In Melissa finding answers to her questions, everyone found their answers!! Pam, I love how you handled all this, and I am definitely going back to read again!! There's a lot to mull over, and Sue is right - we need to be thankful for what we have!! I know Myles and Tara are happy and very thankful that they have Natalie!!!

Epilogue

April showers had given way to East Coast humidity which by the looks of the sky was soon to turn into a thunderstorm, she noted as she grabbed the mail and quickly ran into the house. Thumbing through the contents she noticed one particular return address with interest and some trepidation. Opening what appeared to be an invitation, she sucked in her breath in surprise upon reading it.

Darren and Linda Sampson family are proud to welcome Melissa Sampson home. Life may be about the journey, but truly there is no place like home.

He read over her shoulder, wiped the tear that ran down her cheek, kissed her head softly and told her “You do good work.”

A lovely story - now I have to go and read more about all these wonderful new people! Thank you for the introduction!

Hi Pam

I’m finally catching your story and I love all these new/old characters. Although, my brain has a hard time implanting so many new characters into my memory bank all at one time! slaphappy.gif
Of course, I was introduced to Jenna/Eric/Riley/Tess in your Fall Classic story and I’m thrilled to read about them again. Although, I’ve not found the time to go back and read your other stories yet, so I have to say I’m still curious about what has happened in the past to bring them all together. I feel like a new member of the team, coming to work with this larger than life team I’ve heard so much about and, having no cases to work on, gets thrust into the middle of the team’s personal lives which are somehow connected with a prior case. I just have to wait for the team to open up to me and fill me on the past! Or, if I could only find the time, go back and read your prior stories. laugh.gif

I love Myles and his two little girls, Bethany and Natalie. And Myles/Tara married. I'm curious if Bethany is also adopted. Like everyone else, loved Jack smitten with the coffee pot. It captured the infatuation he has for Sue, even after several years of marriage. He is so lovable when he’s displaying his smittenness. I also love the easy going banter between the old and new characters. It shows how our favorite team has grown over the years, expanding their “family”.

Jack’s frustration with Jenna has me wondering what their relationship is all about. I’m caught up to the phone call from Tess to Riley P4-59 - informing him she is babysitting Britany/Natalie/Sophia/Evan. What a handful for a newlywed to handle. Maybe she meant they are going to use chalk and paint the driveway. laugh.gif

Gotta quit for now and go do some gardening. Have a flower bed full of grass and weeds that is calling me. I soaked it overnight and need to get out there before it gets too hot to work. Be back later.

That was truly an insightful story. I loved the humor and dialogue; it flowed so easy, right out of real life! Melissa's struggle to find her place affected all the characters in their own way, from Myles/Tara, to Jenna, to Michele, to Jack/Sue and even Riley/Tess. You did a marvelous job of showing the depth of each character's stress over Melissa's seemingly simple request to visit Natalie. A wonderful story... I'm definitely going to make some time soon to go back and read about these additional characters you have brought alive in our favorite team's lives. Thanks for sharing your story.
