I am SO excited as well! Especially about the possibility of new episodes!!! Sue Thomas: F.B.Eye is my all-time favourite show and I was extremely disappointed when it went off the air. New episodes would be so amazing as I feel the show still has lots of life and stories left in it! I will definitely be tuning in to watch the reruns, at least until new ones start!

In my letter that I sent, I included a comment about supporting the program sponsors. I don't know how much that helps, but I added it.

RE: Sue Thomas, FBEye (Program)
Dear Sirs:
I would like to express my appreciation to you for the entry of Sue Thomas, FBEye into your program lineup. May I also use this opportunity to encourage you to give your fullest consideration to the production of new programming for this wonderful show.
I will take note of the sponsors who support the program and will make every effort to support their products and services.
Sincerely,
Kav

Great example, Ivory and I like the idea of mentioning the sponsors, since they are the ones who pay the bills. I especially love how you said everything that needed to be said in so few words. I'm afraid that mine was a bit rambling and long winded

and won't make as much of an impact.

I'm going to write again in April as well.

Just an FYI to let you know that AP does read its correspondence. I wrote a letter dated 3/12/09 and received the following reply dated 3/16/09:
"Dear Donna,
Thank you for contacting Animal Planet.
We appreciate your enthusiasm regarding Sue Thomas F.B. Eye and for taking the time to write us. Positive feedback such as yours is very important to us. We want you to know that we will pass your comments on to our program management and executive producers. Please know that each and every comment is read and taken into consideration for future programming.
Thank you again for expressing interest in our programming,
Sincerely,
Customer Relations
Animal Planet"
Even though this may be a standard letter that they mail out, I thought it was nice that they responded.

Nothing to add guys about saving the show...but I've just watched a few of my taped episodes recently and in the The Hunter episode Bobby quoted Animal Planet....thought it quite amusing as Animal Planet is the station picking up the show in the states again.
Just tickled my fancy

That was so...so....funny...Gina...I loved that one as a comedy type of episode, the tears of the woman and Jack/Yannick's face, absolutly hilarious.
You better all watch...keep those ratings up.

I'm sending a reminder to friends and family about the show's debut on Animal Planet on Monday evening, 4/6. I think I'll send it Sunday night. Some of them had asked me to remind them. I'm thinking about attaching a generic letter so that if an individual wants to write to the station about the show, all they have to do is print it out, sign and place it in a stamped, addresed envelope and mail it.

This is just AWESOME

news! To be honest, I wasn't holding out for much hope anymore and so haven't been coming here lately (well in a very long time other than a quick glance at the site news just in case...). I was so thrilled to receive the e-mail of the Press Release and popped right over here.
I do have a question though regarding how long Animal Planet is planning on airing episodes (the reruns). Jen stated the following:
QUOTE
If the show does well during the first three months, there is the possibility of more and new episodes.
And I read on the YouTube site (can't remember exactly what someone said) that it was only slated to air for three months and then if it did well, it would be put into the permanent lineup. I initially understood that Animal Planet had added it to the lineup and if it did well in the first 3 months then they might give the go ahead for new episodes but that it would continue to air the original episodes either way. I may have totally interpreted this incorrectly

. Jen or Janet or Tina, could someone clarify this for me??? I'd appreciate it. Wanna make sure I have my facts straight. I have forwarded the press release to a yahoo group I belong to and also let the people I know who live in my area that are Sue fans know about it. I'm going to remind them this weekend to watch on Monday, but want to make sure I understand if the show is on Animal Planet "permanently" with at least the reruns of the original episodes or if it is only on for 3 months period (unless they get bombarded like I hope they will with letters of support).
Hope this makes sense. Sorry for rambling.

There is going to be a lot of information swirling around the internet - as with anything, some will be official and some will be supposition. Our policy at RFF is to only post information that is official and verified. The rest... well, we don't know anything beyond what the press release says. But what we can do, what is important, is to concentrate on showing our support for STFBEYE.
So, find the Animal Planet channel on your TV and set your VCR or DVR for Monday evening. Boot up your computer and get those letters written. Tell your friends and ask them to do the same. That's what we need to do. And if there is more for us to know, I have no doubt the Johnson Brothers will get the message to us.

