out of the shower!”

“So what were you wearing when you got out of the shower?” Lucy was curious.

“Just my blue robe, but Jack needed me to do some surveillance”

“And he wasn’t doing any surveillance of his own?” Lucy raised her eyebrows grinning. “ So there you were still damp from the shower your blue robe clinging to all the right places and Jack did nothing. I’m impressed. Must have nerves of steel”

“No he stopped me from toppling over…..and….” Sue stopped as the moment came flooding back to her.

“And what?” Lucy cried, “You can’t just stop there!”

“And the rest is classified” It had suddenly occurred to Sue that Jacks hand resting gently on her damp hips, there bodies only inches apart may very well have been the defining moment.

“Classified? Don’t give me classified. I saw Jacks face when I came to pick you up. He couldn’t take his eyes off of you! Infact I actually felt sorry for him.”

“You did?” Sue was a little surprised.

“Well just a little bit. Its just that kicked puppy look. Wounded and vulnerable. I fall for it every time! Especially when he wants me to finish up his paperwork.” Lucy smiled to herself. Jack was really one of her best friends, and it felt like she had known him forever. She was so pleased that he was on cloud 9 because of Sue.

“Well I wouldn’t. I have it on good authority that Levi taught Jack how to do that!”
Smiler
Aw Helen, i don't know what you were so worried about. this is fabulous! I love how the whole gang are now involved in Jack and Sue's "impending nuptials" rather than just guests - too funny! And Myles as Wedding Planner - what a hoot! Can't wait to see that!

Saturday 6th December

Jack heard the knock on his apartment door, and sleepily went to answer it. It was Saturday morning and Jack wasn’t expecting anyone. Jacks only plan for the morning had been to get reacquainted with his duvet. Late night surveillance, a heavy workload and the wedding starting to catch up with him. Bobby stood clutching coffee, bagels and a pile of what looked like holiday brochures.

“What no key?” Jack asked sarcastically.

“This was not my idea mate. You’re the one who decided to propose remember?” Jack was none the wiser.

“Well usually after the wedding. Comes the honeymoon. Myles woke me up at 6.00am to tell me I was relinquishing on my duties as best man because you hadn’t booked the honeymoon yet.” Bobby looked at Jack sympathetically. If this is what love and marriage did to you. He could easily pass on it.

“Arghhhh Myles.” Jack said knowingly.

“Turned into the next Martha Stewart.”

“I hope not” Said Jack an interesting vision of Myles forming in his mind. “You’d better come in then.” Jack took the coffee Bobby was offering.

“Well the good news is…” Jack was interrupted by another knock as the door. This time it was D.

“Myles said there was a situation, and I should get over here as fast as I could.” He then looked Jack up and down. Jack was still in his bathrobe. He then realised the emergency was in Myles mind. “It must be a wedding situation! You look tired Jack. You need to get more rest.”

“Erm Really?” Jack motioned for D. to come in.

“ I see you have visitors already” D. pulled up a stool next to Bobby at the breakfast bar. Bobby handed him a bagel.

“As I was saying….” Jack was interrupted again. “ How’s a guy to get any rest around here?” Jack opened the door and Myles and Tara strolled in. Neither acknowledging his presence.

“Tara you set up the laptop, I’ll do the whiteboard. Any luck we should have this finished before lunch” Myles new wedding planner persona had taken on some strangely effeminate mannerisms, and his choice of attire was somewhat unusual.

“Morning Jack” Tara said as she passed for the second time. “Cute bathrobe!”

Jack suddenly felt a little embarrassed, and then remembered what this mornings plans had been. “Nice shirt Myles very.. very floral. I’ll go and get changed then he said to no one in particular.” Jack walked into his bedroom, he could see his duvet beckoning him. He needed sleep, hopefully nobody would notice him missing!

“Ok Myles we’re ready!” Tara had the laptop ready to project onto the whiteboard.
Unbeknown to Myles, Tara had worked a few extras into the planned presentation.

“Jack? Where’s he gone now? You just can’t get the clients nowadays” Said Myles haughtily.

D. and Bobby were trying not to laugh.“He snuck back to bed about 15 minutes ago” Bobby offered. “D will go and get him!” Bobby has recent experience of waking Jack up and thought he would rather play with a grizzly.

“ Hey Jack Buddy. Your wedding planner is waiting.” D gently shook his shoulder.

