Therefore I was going to give your this ring as a promise from me to you that you are my future and that someday I intend to make the ultimate commitment to you. Now, knowing your feelings are as deep as my own I find I want to leap into that future right here and now with you.

Sob -- you have consoled me since Ami has not yet found it in her heart to locate Tara. That is such a satisfying ending! and you cleverly absolved yourself from having to do any sequesl since Myles says he'll be living life, not writing about it!!!! You are too clever!!! I really loved each day of Myles' journal -- but between you and Ami I'm all weepy and my Myles is turning into something of a Heathcliffe inside my head. This will not do at all!
Happy New Year!

Therefore Diary, I say goodbye to you as I do not intend to miss out on life by spending so much time writing it down. I’m going to be living it.
I agree, this absolves you of any responsibility to write a sequel, unless you choose to do so from someone else's perspective, or third person. This has been an absolutely wonderful story to follow!

Lynne, you are a wonderful writer and I really hope we see more from you in the near future!!!!! wink.gif

What a lovely warm ending to a terrific story. Sitting here with a big smile on my face. biggrin.gif

crying.gif Sniff, sniff! I love happy endings!!! I don't know how I missed following this story... which is okay. I got to read the whole thing in ONE SITTING (minus finding things to keep my 8 year old out of trouble so I could sit mesmerized in front of the computer)!!!
You have such talent, and have captured personalities so wonderfully.
What a New Year's present!
Thank you for the gift!
Jill :laughs:

Great story Lynne! In fact, so great I'll even forgive you for pairing Bobby with Lucy. wink.gif

I just love the way you brought Myles to the surface. Incredible!

Absolutely wonderful story, Smiler! I'm glad I got to read it in one sitting. laugh.gif

I really enjoyed this story, Lynne! Good for you for getting it finished in time--and you did so with brilliance smile.gif I loved all of the romances that blossomed between the team members, including the more unexpected one! Your interpretation of Myles was just wonderful, and I loved reading his POV on everything from Christmas shopping madness to the finer points of making eggnog. :laughs: This was great, and I hope to read another story from you very soon.

Smiler, this was a breathtaking story. You wrote from Myles' POV superbly and I absolutely adored his proposal, and Tara's response. It was priceless and this was a gem. I am looking forward to whatever you have coming in the future.

angel.gif bounching.gif Wow, I finally caught up and Smiler you sure put a smile on my face, along with some hearty laughter. You did Myles so well it was as if he was in the room with me. Absolutely loved the seasonally insane line. How true. rofl.gif

Bobby embarrassed buying pj's for his mother at VS's. blushing.gif rofl.gif Too funny! And Jack a ring for his mother, priceless. Sure made the girl working in the store's day! LOL Myles was great!

Oh yes, Kav's Tanya would certainly get into the wrong eggnog :laughs: but she wouldn't need that to swoon over Jack. crush.gif

Great story, happy ending for all, loved it! angel.gif

By the way, is it because I just got home from NY on the 4th, or because I've been to sick to be bothered, or is it because I'm still reading the Christmas stories that I have no desire to take my Christmas decorations down yet? :laughs:

Maybe I'll leave them up until I officially finish all the Christmas stories, both here and over at the WIP and finished stories. There are so many to catch up on. I love it! bounching.gif angel.gif

Smiler,

At the beginning of this challenge, I wanted to write a journal entry of my own. So I began to write but found after several entries that my story was dry and flat. I could not make the story come to life and had such difficulty adding dialogue and creating scenes. Finally, I gave up. I truly expected to see any journal entries in this challenge to fall under the same dry, flat and boring style of my own attempt. Oh my, how I was wrong!

I loved every aspect of your story and, indeed, it was a story and not just ramblings as I found my own attempt encompassing. You captured the character of Myles perfectly. While the day to day Myles is pompous and arrogant, you kept his journal entries more open and emotional but still filled with that inferiority that we love about Myles.

As for the storyline, I loved watching the relationships develop and watching them was exactly what I felt as I read your story. You provided just enough detail to allow me to picture the scenes and just the right amount of dialogue to hear them come alive. And the descriptions you gave were truly from the viewpoint of an observant male, without the intricate details of a female perspective. Again, you kept accurate to the character.

I laughed at Myles’ assuredness and arrogance in situations that later turned out to be wrong. And then there were those moments where he confidently made a statement and then resounded his resolutions within a few sentences following. Although always confident in his thoughts, Myles is never afraid to change them as if the original thoughts never existed.

I hope I gave you an idea of how much I enjoyed your story. I appreciate all the work you put into creating a journal of life, full of laughter, love and smiles. . . oh, and how the smiles were plentiful.

Great story Smiler!

Lynne, I hope I'm not six years too late to say that this story was beautifully written and very touching - thank you so much! Suddenly, I'm feeling the Christmas spirit...and it's only September.
