Sigh -- and I bet there's not a parasite in sight, eh Kim?

Yep...no parasites in this story. Their well has been tested and the water is pure and clean! Linny, if it would help, I could take out some fluff and put in some angst. Thanks for reading guys. This little story is not over yet, but it is getting close. She pulled down the window blinds even though the sun wasn’t shinin’
The rain tapped out a love song on that old tin roof
Wrapped up in the covers, they held on to each other
Like new lovers on their honeymoon.Jack smiled as he watched her sleeping. She was curled into the curve of his body. Their feet, his larger and with toes slightly more bent, were layered, his then hers then his then hers. They peeked out, along with entwined ankles and calves, from beneath the knot of sheets. His back – from the nape of his neck to just above the dimples in his lower back – was still damp from shower and love. It chilled in the cool air of their bedroom. He could see the tiny raised bumps like goose flesh dotting her arms. He pulled her more tightly against him, wrapping her in his arms as he snuggled her hair beneath his chin.
He chuckled inwardly as even in sleep, his bride was blushing. Sue was absolutely scandalized when he suggested she call in to the office and take a personal day. “
Jack! The team knows you’re here. They’ll guess what we’ve been…”
“They probably figured that out the day we arrived back from our honeymoon with the goofy grins on our faces.” He had laughed before pulling her close, the ardent caress of his lips against her proving to be very persuasive. Of course, nothing could dissuade her from taking the time to pull the blinds and close the curtains. “
Sweetheart, what are you doing?”
“Just because the team may have an idea about what may go on when we’re alone doesn’t mean the neighbors have to.”Even though their nearest neighbor would have needed heat seeking equipment to even see their silhouettes, he had indulgently waited for her to complete her task before scooping her into his arms. He had laid her down on the feather mattress, easing down beside her as his eyes caressed every curve of the body she had given – along with her soul – on their wedding night. He had committed them each to memory in the days that followed. To that cache of memories, he would add the look in her eyes: both when he met her gaze misted by the mesh of the screen door and the look that had smoldered beneath the mingling raindrops and shower mist. He would never again take for granted what God had given to them that day four years ago when she stormed through his office door.
“What are you thinking about?” The huskiness of sleep and love lingered in her voice.
“Did I wake you?” Tears filled his eyes as he once again saw the light of cherishing love filling her hazel eyes.
She shook her head. The tender smile that curved her lips quickly faded as concern lined her brow. She raised up on one elbow, her hand moving to touch his cheek. A tear drifted from the corner of his eye and pooled along the edge of her thumb. “Jack, what’s wrong?”
“Nothing. Everything. Sue, I’m so sorry.” His fingers trembled as they touched her cheek to gently brush golden strands of hair away. Her brow crinkled further and he could feel the sudden thudding of her heart against his side. “I let work interfere with ‘us’. And I didn’t even realize it until I saw you standing in the doorway.”
“Jack,” she began to protest.
“No, Sue. I was wrong. I should have seen it. But I didn’t. And if it hadn’t been for Pops advice to really look in your eyes, then I’d probably still be blinded to it.”
“Darling,” Sue replied. She raised up a little further, bringing her tender hazel gaze into closer contact with his. “It’s not your fault. Sometimes life gets in the way.”
He turned his head slightly and whispered a kiss into the palm of her hand. A small grin flitted across his lips as he felt her shiver in response. Leaning over, he gently urged her to her back. Holding himself above her, he gave voice to his solemn vow. “I can’t promise that life won’t get in the way again, Sue. But I can promise to be more watchful from now own. I’ll never take our love for granted.”
A tender smile once more curled her lips as twinkling mischief danced in her eyes. “And if you do,” she whispered. Her hand moved from his cheek to his ear, her fingers dancing along the contours. “I’ll just follow Gran’s advice.”
“And what would that be,” he chuckled. Leaning farther, her words tickled his lips.
“Pray for rain.”
Angelic laughter mixed with masculine as he pressed her lips to hers, caressing and teasing until she moaned beneath the gentle ministrations. Somewhere between the patter of rain on the tin roof and the warmth of the sheets beneath his skin, he found home in the arms of his wife.

“So, you think they took our advice?” Henry Rose asked his wife as he turned off the rain delayed Washington Senator’s Business Man’s Special.
Sarah’s eyebrows wiggled above dark eyes. “Only time will tell.” She reached over and took his hand in hers. “You do remember the first time it rained after we were married don’t you?”
Henry grinned before raising her hand to his lips. He brushed a lingering kiss against the age spotted skin. “Of course I do. You were already my treasure. But after that day – if it were possible – you became an even more cherished one.”
“And I’m sure that’s what will happen with those two grandchildren of ours,” she smiled. “Just you wait and see.”