“Tell my wedding planner, that I’ve decided to elope” Jack said tiredly.

D. Grinned. "Come on Jack. It will be worth it in then end. Think of Mrs Hudson”

“What’s my mother got to do with this?” Jack said puzzled.

D. shook his head “ Sue I was talking about Sue!”

“Sorry D. This is all so mind blowing. All I want is Sue. Why do I have to go through this?” Jack asked earnestly.

“No pain, no gain.”

“Is that the best you can come up with? I look to you for inspiration and I get no pain no gain” Jack said indignantly.

“I’m sorry Jack. As far as I can tell every groom gets to go through this. Think of what you get at the end. And I’m not talking about the empty bank account!” D. smiled “ If you feel even half of what I suspect you feel for Sue, you two will have a great marriage.”

“You think so?”

“I know so. You’re doing this for Sue. Come on lets go and see what Myles has got lined up for you this morning!”

Jack sat huddled in his duvet on the sofa. Bobby on one side D. on the other preventing his escape. He’d almost totally decided to agree with Myles, just so he could go back to bed, when Tara’s video presentation flickered to life. Myles stood, in his Hawaiian shirt with a towel slung over his shoulders and his sun glasses perched on top of his head. Tara had dubbed the original tape from the charity auction.

This is Myles Leyland III Wedding Planner extraordinaire bringing you the best choice of honeymoons the FBI has to offer. Myles was staggered not quite what he had asked Tara to do, but he did like it when she teased him.

“Are you trying to make a mockery of me woman?” Myles asked with familiarity that stunned his colleagues. Well he certainly had Jacks attention now.

“No my darling you can do that all by yourself!” Came back Tara’s prompt reply.

“Ermmm” Was as much as Myles could manage in front of his colleagues. Stunned by the fact Tara had openly called him darling.

The presentation continued.

The Manning choice of destination Vegas! Tara had borrowed a minute’s footage from a travel company and Myles explained in only the way he could the veritable delights on offer in Vegas.

Jack started to laugh, Vegas was the last place in the world he would consider taking Sue on Honeymoon.

“Hey Bobby. If you ever pluck up enough courage to propose to Darcy. I will have to warn her about the Manning choice of destination!”

“I wanted Australia but Myles wouldn’t let me have it! Bobby replied sulkily “Hey there nothing wrong with Vegas. Glitz, glamour, hot and sultry. Oh and Elvis liked Vegas!”

“I’ll bare that in mind! I can see the romantic possibilities are endless!” Jack said sarcastically.

The Leyland Choice of destination Paris. Myles waxed lyrical on the sights and sounds of Paris. So much so that Tara began to stare at the screen absorbing every word he said. Bobby, D and Jack. Had given up listening to Myles and were watching Tara.

“Erm Tara!” Myles had also spotted her.

“Oh sorry Myles” Tara’s reverie broken by his interruption.

“So what do you think Jack?” Myles asked enthusiastically.

“Too clichéd” was the best that Jack could come up with!

The Gans choice of destination The Caribbean. Jack did his best to watch and listen, but as the thirteenth person limboed under the pole. He knew he had to call it a day!

“What no drug running in Central America? No under cover in Iraq? I thought these were FBI honeymoons? He said dryly.

“Very droll Jack. Very droll” Myles plan to help Jack choose a honeymoon destination, was failing miserably.

“Its ok though. One of the reasons I’m so tired is that I spent hours on the Internet last night planning and booking a surprise honeymoon for Sue! And guess what guys it’s a secret!” Jack grinned. “ I’m going back to bed now. Shut the door on the way out!”

“Nice one Sparky, Knew you wouldn’t forget the important bit!”

“Good bye Crash!”

“ I want receipts!” Tara demanded instantly.

“You think I was going fall for that one huh?” Said Jack sharply.

“Can’t blame a girl for trying”

“Myles Its not that I’m not grateful but I need to rest. I will be happy to talk about Weddings at 8.00am on Monday. Not before!”

“Lets go. Jack needs his beauty sleep!” D. ushered everyone out of the door.

Jack breathed a sigh of relief. He could go back to bed and carry on dreaming about the honeymoon he had booked for Sue. He had booked a room at a top resort in the Maldives. The room was on stilts at the end of a private jetty. Luxurious and very very private. The beach was covered by golden sand and the ocean was deep blue and tropical. He couldn’t wait to tell Sue the only thing she needed to pack was a bikini. Her face would be a picture.

