Gosh darn, I missed the finale but I'm still
She gave him a head rub as they moved into the living room, turning off lights and checking the lock on the front door. She made it a point to peek out the curtain toward Mrs. Breathitt’s house. The elderly woman lived all alone and Sue had taken it on herself to keep an eye out for her in between visits by her daughter who lived across town. Seeing that the house was dark except for the small light in the upstairs window, she smiled and headed toward the stairs. Mrs. Breathitt had devised the signal as a way to let her know all was well, flipping the switch on only after she climbed into bed for the night. Now that the neighborhood was tucked in, Sue could concentrate on her own bedtime preparations.
I don't know why, but I loved this little extra detail -- so Sue, but it also conveys how settled they are in their home, how content she is as part of a couple now. It's just a feel good paragraph -- especially since I know that Jack is concentrating on betime preparations as well.
he lay there bare-chested, and as far as she could tell, with only a sheet, that dipped dangerously low, covering his hips and legs?
THUD!!![/size
Jack quirked a brow and threw the sheet aside, bolting after her and catching up just a few feet from the bed. Scooping her up and enduring her squeal of surprise, he carried her into the tiled room that had become a favorite destination at the end of a long day fighting crime.
And what would a kmt123 story be without a shower scene, hmmmm?
“I had my heart set on a long, relaxing shower to work out some of the kinks from doing all that planting. Mind telling me why, exactly, I should give that up?”
“So, you’re feeling kinky, hmmm? “ Jack caught his lower lip between his teeth and spiked his brows upward at the prospects that presented. “All the more reason to let me join you, I could help take care of a few of those for you.”
THUD!!! THUD!!! Teasing Jack intent on celebrating their one month anniversary!!!!
She giggled as he blew a strand of it from his mouth after attempting to kiss her neck, advancing toward the bed all the while. When he stopped abruptly and scowled at the bed, she turned to see what could possibly put that look on his face after their bathroom interlude.
Levi lay square in the center of the king size bed, stretched from pillow to foot with the sheet Jack had discarded tangled around his back legs.
Can't blame a dog for trying.
One of the hardest things to adjust to since Jack had brought them to this nice, new doghouse, was knowing when she needed him at night - and sometimes even during the day - and when he would get an “Oh no… Levi!”
Deciding tonight it would be the latter, he tried to tune out the noise; only lifting his head once when Sue called out…
“Oh… J-a-a-a-a-a-c-k!”
What an awesome ending. But I'm terribly sorry to see it finished...surely you have something up your sleeve for us?