As a reminder, here is where to direct your letters:

I was just on Facebook, and there is an "event" page for tonight's STFBE return! If you're on Facebook, check it out! I've RSVP'd that I'll attend, and I noticed that one of the confirmed attendees was none other than Marc Gomez!! Cool! He's on Facebook, too!
It seems that the Canadian version of Animal Planet is not showing Sue Thomas F.B. Eye

though we can't complain because CTV does, but it would have been nice to go to the party.

I know how you feel. I felt the same way when I learned that Hallmark was showing STFBEYE in the U.K., but not here.
I think we'll be okay for new epis, NicoleSam. I think CTV (the network that carries the reruns now in Canada) was part of the production of the show before. At least they must have bought the rights to airing it in Canada. So, they likely would again. Or Animal Planet would since it would be original programming...or we could just move the states!

Or maybe get a satellite dish. We'll worry about that when the time comes.

I'm sitting here marveling at the fact that we're still discussing this show FOUR YEARS after it stopped airing first-run episodes... AND NOW IT'S BACK!! AND WITH THE VERY REAL POSSIBILITY OF MORE EPISODES. Sheeesh it was good to see the gang again and know the rest of the country was able to tune in too. I hope it did really well last night.
A HUGE thank you to all my fellow STFBE fanatics... I have to believe that all the Johnsons had to do was to point the decision makers at Discovery/Animal Planet toward this site and others out there in the cyber-world in order to prove that interest was still high and the show would be welcomed back with open arms.
But that's not to take anything away from the Johnson's themselves. They obviously didn't forget their promise to try and get the show back on the air, and personally, I can't thank them enough. Just the prospect of tuning in every Monday night makes me smile!
I've already emailed Animal Planet, and I'll be firing off a handwritten "love note" tonight! Wonder if perfumed stationary would make an impression? Maybe I'll get my cats to put their paw-prints on it... it IS the Animal Planet, after all....

I agree totally. There was something special about watching it broadcast live and not from a recording. Seeing it so crystal clear was wonderful. I think it was even hi-def. I mailed in a letter last month, and plan to send another this week. I appreciated that they acknowledged my earlier letter with a response.
I thought of all you lucky Animal Planet viewers last night.

I am so grateful that CTV shows it up here most days. It often coincides with the nap my youngest takes.

Keep those ratings up so there is no option but to make more episodes.

Let us know in Canada who the sponsors are in case we can support any of them up here, as well as during any traveling we may do south of the border.

I was so amazed at how crisp and clear the picture was on Animal Planet. It was so wonderful to have my favorite people in my livingroom again. Sue, Jack, Levi and all the rest are always welcome in my home. I love them so much.
I agree, it is amazing that after all this time we are just as excited about Sue Thomas F.B.Eye coming back on as ever. That really speaks volumes for how great this show really is.

You know, I'm wondering how many new fans that first showing recieved.

And if people were awake like me at 3 in the morning, how many more were drawn in then....
Just a random thought.
someone_elses_star, when the reruns ran on PAX, they cut out a few scenes to make room for more commercials. I don't really know what they cut out of the Pilot episodes, because I never saw the original airing, but the rerun for 'The Newlywed Game' cut out the entire scene with Jack and Sue in the car staking out the Vanderwylen household before Sue got the idea for her and Jack to go in as a married couple.
For those of us who never saw the original airings of the episodes and only had to watch reruns on PAX/ION, we always saw it without that scene.
As for sponsors, if I'm not mistaken (though I probably am), it was mostly for the ASPCA. Can't be sure though. I'll have to check next week.

Hi all --
Thanks so much for your support in promoting the premiere of "Sue Thomas: F.B.Eye" on Animal Planet this past Monday.
The show did pretty well - viewership/rating went up in the second hour which is good! But we need to keep growing! (not being against the NCAA Basketball Finals should help smile.gif
So keep watching - keep spreading the word - and keep telling Animal Planet how much you like the show and want them to promote it (

Hi,
I was just wondering if there was anyway to contact Animal Planet to support the show without having to give out so much personal information... When I went onto Animal Planet's website, you had to give your postal code and other such information before you could even send an email to them. Is there any other way to help support STFBE without sending letters or emails?
Thanks!