Wow! Wondeful job so far! I am really enjoying this story! I love how you write the characters! Can't wait for more!
lilsmoochiegirl
Jack I think you are dreaming way too much and doing very little. Sleep and get resting but rememder everything has to be perfect for the wedding let alone the Honeymoon. So just get rested up and ready for some planning cause after all this I'll bet that all you want is Sue.
Anne
angel.gif rofl.gif Mentor you are having so much fun with this it is spilling over to us! I don't know which post I loved more, the one with Lucy and Sue, or the one with the men. You really have Lucy and Sue's relationship down so well. It's so much fun. And the guy's, oh my, too funny. Oh and Tara too of course. Jack going back to bed was such a hoot, I can picture that. Also having him already planned the honeymoon, melting.gif Can't wait for more! Loving the interaction of the characters.

hehe, go Jack!! Nice choice. Keep it up!

Mentor, I am enjoying every post of this story! Jack's sleepy response to the madness is priceless!!! Almost can't believe he put up with it that long, since he already had it planned... but glad we got to witness it!!! Keep it up!!!

Sunday 7th December

“Oh Myles that was just too delicious for words, Tara ran her tongue gently across her bottom lip not wanting to part with the sensations she had just felt too quickly.”

“Simply exquisite, very impressive wouldn’t you say so Miss Williams?” Myles said proudly.

“Well definitely goes to the top of my list. Is there anything else you would like me to experience?” Myles found Tara’s eagerness to partake in new pleasures most commendable.

“I have one more veritable delight for you. Close your eyes. Are you ready?” Myles asked enthusiastically.

“Uh huh” Tara opened her mouth and waited for the next sensation. Myles gently reached towards her, opening her mouth further with the side of his thumb searching out her senses.

“Now wait, let your tongue do all the work, let the pleasure seek you out!” Tara closed her mouth and waited for the words to come into her mind.

“Dark, simmering, bordering on the erotic I would say Myles” Tara had spent the past two hours tasting samples of wedding cake, and as much fun as it had been she’d had other things in mind when Myles had invited over to dinner.

“You can’t describe a wedding cake as erotic. That’s like saying Bobby Manning has finesse.” Myles cried indignantly.

“Now that’s not very nice Myles. You promised me you would try harder.”

“Ahh so I did. I apologise profoundly if I have offended your sensibilities. ” Myles said humbly.

“Bobby has finesse, just not the same style of finesse as you. Where you have flair and refinement. Bobby has charm and humour.” Myles didn’t know whether to be flattered or insulted.

“I have other distinctive qualities.” Myles replied defensively.

“Myles you are very definitely unique. When you asked me round for a bite to eat, I thought you meant dinner. Most girls would have left by now.” Said Tara

“Really?” Myles was surprised

“Myles as much as I appreciate your eccentricities. And tasting 25 samples of wedding cake in one evening. Must qualify for the eccentricity category. And as much as I appreciate that you want to make thing perfect for Jack and Sue. I really feel that there are a few other experiences we could be working on just now.”

“What did you have in mind exactly?” Myles curiosity was piqued.

“Lets see if we can change your perceptions about the nuances of the different days of the week. Lets get rid of that Monday morning feeling, by making sure that Sunday night has a whole new meaning!” Tara said with a twinkle in her eye.

biggrin.gif Helen i loved how it took to about halfway throught the post for us to find out what Tara and Myles were up to. While i knew at the back of my head that you were teasing us, that little part of me was hoping that it was in fact what you were maybe alluding to. Brilliant!!!

And just why does our Tara have that twinkle in her eye? I for one can't wait to find out.

Myles and Tara great!

Mentor, this really is great!!

Love how in the middle of all the choas, J/S are taking care of the important things...Sue her own undergarments and Jack the honeymoon. Yep, a bikini should cover the essentials out in public.
Anne
laugh.gif Mentor that T/M cake scene was absolutely wicked before you let on it was cake! rofl.gif Billiant!

I agree with bigfan, that in the midst of the Big Wedding Planner scheme, which is so much fun, but Jack and Sue are tending to the truly important parts. melting.gif angel.gif
JoM
I know from reading the other reviews that this was a good "wicked" story, but that whole scene with Myles and Tara...well, I didn't know whether to laugh or melt!! I absolutely loved that scene, and Myles just wouldn't be Myles if he wasn't eccentric. 25 samples of wedding cake for dinner? laugh.gif I can't wait to see what Tara means about changing the definitions of the days wub.gif

Great job!

