Well... seeing as several inches of snow fell here in Seattle last night...
And that is on top of the several inches that had already fallen this week....
How about right now? Before I have to go find a couple of
or a
so that I can go to work tomorrow?

“Hello?”
He smiled, she sounded so hesitant to answer his home phone. “Hi Mum.”
“Oh Bobby luv… how lovely of you to call.” Louise glanced at the clock. He’d been gone for almost two hours when he was just supposed to be taking Tara home. “And how is Tara luv?”
“Ah… she’s fine.” Bobby said, feeling his ears turn red. “I ah… well, just wanted to ah… tell you that you don’t have to wait up on me.”
“Oh, Pete and I are fine, luv… we’ll just sit here and enjoy a cup of coffee while we wait for you to come home.” She caught the amused look on Pete’s face when she said that… seeing as they were both already dressed for bed and had been planning on locking the door and heading that way when the phone had rang.
“No mum.” Bobby sighed. “I meant that you don’t have to wait up because I’m going to stay over here…” He trailed off, his brow furrowing slightly as he tried to think of a reason. Helping Tara organize her cd’s and dvd’s wouldn’t fly really that well because his own were a jumbled mess and Mum would never buy it.
“Oh you are…?”
“Yeah, uh well she asked me to help her wrap presents.”
“Oh, I’d be happy to come over and help luv.”
“and make cookies.”
“I make the best sugar cookies and you know it.”
“No mum…” Bobby felt like he was in junior high again… begging to be allowed to do something. “It’s… quite all right, her kitchen’s rather small and there wouldn’t be much room.” He said, grasping at straws.
Louise had to clamp her hand over her mouth to keep from laughing out loud. Or at least from asking if she could expect a grandchild for a Christmas present next year. She handed the phone to Pops, shaking her head at him before she left the room. Pete could hear her laughter floating down the stairs from where she was laughing in the guest room upstairs.
“So you’re staying over?”
“Uh, yes sir.” Bobby nodded, unconsciously straightening his shoulders as he sat on Tara’s couch.
“And you’re not toying with the girl’s emotions or feelings, right?”
“No sir.” Bobby shook his head. “She asked me to stay. Said she really really wants me to stay.” He hastened to reassure him.
“All right Son.” Bobby could hear the approval in his voice. “You make sure to treat that girl right and why don’t you bring her back over here for breakfast in the morning.”
“Yes sir.” Bobby agreed, glancing up when Tara came back into the living room with hot drinks. “I will.”
They said their good nights and Bobby hung up the phone, taking the mugs from Tara allowing her to settle in against him again before he handed her one. “Good conversation?” Tara asked, a hint of amusement in her voice. She’d heard every word of his side of the conversation.
Bobby chuckled. “Yeah… good conversation and we’re going to my place for breakfast in the morning.”
“Then I guess we’d better get a batch of Christmas cookies mixed up before bed so that we can bake them in the morning.” Tara said innocently, batting her eyelashes at him… letting him know that she’d heard every word. Bobby rolled his eyes at her, laughing finally before taking a sip of his drink.
