I'll try to be first in "e-line"!

Thank goodness all the pushing and shoving to get there will be virtual and won't leave bruises!
I know you're excited and nervous - you deserve the excitement, but toss those nerves to the curb... it's going to be a rousing success!
Congratulations again; I'm proud of you!!

Congratulations, Marlo!

I've read the excerpt and it's certainly captured my interest. Just one question, though... Will there be any chance that your book will
physically make its way to my corner of the world? I prefer to keep the
actual book. Besides, I've had an upleasant experience concerning online transaction, (like Jack had), and try to avoid it as much as possible.
Anyway, wow, I'm so envious of you. I started a manuscript about five years ago, and it still remains a work-in-progress manuscript today.

Wish I have your discipline and confidence.
Here's wishing you the best in the sale of your book! And I'm sure it will be a roaring success!

And this one is for the handsome salvage diver captain on the cover.

Handsome? I guess Marlo's hero must be... but I swear I'm only satring at... uh, i mean
seeing a part of his chin and his handsome, broad, bare chest and muscled arm and... uhm... but

is exactly right.

Sorry, I'm not even supposed to be here. I'm gone.

Thank you very much, guys! I would never have done it without all the encouragement and support you all gave me. I sure hope I won't disappoint you. And yes, I'm still nervous, but I'll be celebrating with my girlie tonight.

I'm sorry, but right now, Salvaged is only available in electronic book. The Sapphire Blue Publishing who contracted me doesn't print "physical" books. I hope it'll be available in paper one day, but I would need to find a different publisher, so it won't be in the near future.
The only advice I can give is to use Paypal for your transactions. Personally, I've never had any problems with them.

Siti, I used a credit card. I guess I'm just a trusting soul. I do have PayPal and would have preferred to use it, as my son has used it extensively and never had any problems. But, unfortunately, I didn't have access to my account info due to evacuating hurricane Ike. Its buried somewhere in the reams of files I stored in a big plastic tub to keep high and dry. Good luck with whatever you decide.

I just ordered my copy. I wish it was in print as my old back gets a bit weary leaning in to read on my computer screen (bad eyesight). But, I'll make the sacrifice for Marlene! LOL
I used my credit card. Fortunately, I've never encountered any problems using it for online ordering, but I do try to stay with reputable-appearing sites. I will say that Sapphire Blue Publishing is great in that stupid me didn't indicate PDF format and they delivered my copy in another format. I contacted them asking how to change the delivery to Adobe PDF or whether I should order it again, but a lady named Tiffany at the company immediately answered my e-mail and informed me she was downloading Salvaged to me in PDF.

they must be wondering what hit them on the 15th. Okay -- so this is going to sound sooooo dumb and I'm

to say that I haven't been able to 'buy' it yet. When I select Salvaged, the shopping cart in the tip hand corner says Salvagedx1 but when I then click whatever to pay it says my shopping cart is empty.

I know it's something I'm doing, and I'll keep persevering and you'll be #1 on their list in no time, Marlene...we always knew you were.

but now we have to share you with the rest of the world.

The same thing happened to me Kav, so I clicked on it again and up popped 2 copies in my shopping cart! After looking all over the screen several times, increasing the page to 150%, I finally saw, way up at the very top right of the screen a place to "View/Edit Cart"! I clicked on it and then deleted one of the copies and everything went smooth from there on, except almost like Donna, I forgot to change to PDF format. But I remembered just before clicking to buy. So you're in good company here!
Now, maybe you'll be the one to push Marlene over the top to #1!

Okay -- dumb question but why is everyone choosing PDF format over html?
Kav (who is not home yet and therefore cannot venture into the realm of shopping carts but would like to be informed when she does.)
Frwdgranny
Sep 17 2008, 05:10 PM
I'm not sure...not all that familiar with html...don't you have to have an internet connection to read html? With Adobe PDF you can read it offline and on any computer so you can take it with you no matter what kind of PC you have...I think!
Lindsy can probably answer that better than I can!
psst....I don't really know all that much about PCs and the internet. I did, finally, learn how to use Google, and I love it!
We used PDF at work, so that's why I downloaded it.

Tina bought hers in HTML and I asked the same question. If you're using Internet Explorer, Kav, you can certainly use HTML. You have to have Adobe Reader to read PDF, though it's free and most people have it. I chose PDF simply because I like the program.
One difference we did notice, though... Tina said the book cover didn't show up at the top of her HTML document (though she thought it did get downloaded, just separately); in my PDF format, the cover is the first page (not separate).
Either way, you get the whole book.

Janet
P.S. My shopping cart was empty the first time too. I just repeated the process and it worked. *shrug*

My hubby says that PDF's are usually more stable with graphics like on the cover. That's why I chose it. It looks just like a book, too.

Web, you sent me at #1! WOW!!!
Because I was away, I've only been able to glimspe sporadically at the site in the last week. I was on the road driving with my daughter (with the Mamma Mia soundtrack of ABBA blasting through the speakers) the day Salvaged was released. That it climbed to #1 within two days totally amazes me. I can't even begin to imagine what my editor is thinking at the moment.
I had lots of fun writing the book, and I hope you'll enjoy it.
Thank you!

I've just begun to read your novel. I read in pieces because my old back starts giving me fits after awhile. I know from what I've read already that it's going to be great!
BTW, I saw the movie Mama Mia recently and would love to see the stage version. I didn't realize ABBA was the main musical score -- one of my all-time favorite singing groups.
Anway, congrats to you Marlo on getting your book published!

Sue's fan...yep a brilliant piece of technology...I've read more on my little device than I have for a long time...free books is a bonus too.
I'm waiting for Murdoch Mysteries to come out over here...got them in book form, but the uk as usual is far behind the states with everything connected to publishers/authors etc. They make it sound so political. Never mind I'm a patient person.
