In this story we meet Liz. Liz is Jack's sister who also decided that she wanted to be a fbi agent. She was brought into the team because she was good in undercoveer ops. she already knew some of the guys on the team, Myles and Bobby. And Bobby started to notice she had changed in allot of different ways. This scene takes place after a raid gone bad, when Liz got hurt....

Chapter 36. a beating to the heart

The ambulance raced towards the hospital, al the while the peramedics doing al kinds of stuff that jack didn’t even noticed. He kept on asking him self what he could have done differently. “why was she there? Why didn’t he notice Chau right away? Why did she jump in front of him? Why did she have to get hurt, she never hurt anybody in her life?” that was the biggest question on his mind, he couldn’t understand it, he had seen people getting shot before, heck he had been shot a couple of times, but this was different.

He could still see her jumping up and down when she got her wish from Santa, a detective kit “he should have know right then that she was going to be an agent” or when she cried in her room thinking nobody could hear her, but he did. She cried her eyes out over a guy she liked, but he didn’t want her, apparently he was a bit older. He talked to her, trying to make her understand she deserved better, but at that time, it was a lost cause. He could see her coming towards him with a big grin, telling him that she was accepted towards one of the biggest universities in the country, he was so happy for her and she glowed. But what he remembered most of all was her way of always making sure he was ok, she was looking out for him. She made sure everything was ok, he couldn’t remember a time where he didn’t call his baby sister to tell him what was wrong with “his” life and asking “her” for advice. Shouldn’t that be the other way around.

He was so deep in thought he didn’t even noticed that he walked out of the ambulance with his hands still in that from Liz, he didn’t notice some nurses telling him if he was ok, or telling him he needed to stay here, he couldn’t do that he needed to be with his sister.

“no I can’t I’m not leaving here” jack was determent to stay put.

“Sir you can’t go with her, and we need to get her to the OR immediately, we take good care of here, please sir take a seat over here” the nurse took jack away from his sister, he felt her hand slipping from his grip, he followed her al the way to the doors, and when they closed he still watched them.

The nurse already left, saying she was going to get some water for him, he didn’t noticed her, he didn’t want to notice anything. Slowly he walked towards the door looking thru the window, and seeing al kinds of people doing there job, but he couldn’t see Liz. He couldn’t see her. He went back to the scene. He needed to see in his mind what went wrong. He saw bobby and D getting suspects, he saw Myles running out of the locker room ,looking for Liz. While searching for her he captured a suspect. He saw swat all around him, taking everybody who was linked to the case…but he didn’t saw Liz, only at the last possible moment, when it was to late. How could he not have noticed Chau slipping away.

He turned staring at nothing on the floor. He could hear people walking by he could hear people laughing, people crying out in pain, but nothing made sense to him, it all was a blur.

staring in to the floor was the only thing he could, what was taking them so long, she should be fine right about now, they where already there for 15 minutes, he wanted to see her, he needed to know she was ok. Storming towards the nurse he gave her his best agent look “I need to know how Agent Liz Hudson is doing” the nurse understood is anguish, so she let the way he spoke to her pass her by. “sir when I know something I will tell you right away, now can I do something for you, do you need someone to come over, do you need to phone somebody” and that was it, as if a light bulb went of in his head “phone, he needed call back home and say to his parents that there baby girl was shot and he couldn’t help her” he couldn’t breath, he couldn’t think he needed to sit. Turning towards the benches he took some deep breaths. “I can’t do that, I can’t do that to my parents” he started to shake real badly “what is going on with me” standing up as fast as he could he walked towards a wall pressing his head against the cool wall. Feeling al the emotions coming to the surface he couldn’t repress them anymore, turning around he saw an elevator door opening, seeing the team made the dam he held in place break. Sliding down the wall, he broke down in sob’s, all the hurt he felt was released.

The team saw jack sliding down, there fearless leader looked so small right now, Tara started to cry softly while Myles hugged her towards his chest. Lucy was in shock, D took her with him, to some seats.

The four of them saw how sue and bobby raced towards jack, sue taking him in her arms. She felt his shudders, they went right thru her whole body. While bobby sat next to him on the floor his hand on jacks head, giving him as much support as he could, while he took al the support he could get from him and sue. The devotion she gave to jack to make it al alright was a ray of sunshine in the darkest of times, wiping his tears away, he promised to himself that from the time that Liz would wake up, he would make sure she knew right away how much he loved her.

Hearing somebody walk in hallway they turned towards the sound, only sue was oblivious, but bobby nudged her, but she already knew, jacks head lifted itself from his comfortable place. Looking straight in the eyes of a doctor.

“is this the family of Liz Hudson” they al looked at each other while simultaneous answering it with “yeah we are her family” the doctor nodded “well then i have some news,” he watched the group and smiled

“ Liz Hudson…is going to be fine, very sore and cranky but fine”