Monday 8th December .

Jack had arrived at his desk at 7.30 am. He needed a full thirty minutes to prepare himself mentally for Myles and the 8.00am meeting. When were they going to get a new case? He’d been back at work for three weeks and there had been no case. The team had spent the best part of last week doing paperwork Surely they must all be caught up by now. He looked down at three small boxes lined up neatly on the desk. Myles had beaten him to it! Next to the boxes was a list of instruction and a series of tick boxes. All this to choose a wedding cake! He shook his head. He looked over to Sue’s desk. Not only did she have the samples but a number of files containing pictures of wedding cakes. He was apparently getting off lightly.

“Ok people gather round!” Jack looked up it was only 7.45 and Myles was starting the meeting. This meant trouble. “Levi get Sue.”

Jack and Sue sat on the front of her desk. Some how Jacks hand had inadvertently found its way to hers. His thumb gently rubbed up and down on the back of Sue’s hand, and then he found her ring finger. She nudged up a bit closer to him, and gave him a small smile. Forgetting momentarily where they were he gave her a dreamy one back.

Myles cleared his throat rather loudly “ No hand holding in the office there people, lets not forget this is the FBI.”

“I’d be careful if I was you Myles. You may never know when you will want to hold someone’s hand in the office mate!” Bobby had been watching Tara and Myles closely now for weeks. If they weren’t hiding in plain sight, he surveillance skills would have failed him badly. “You carry on holding her hand Jack, you’ll be married soon and then the novelty will wear off.”

Jack had been about to let go of Sue’s hand after Myles comment. Now he felt the need to hang on to it even longer because of Bobby’s.” Can we just get on with the meeting.”

“Ah right yes. The reason I convened this meeting early is because I received an email from the reception venue and they regret to inform us that they are double booked.” Myles looked over at Jack and Sue.

“Did I get that right?” Sue asked Jack with an alarmed look in her eyes. Jack squeezed her hand tightly.

“But we paid a deposit!” Jack said trying not to panic for Sue’s sake.

“It’s been refunded to your credit card.” Myles replied.

“I’ll check that” Tara practically zoomed to her computer.

“So today’s task Ladies and Gentlemen is to find a new venue before the invites go to the printers tonight. I imagine we have quite a task ahead of us as the wedding is set for Christmas Eve.” Myles said solemnly. “Any ideas?” He added hopefully.

“Right lets divide up the yellow pages and reconvene at 3.00pm to see what we’ve come up with.”

“ Jack? Sue sorry to do this to you but Howie has been arrested by DC metro they want you to come down and sort things out! Oh and Jack it’s you favourite detective Diana Groves.” D. smiled. Jack shuffled on his feet a bit and tried not to look embarrassed. It had been a longstanding joke in the office that Jack had a thing for Diana, and as much as he thought she was very pretty she was way to intimidating for him. He had decided to enjoy looking but had thought it was safer not to touch!

Jack Sue and Levi made there way to Diana’s desk. She worked in an open plan office much like there own, only a lot larger and a lot more chaotic.

“Arghhhh if it isn’t Special Agent Hudson, glad you could spare the time.” She winked at him and gave him a flirtatous smile. There had always been playful bantering between DC metro and the FBI. “I wasn’t sure you would have time to grace us with your presence, as you important FBI types are always so busy saving the world nowadays.”

“Diana,” Jack nodded acknowledging her, “And you know Sue don’t you?” Diana smiled and directed her attentions straight back at Jack.

“I’m surprised Howie is your snitch Jack, can’t see how you would have developed the necessary rapport there. Given patience is not your most outstanding attribute!”

“Well strictly speaking he's not mine, he's Sues!” Jack answered uncomfortably, feeling a little hot under the collar.

“Figures” Diana said knowledgably. “Well one of the uniforms could escort Sue to lock up and you can stay here and fill me in on life at the FBI of late. How is Bobby?”

“Bobby is just fine,” Sue replied then added “He is still dating Darcy” for good measure.” She had heard on the grapevine that Diana Groves had a reputation.

“And the rumour?” Diana asked mischievously.

