It is with great joy and excitement that I can announce that I have signed a 3-book contract with Revell Publishing. Revell is a sister company with Bethany House. They are under Baker Books.
The first of the three books, currently titled Summer of Truth, will be out in the fall of 2010. The second in the summer of 2011 and the third in the summer of 2011. Right now, these are named the Lake Manawa Series, but that could change.
I could never have gotten this far without Romancefanfiction and especially our Mission Manuscript Scribblers group. Below is a little about the first of the series. The picture is actually a postcard of the area that serves as a setting for all three stories. Lake Manawa is about ten miles from my home, but its rich history has been lost to most of the people in this area. I wanted to bring it to life again.

Summer of Truth
If amateur astronomer Marguerite Westing could wish on a shooting star, she’d ask God to send boring Roger Gordon to the moon.
Unfortunately, shooting stars are rare.
When witty, adventure-seeking Marguerite learns her family will be summering at Lake Manawa in Iowa, she sees it as a dream come true -- especially after she discovers two new loves: sailing and instructor Trip Andrews.
Manawa may mean peace, but Marguerite finds only turmoil when her domineering mother pressures her to accept Roger's proposal. But how can she agree now that she has met the handsome sailing instructor who is everything her humdrum suitor is not?
To further complicate matters, her father begins sneaking off in the night to a mysterious gambling hall on the edge of the lake, and by day, he distances himself from Marguerite and the family. When her suitor presses for a formal engagement, will the father she’s always worshipped save her, or will she have to fight for her own freedom, her family, and her faith?
Summer of Truth, set in 1895, is a 92,000 word completed historical romance manuscript with a generous dash of humor.
