TAKE A CHANCE ON ME
She’s coming this way . . . no, she’s stopping . . . Aw, why would somebody like her even LOOK at somebody like me?
Nobody wants to take a real chance on somebody with a past like mine. So many false starts. So many unfortunate choices. Oh they all like me for a good time, just briefly, but not for the long haul. I really thought a few times that I’d found “the one.” But it was all for nothing.
But this one. Wow. Her hair sparkles in the sun. Her smile would make any dark corner light up with the strength of her goodness. Her eyes? What color are they? It doesn’t matter. They’re kind. The crinkles at the edges of her eyes tell me that she smiles and laughs often.
She could probably handle somebody who’s been through a lot . . . but she shouldn’t have to. As much as I think I already love her, I would never ask that of her.
Wait. She’s walking this way. Maybe if I roll a little closer to the door and catch her eye . . .
It worked! She’s walking this way, with purpose. She is one determined lady. Her I could love ‘til I die . . .
“Hi Levi. I’m Sue.”