“Which rumour would that be Diana?” Jack asked cautiously.

“The one that says Jack Hudson has fallen head of heels for a luscious blonde, and is soon to be lost from the DC dating pool. It can’t be true? Not the confirmed bachelor Jack Hudson I’ve known intimately for so many years!” Diana asked in a flirtatious manner whilst making a show of pushing her long blonde hair across her shoulder.

Sues eye grew wide, she knew that Jack had dated his fair share of women, but she would have to ask Lucy about Diana Groves.

“I’m pleased to say that I can confirm that rumour Diana. We’re a bit pushed for time you know how it is, can we sort this thing out with Howie?” Jack needed a way out and fast.

Diana picked up on his discomfort almost immediately. “ Well congratulations Special Agent Hudson, she must be some woman to be able to satisfy you Jack!”

Jack’s jaw dropped he looked at Diana, then at Sue. This was one question he wasn’t prepared to answer! “Lock up is at the bottom of the stairs right?” Diana nodded and Jack strode quickly off in that direction.

Diana looked at Sue and winked “ Good luck Sue, muscle and brains Jack is quite a catch!” She let out a long sigh.

“Thank you Diana I would have to agree with you on that Jack is quite a catch” Sue replied. Diana had known Jack was marrying her all along. “The next time you wade into the dating pool I would try a line rather than a net, go for quality rather than quantity!” Sue smiled sweetly then followed the path Jack had taken out of the room!

I was going to post this later, but as I'm on my way out for the evening you get it early! Like it or not! biggrin.gif

“Jack my man , Sue and Levi fancy seeing you here!” Howie declared as they entered lock up.

“Who exactly were you expecting Howie?” Jack looked him up and down, and why was he dressed in a Santa suit?

“Well Jack it’s like this, I was out minding my own business when all of a sudden this car pulls up beside me and this bag kinda gets thrown out of the window. The car drives off, and I’m standing there stunned and surprised, So I open the bag and there inside is all this jewellery. Well I didn’t know what to do with it, so I carried on walking down the street and two minutes later I here the sirens and two cops jump out of a car knock me to the ground, and cuff me like. I think I broke my nose again, Do DCPD pay compensation for police brutality, because I really feel like I have a case here Jack. Me an FBI informant like, and law abiding citizen. What do you think Sue, do you think my nose will set straight or do I need plastic surgery? Its..”

“Howie I was buying this until you told me that you are a law abiding citizen. So when you opened the bag you didn’t think the jewellery was stolen then?” Jack knew getting a straight answer from Howie was virtually impossible.

“Jack it’s the season of goodwill, you never know when Santa is going to surprise you. Anyhow I was going to bring it to you and I was on my way there when I was jumped by DCPD…”

“Howie why are you wearing a Santa suit?” Sue asked Jack was apparently not a patient man.

“Well I was going down to the old folks centre to help out, and I thought it would be cheery, them old folks being well old and lonely at this time of year, so anyhow do I get to keep any of the jewellery or is there a reward seeing how I recovered it, so to speak

“Howie!” Jack and Sue said together exasperated.

“Look I’m the innocent party in all this Jack. A case of mistaken identity. Do you know how many people walk around in Santa suits this time of year?”

Jack shook his head. Howie was well Howie.“I’ll speak to Detective Groves and we will get him out of here.” Jack said to Sue. He then took out his cell phone, it would be safer that way. Sue tried not to laugh.

“So you and Jack huh? Do I get an invite?” Howie gave Sue an huge grin…and Sue desperately tried to think of an answer to that particular question…

Sue looked across at Jack as they drove back to the bullpen. He hadn’t said very much since their encounter with Diana. Sue decided to break the ice.

“So Jack what does it take exactly to satisfy you?” Jack looked towards Sue shocked at the question then found himself having to break suddenly as he had taken his eyes off the road.

“Pardon me?” Jack tried to keep a better eye on the traffic.

“Diana Groves said that it would take some sort of woman to satisfy you!”

“Er.. She did?” He asked trying to avoid answering.

“Oh yes she did!”

“Er… er..I would say that you Sue..er… you are plenty enough woman to satisfy me” Jack answered diplomatically.

“That’s a very good answer Jack, I’m very glad we have that clear!”

Jack Sue and Levi walked into the bullpen to be greeted by Bobby.

“Diana Groves just called she said that the women of DCPD have set up a support group to get over your loss from the dating pool, oh and that they released Howie twenty minutes ago” Bobby had enjoyed his chat with Diana. If Darcy wasn’t on the scene you never know there could be a meeting of minds there, he thought to himself.

“Enough! You’re just too funny for me!” Jack rolled his eyes to the ceiling. Sue looked at Jack suspiciously, there was definitely something he wasn’t telling her.

“Any news on the wedding venue?” Jack asked Myles hopefully.

“Well we have a number of ideas, and it hasn’t been easy at this late stage to procure the right setting. Taking into account the occasion and the ambience one would wish to create these are the best options I could come up with; Slappy’s, O’Gonningans, the Hoover buildings staff restaurant, Oh and a state room at the Whitehouse!” Myles looked very pleased with himself.

“Jack! Did he just say what I thought he said?” Sues looked at Jack for an explanation.

“Sorry Myles we didn’t quite get the last one…” Jack knew Myles had connections, but he always thought he had been overstating his contacts with the first family.

“As I said the P.O.T.U.S. and his entourage go out of town this time of year, so the Whitehouse is available. Tara’s just organising security now!” Myles smiled to himself.

“Sue, Myles has booked us a stateroom at the Whitehouse,” Jack said slowly and clearly to make sure she understood.

“The Whitehouse?” Sue repeated the surprise evident in her voice

“Ur huh,” Jack raised his eyebrows, still not sure if Myles was joking.

“Myles, we need to sort out security passes for each of the guests and they will all need to be vetted, by the secret service, so can I have the wedding list to get started on?” Tara diligently went about her business, her fingers skipping across her keyboard at speed.

“So what do you think?” Myles enquired.

Jack wasn’t quite sure what to say. Bobby was grinning at him inanely from his desk, D. was looking at them expectantly. “Er…er..”

“Thank you very much Myles. A little grander than I expected but it will do very nicely.” Sue said. “Of course my mother will love you for ever” She added with a grin. “Of course if Jack wants Slappy’s then I’m happy to consider that too!”

“No the Whitehouse it is.” Jack replied wondering if the groom was supposed to feel this overwhelmed. He cleared his throat “Whatever makes the Mrs Hudson to be happy…” Jack was cut off mid sentence.

“And what about making the existing Mrs Hudson happy?” Came an unexpected voice from behind him.

“Mum! What are you doing here? Jack nearly choked on the donut he had just started on.

“Just a flying visit darling to meet my new daughter in law and to see what I can do to help” Mrs Hudson flew towards Jack giving him a large kiss on the cheek.

“Oh” Was all Jack could manage in reply.

Can I just say to say regarding her quality vs. quantity remark, "Cha ching, girlfriend!!!"

And Jack...if there is more to that story, then we want to hear. I think our Sue is being pretty patient with you and I think you could expand you're explanation of her being enough with more than "er, er."

Mentor, this is great...love the White House, love Jack's mom dropping in, and love seeing Jack overwhelmed.

Tuesday 9th December

Jack parked the car and looked at Sue. The previous nights dinner with his mother had not gone well. His mothers scrutiny of Sue had certainly been unexpected and the evening had quickly gone from bad to worse…...

“Does she always take her dog out to dinner darling?” Mrs Hudson hadn’t quite got over the shock of Levi jumping on her lap when a waiter had dropped and smashed a plate at a nearby table.

“Your very honoured Mum, Levi just doesn’t go to anyone you know.” Jack did his best to find the positive of the situation, but had wondered what had come over Sue and Levi that evening. If Levi had been skittish Sue had been more so.

“I don’t quite understand how Levi hears for Sue. Surely a dog that temperamental would be hard to train, and at best unreliable?” Mrs Hudson had tried her hardest not to pick holes in Sue, but the dog was another matter.

“Sue has a special way with him. She rescued him, they are very close. Infact she has a special way with everyone.” Jack smiled to himself. “ She has a very big heart!”

“That may be so Jackson, but do you truly know what you are getting yourself into?” Mrs Hudson felt that she had danced around the issue of Jack’s impending nuptials long enough.

“Mum I am in love with Sue, and have been for the last couple of years. In fact since the day we met. You are not going to change my mind. I have a very good idea what I am in for, and it’s exactly what I want. I’m looking forward to a long and very happy marriage, to Sue.” Jack hoped he had made his intentions very clear; the last thing he wanted was Sue to be intimidated by his mother.

“Two years? You haven’t really mentioned that there was anyone special in all that time.” Mrs Hudson continued to dig

“Well I couldn’t. Things were sort of under wraps!” Now he had done it. Jack couldn’t believe he had fallen straight into his mothers trap. Sue was on her way back to the table. Levi was looking very sheepish.

“Levi says that he will be on his best behaviour now. He knows his biscuit allowance will be cut otherwise” Sue joked to Jack and Mrs Hudson on her return to the table.

“Come here buddy. Where you will be safe from your owners wrath.” Jack joked back knowing full well the most punishment Levi would have received from Sue was a stern talking too. He was pleased that her few minutes absence seemed to have calmed her nerves. He hoped she was ready for the next onslaught.

“So Sue exactly when did you and Jack become an item?” Mrs Hudson waited determinedly for her answer.

“Well Jack and I have been very close for a long time, I suppose you could say we became more than just good friends…” Sue hesitated she could see the alarmed look on Jacks face. “What I mean to say is that we became even closer on an undercover assignment where we had to pretend to be husband and wife, about six months ago.” Sue looked over to Jack and gave him a weak smile.

“Husband and wife under cover. Do you mean to say that the FBI would expect you to..?” Mrs Hudson clearly was misinterpreting the facts.

“Mum, as you know the FBI expects us to serve in many different ways and that was one of them!” Jack saw an opportunity to twist the truth a little and took it.

“So do you have to partner many Special Agents in the line of duty Sue?” Mrs Hudson had taken the bait.

“Well there’s Bobby, and Myles. Oh and D. of course” Sue answered innocently.

“But..but D. is a married man” Mrs Hudson stuttered.

“Yes I don’t often partner with D. Mostly Jack or Bobby. Myles has improved though!” Sue smiled sweetly at Jack. Although she was slightly suspicious that she had missed something.

“Here comes the waiter dessert anyone?” Jack decided a swift change of subject was needed, and he was desperately trying not to laugh at Sues answer. His joke had spiralled somewhat.

“So when did you announce it to the others?” Mrs Hudson was bemused.

“Well they sort of knew before we did, and Sue and I were thrown together unexpectedly so to speak” Jack interceded. “Dessert anyone? Coffee?” Jack remembered the little incident with his chair in the bullpen, and started to feel a little hot under the collar.

“Yes Jack rescued me from a collapsed tunnel and stopped me from getting hypothermia.” Sue began to blush as she remembered the shower they had shared. Mrs Hudson picked up on it almost immediately.

“How did you manage to save Sue from hypothermia Jackson?” Mrs Hudson raised her eyebrows at her son looking for an answer.

“I just kept her warm and lucid. FBI training is very good.” Jack gave Sue a wink across the table, when his mother wasn’t looking.

“Jacks very resourceful when he wants to be!” Sue exclaimed having finally grasped that Jack was deliberately misleading his mother. She then signed to him That wasn’t very nice Jack.

“So I gather!” Replied Mrs Hudson. “So I gather........”

Jack looked at Sue sitting in the car seat beside him. She was wearing her disgruntled look. “Sue are you ever going to talk to me again?” Jack reached over to grasp her hand. “I really am sorry. I wasn’t making fun of you. I just thought my mother deserved a taste of her own medicine!”

“Your mother must think you’re marrying a lunatic! I knocked over a glass of wine, Levi jumped into her lap. I then told her that I’ve had er…had relations with all the men in my unit, that her son had to rescue me from a collapsed tunnel. It’s a wonder she didn’t march you back to Wisconsin there and then.” Sue was trying very hard to be cross with Jack, and she had loved it that he had defended her against his mother, but as his eyes sparkled at her she could feel her resolve slipping.

“I am really sorry..and I would really like the chance to make it up to you.” Jack reached for her chin and angled her lips towards his. Very gently and seductively his lips ran slowly across Sues. He could feel her relaxing into the kiss. He was forgiven.

A little while later Sue reluctantly broke the kiss “ Jack we are going to be late to work! Perhaps you could think a way of making this up to me later?”

“You know me I’m a resourceful sort of guy” Jack winked at her.

“That’s good because my parents called early this morning and they want to meet with you too!”

Jack smiled at her weakly, how long was it until they were on honeymoon?
